While I didn't purchase this item for its intended purpose of removing/installing oil filters, as per advice from the SCA team member in the store at the time, she mentioned that it would be suitable for loosening/tightening the fuel cap on my old plastic jerry can. I tried it when I got home after purchasing the oil filter tool and it worked perfectly. I'm so glad that I took her advice on a suitable alternative to what I was looking for.

Well-made and sturdy however the bulky, fixed position handle makes this difficult to operate well in the usually confined space surrounding an oil filter. I'll need to modify the handle to pivot to be able to use it.

Brilliant! I swear by this filter wrench. The rubber grip inside the ring grabs/grips the filter properly and turns it with ease, the handle is well designed too and it’s super durable overall

Great Value Tool. However the handle slides down when trying to apply pressure. Its a little to big to get good pressure to loosen/tighten the filter on a 105 series cruiser due to where the filter is placed
I purchased two sizes of these from Supercheap as an alternative to several other filter removers. I found these much more efficient in many cases than several other removers I already have. The rubber in side the metal ring gives much better grip than my older ones and the flexible handle that can move to 90deg's helps me get into places that the other ones I have can not. All round these removers are flexible and work very effectively.
This tool is awesome if you only hand tighten your filters. There is a really good feature where you can loosen the screw near the handle to turn the handle 90 degrees to get better leverage. If you plan to do servicing yourself and hand tighten all your filters this will help in taking them off easily.Where is would not work is when a shop mechanic decides to tighten your filter to 200NM and then you are stuck. However mechanics are known to be smart and this will never happen to anyone.Good product for home use
Great tool, apart from easily removing the oil filters doing my oil change, I also used it to remove tap fittings/ water spouts in my bathrooms for maintenance.Worth it, seems to be a good quality product!
Bent on the first time i used it. Read reviews and chose this tool after opening the package i did think it felt flimsy. I was right it just bent as i applied a small amount of force to it.
This was a life-saver when performing first oil change on new to me car, after I can only presume the last person to perform a service on the car was The Hulk or Thor God of Thunder. Not even the "stab and spin" method with a screwdriver worked - just tore a pair of holes in the oil filter sides and munched the filter element inside. It was that tight.Tip - If you can't take a filter off with one hand you're putting it on too tight! No need to make a "that's not going anywhere" situation out of an oil filter installation. This wrench will make future situations much less messier and easier to deal with if I have to use it again. The rubber/silicone inside the strap ensure's maximum grip on the filter wall.Another tip is to wipe clean and dry the filter before ... MoreThis was a life-saver when performing first oil change on new to me car, after I can only presume the last person to perform a service on the car was The Hulk or Thor God of Thunder. Not even the "stab and spin" method with a screwdriver worked - just tore a pair of holes in the oil filter sides and munched the filter element inside. In a very tight space under the engine, it was difficult to position into a place where I could even get a few mm of movement to turn the filter, but the rubber belt kept slipping (VW T4 with the 92mm diameter large oil filter). The small slippage meant that I couldn't get any rotation on the oil filter. HOWEVER, I placed some 80 grit sandpaper underneath the band and was able to stop the slip and remove the oil filter by turning it a few mm each time.
