The TP-Link Archer AC1900 was a perfect replacement for my older wireless router. It is compact and has all of the features I was looking for--both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands. Set-up was a breeze. The box had the things I needed including an ethernet cable to connect to the modem from the cable company, as well as a power cable. I did the set-up through my lap-top and it was easy with things like "auto-detect" to figure out the type of IP address I had. Once I had it running, I ran through the devices in my house and connected by 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz as appropriate. My house is one level and 1200 sq ft, but the signal strength was very strong in every room. So far the connections have all held perfectly and there seems to be plenty of bandwidth for all the things I need to ... This router is great. I love that there’s an app for the router, and you can set parental controls right there and also guest access. Perhaps the most handy feature is that you can turn off the LED lights so if you were sleeping in the same room as the router, you would love to be able to turn those off. Mine is in my downstairs family room, though. This router increased the speed on my devices, particularly when everyone is using a device, which happens quite often in the evenings. But, best of all, this increased the range greatly - now I can use devices much better on my back patio and I can stream movies while I’m in our hot tub. Overall I do recommend - but you need to know what you’re doing. My brother in law helped me with the installation!

This router is amazing. I finally found a router that can cover my whole house inside and outside. I did strategically place it by the window so the coverage inside and outside is strong. This helps with my wireless security cameras as well as home browsing. I really like the 4 antennas. I think that’s why the range is so good but I’m no engineer. I also liked how easy the setup was. I didn’t have to download an app or anything complicated. Literally plugged it in to the modem and the outlet and used the access code on the bottom and bam I was up and running in under 5 minutes. Between all my smart devices, smart lights and computers, I have over 26 items connected to the router and no issues whatsoever with drops or speed decreases. Definitely recommend this to ... I only gave this 4-stars because I had some problems with it. I could not access this router as my primary one. I connected it to my modem and hooked my computer to one of the ethernet ports. First, the website you need to go to register tells me it was not a safe website because it did not accept http. I tried to enter anyhow and it told me the website did not exist. I gave it a few days rest and when I tried again, I got the same messages. I was not going to keep disconnecting my equipment and computer again. So, I tried using this router as a second access and this time it worked. Within minutes, I was able to get the router up and running after I connected it to my regular router via an ethernet port. We’ve upgraded our TP-Link routers for many years as Wi-Fi technology has gotten better. These routers are reliable and durable. In fact, we have never had one fail. With our growing number of Wi-Fi toys (cell phones, robot vacuums, doorbells, security cameras, Wi-Fi lights, etc.), we wanted to extend our existing Wi-Fi network. So, we are going to connect this new TP-Link Archer AC1900 to our existing TP-Link Archer AX1800. Both of these models transmit 2.4G and 5G bands. Made in Vietnam. We’re very happy that all of our many Wi-Fi devices will have reliable connections!!
This is my first experience with this brand router. It looks to be a nice quality. I currently have xfinity internet with gateway modem/router from Xfinity. Im hoping to be able to use these in conjunction. Im having some difficulty setting it up with my current router. If i was using just this router the set up is easy peasy. The router itself is nice and sleek. It has a functional but modern look. Its black and can be hidden in plain sight with everyday decor. I will need to update this review after using it for several weeks to be able to give an accurate and complete review regarding this quality of the signal and speed.
I have an AT&T Uverse router. It does ok in my 2000 square foot house, but the wifi signal is weaker in my exercise room which is pretty much the furthest point in the house from the router. I was hoping that this TP Link router would have a stronger signal and help me have better wifi reception in that part of the house. Unfortunately, that is not the case. The TP Link seems to be a decent router, but the signal is not any stronger on any device that my AT&T router. And I know because I tested it on my laptop and 3 different Roku devices throughout my house. Literally no improvement at all with the wifi strength than with my current router. This score rates TP-Link customer service and customer support as Terrible. Had I not received this router to test I would not have purchased it. Other than the poor customer service this router performs very well.
The TP-Link Archer1900 Wi-Fi router will get the job done. First, you won't find any extravagant features on this router. Bare bones and it gets the job done really well. We found that the coverage was enough for both of us to be gaming on Xbox One at opposite ends of a 1600 sq ft house with no noticeable lag. I also like the easy hook up, which made my life so much easier. We have used the TP-Link thumb wireless routers in the past with very good success. You might see a slight improvement in your download & upload times. We did, but it really wasn't earth shattering, but a improvement none the less.Over all, this is a affordable entry for a wireless router.
