Best WiFi 6E mesh system available!

Not a single problem or hiccup whatsoever. Plus, the privacy features and ease of setting the parameters exactly as you need, make this easily the best WiFi product I’ve purchased.I’m probably the most particular and analytical person I know when it comes to electronics and their functionality, and I would never take the time to write this review unless this product was top tier.Long story short, if you’re in the market for a WiFi 6 or 6E mesh router system, this one should be at the top of your list.

Easy Setup and Doubled Download Speed

I bought this mesh system to (hopefully) improve on the download speed I had been getting from my Xfinity router (1 Gbps plan). While Xfinity always reported I was getting 1 Gbps or more at the gateway, I never saw anything close to that at my computer, which was on the third floor with the Xfinity router on the 2nd floor. Even with an Xfinity extender I usually saw download speeds in the 100-200 Mbps range and only 2 out o 3 bars on the wifi strength.I installed this TP-Link system with no problems. It was easy and straight-forward using their smart phone app. I was initially disappointed with the download speed, which started out not much better than Xfinity. Then I started experimenting with placement of the three mesh units. It was easy and straight-forward using their smart phone app. I was initially disappointed with the download speed, which started out not much better than Xfinity. Then I started experimenting with placement of the three mesh units. I finally settled on an arrangement that essentially doubled my download speed (or better). The image shows a speed test where I measured 562 Mbps download, and sometimes I see over 600, and this is at my computer, which is farthest away from my gateway. I'd say this is the result I was hoping for. All good!My home is a 2700 square foot 3-story townhouse. My gateway is in the living room on the second floor. I ended up placing the second unit in the dining room which is an unobstructed straight shot of 30' or so from the gateway. The third unit went into the office on the third floor, which is directly above the dining room, so the signal from unit 2 to unit 3 only has to penetrate the ceiling to reach my computer area. My wifi signal strength everywhere is now at max (3 bars). In the final configuration I also connected my computer to unit 3 with an Ethernet cable in an attempt to maximize the speed and stability.Overall, well satisfied with this product.

Port forwarding and other features are easy to setup in the app as well, plus the router supports a variety of VPN setups so we can connect back to our home network from a phone or laptop while travelling. All in all, a really nice setup for the money.

Exceeded expectations!

This TP-Link Deco XE75 Pro 3-pack mesh replaced an older single Netgear R6300 802.11ac WiFi router. The XE75 3-pack mesh system is a bit of overkill for my ~1,300 sq.ft. single level home, but I have two printers in two different rooms that need wired network connections, plus I had a dead spot at the far end of the house. I was using a power line network adapter to get a wired connection to one room, then was draping another network cable over to the other room--not very neat. With 3 mesh units in a small house, I knew I would get great coverage, and I was able to remove the power line adapter. What I didn't expect was how much more bandwidth I got everywhere. What I didn't expect was how much more bandwidth I got everywhere. The old Neatgear was in the living room at one end of the house and if I sat in that room, I would usually get ~200+ Mbps (I have 300 Mbps service with Spectrum, but didn't always get a full 300). The farther I sat from the Netgear, the slower it got, down to ~25 Mbps at the opposite end of the house. Now, I always get a solid 300+ Mbps everywhere in the house (usually in the 360-370 Mbps range). My expectations have been exceeded! What's more, the XE75 Pro was on sale. Plus, on the product listing on the Best Buy website, BB mentions a 15% discount if you bring in an old router, which I did. (No one at the Best Buy store I went to knew about this discount, so be sure to bring it up on your phone to show them). It's been about a month since I installed, and all-in-all, I am very happy with the performance, especially considering how much it cost (a little less than the Tri-Band* Eero I was considering, and quite a bit less than the Tri-Band* Netgear Orbi).PS: Set up was relatively easy with the Deco app, but be sure to read the documentation first.*I highly recommend getting a Tri-Band mesh like the XE75, to make sure there are no bottlenecks in the unit-to-unit mesh connections, and to provide a margin for future additional devices (I regularly have up to 20 network connected devices at the moment).

I don't have any non-standard settings and my network is pretty vanilla, so the app made it quick and easy. When we built our home I had ethernet cable/ports installed in every room. This allows me to use the ethernet backhaul capability to connect the satellites to the network versus using a wifi channel to do this. This also allows me to place the satellites anywhere I want as I am not dependent on the satellite node connecting wirelessly to the main node. That was super-easy plug-and-play. No configuring in the app was needed to set up the satellites on the hardwired connection. They got recognized and self-setup in a minute or two.I also seem to be getting a little more speed out of my network. After running many Speedtests, I am getting in the high 500's fairly consistently where I seemed to be closer to the low 500's with the old Google Mesh system. So an extra bonus for that.Range also seems to be slightly improved over the already-good Google Mesh. It's a close call, but I will say that it is marginally better. (I didn't have any dead zones that I was aware of previously.) I seem to have a strong signal across the 3 floors of my home.Overall I strongly endorse the TP-Link XE75 Pro system!

First Unit Failed, Second Unit a Gem.
4 November 2023

Coming from an Orbi RBR50, this set of 3 6E capable units is a big upgrade, providing excellent WiFi coverage for my 2900 sq. ft home with two stories. The main unit is in the garage where my fiber jack comes into the property (Jack plugs into the main XE75 unit), my second unit is in the living room, and the third in the bedroom which can also be easily moved upstairs if needed.I am on my 2nd box. My first set failed at least 4-to-6 times a day and was very frustrating to deal with. I have BB's "Total Tech" service, and was able to replace the first set in about 2 minutes at the store...no hassles whatsoever. The second/new set works flawlessly. Set-it and forget it. The initial setup is a breeze, with several prompts to guide you through the process. The initial setup is a breeze, with several prompts to guide you through the process. In the end, I was able to connect each unit to an ethernet jack, giving me the best performance throughout my home. The setup and configuration is done through your phone and TPLink does a good job setting up many of the defaults. There are several settings that need to be manually configured, and it takes a little while to navigate through the whole app finding the settings to set/change.The first-time setup also included a firmware update, which took about 4 minutes to complete. The only key features of the browser interface is being able to see and download log files, and manually install new firmware.A bonus feature: a setting to turn off the unit LED at a specified time and turn it back on at aa specified time...great for the unit in my bedroom.Overall, my experience has been very good and it was a wise purchase on my part. With 6E and the XE75, I am future proofed for some time to come.

Just don't do it - Not worth it
7 January 2024

When I upgraded my home internet to 1.2 Gbps, I wanted a newer wifi system to take advantage of the speed. I replaced my trusty 6 year old Netgear Orbi wifi with this. Boy do I wish I had not bothered. The system worked for a while, but the last several months have just been an increasing nightmare, as the internet signals slow or drop altogether. I'm no neophyte (my networking experience dates back to the good old days when you had to crimp your own cables) - so I've assured myself the issue is not with the cable modem, internet or interference. TP-Link tech support has been utterly useless - nothing but level 1 form letters ignoring everything I already told them and running me through a pointless list of "turn it off and turn it on" exercises doing nothing to ... MoreWhen I upgraded my home internet to 1.2 Gbps, I wanted a newer wifi system to take advantage of the speed. It's quit commong. As I can't wait for TP-Link to fix this issue, these things are close to getting chucked in the garbage, and I'll bite the bullet and buy a new Netgear , Amplifi or Eero solution. This will be my first (and last) TP-Link purchase. I caution you all to consider alternatives rather than waste your money with this lemon.

Nice worthwhile upgrade

I have a two story home with a workshop out back and needed something to cover the entire area. I was using a wifi extender but did not find it to be satisfactory.A couple of hints. When you set this up you might want to consider using your same SSID name and password that your prior router used. When I did that the router informed me that I could not use the same name and had to do the set up with a different name but could chnage it back after set up. So, I put a 1 after the old name and then removed the 1 after set up. It worked like a charm and all my devices connected.Another hint has to do with the Fast Roaming. It is turned off by default. I did not know how it worked but decided to turn it on. Faster is better...right? I forgot I had turned it on and went ahead with the set up. Only one thing did not work and that was my Ooma Telo for voice over IP, It took me 3 hours of trying everything and finally calling TP-Ling and going to Advance Help to realize that not all old devices support Fast Roaming. As it turns out that is not something that needs to be turned on for most users so leaving it in the default position might be a better way to go. Look it up and you can find some technical information on it. I find that my phone and computer roam just fine as I walk around the house and outside and there are no issues with it being off.If you really want it on you could also try connecting any device that does not work with it to an ethernet cable and that will work. The router defaults to the wifi 6 channel being used as a back channel for the routers. You can turn it on for your use but if you do, then you share that channel with the routers.Another nice little feature is that there is a way to turn the green light off at night should it bother you. Just explore the settings for all kinds of little extras.

Purchased to extend an existing WiFi6 network
15 April 2024

I really like the setup approach - download a mobile app and it guides through the setup. Once set up, adding the second unit was even more simple. There are a couple of drawbacks, discussed below... So I really rate these as something like 4.75 out of 5, but since I can't set fractions, I'm comfortable giving these a 5.I purchased these to extend my network provider's Nokia Wifi6 in a SOHO environment. I found the reference for these on a Wifi6 review page and it said that any Wifi6 can connect to an existing Wifi6 network. But both Nokia's and TP-Link's guided setup limits adding units to just their brand. There may be a way to configure these to join the Nokia network, but I couldn't find it, so these couldn't just be added as nodes to another vendor's Wifi6 ... MoreI really like the setup approach - download a mobile app and it guides through the setup. There may be a way to configure these to join the Nokia network, but I couldn't find it, so these couldn't just be added as nodes to another vendor's Wifi6 mesh.Adding these as a separate network works very well and provides really strong coverage. They just have to be installed using an ethernet cable to connect back to the provider's network and given a different SSID. The good news is that the default SSID can be changed such that it comes very close to the name used for the other network. (Some say that using the same SSID and password can mimic being part of the same network, but the vendors caution against it indicating the devices will interfere with each other). While it doesn't appear that we can add additional SSIDs to the TP-Link ad-hoc, there are already a few predefined that can be put into service (and can be renamed). A guest network is already defined as is an IoT network for your internet-capable appliances so that they remain separated. The TP-Link support folks were very helpful, but they didn't understand a SOHO network, just a simple residential network where IP addresses are assigned by DHCP and not given fixed IPs as is the custom for any planned network. If your use case is to replace your Wifi network or to create a new mesh network, then these work really well.Note to TP-Link, I would really like these to be able to participate in my 'single-pane-of-glass' network monitoring, with a web-based administration app that could manage these after initial setup (e.g. not rely on my mobile app to maintain and monitor these). I'd also like the ability to change the dynamic IP to static so I don't have to do a complete reset/setup in order to change that type of detail.Still, for what they are apparently intended to do - a residential Wifi6 mesh network - they do it very well.

TP Link for life!
29 December 2023

I have been a Netgear fan for 20 years. Before Netgear I had ASUS routers and migrated to Netgear because they make a bunch of networking gear. I have owned every Netgear router that looks like a space age fighter from the AX line that I can safely say I've spent several thousand dollars with Netgear. I had become numb to slow Wi-Fi speeds off of their routers and I kept thinking that another firmware update or maybe I'll just purchase another router and it'll get faster speeds. I've become accustomed to seeking third-party firmware's in order to gain more control through the Netgear interface on their router to no avail. I've become accustomed to seeking third-party firmware's in order to gain more control through the Netgear interface on their router to no avail. I have a gigabit fiber connection into my closet for my provider and have never been able to get anything over 350 or 400 in Wi-Fi speed where the router would always test at 980 960 and so on. You cannot connect to 4K TVs and multiple mobile phones and a work laptop and all of your IOT devices to that type of connection. You're going to get video quality drops and connection drops either on your TV or during your work sessions on the Netgear Wi-Fi network with speeds that slow because it happened to me no matter what I did I did not get good Wi-Fi speeds from Netgear. I have a personal relationship with my internet provider because of how hardcore I got into troubleshooting, packet sniffing, anything that would further identify what the issue was with my Wi-Fi network and all along it's just Netgear and they're crappy products. And they're overpriced too! I am now convinced, having taken 20 minutes to set this mesh network up in my little home that Netgear doesn't care about their customers, taking their money while they distribute super cool looking sub standard performing products with crap firmware updates. And I don't even know anything about mesh networks! I'm saying all of this because this TP link mesh network, OUT OF THE BOX, gives me 900 MB plus speeds with no intricate config at the router no tweaking of the app... it just works. This dang little thing said itself up for me. Not only does it just work out of the box, but I spent $340 bucks on these three satellites. My Netgear RAXE500 was $600, my orbie devices were $1,200, the RAX6000, the 8000 all of those devices are hundreds and hundreds of dollars and this device just worked perfectly out of the box! People are now buying Wi-Fi 7 routers when there aren't any devices to support that and netgear's leading that line with a $2,300 or $2,700 triple satellite Wi-Fi system or if you go look at their reviews they can't get good Wi-Fi speeds off of those products either! What the heck was I thinking with Netgear all these years! I will never go back to Netgear and I will never use another Netgear device no matter how space age they make it look. I am very happy with TP-Link thank you.
