This is a really well made lens, very solid. However, I've aquired the TT Artisan lens hood and jettisoned the screw in lens cap for a conventional clip in.Focusing is problematic however, I had a terrible time with focus peaking (too sensitive) on my Fujifilm XT10. Stick to digital split screen or do it old school. I wear specs and did okay.....eventually. Beware infinity, the marking is off and it focuses in front of the mark..There's a learning curve with this lens, but it does render some nice images. Well worth the money in my view.

Amazing little lens! Buy it!

So, I'm a huge fan of Voigtlander's super fast primes. But the price tag is hefty. I spotted this little lens, read some reviews, and purchased it. At approx 1/10 the price of Voigtlander, I couldn't go wrong with this price tag. If the lens is junk, I'm only out $100. Well worth the risk, I thought.I was right. This little lens feels every bit as solid as it's expensive counterpart, and although the image quality is not quite that of Voigtlander, it takes a darn fine, super shallow depth of field photograph, with pleasing bokeh. I'm a fan, and will be buying some other TTArtisan lenses. Highly recommended!

Before you spend more you might want to try out this lens. I spent more...WAY more...for Zeiss glass and L series lenses and my Olympus Pro series 12-40mm lens. While they're all good...so is this lens. Don't let the low price fool you. This lens is well made and I'm completely satisfied with the pictures it provides. Yes, it's a manual focus only lens...but I like that. I use it with my Olympus OM-D E-M1 mirrorless camera. That camera has in-body image stabilization and the ability to zoom in to make it easy to get perfect focus every time. The image stabilization makes me forget I'm 73 years old and sometimes a bit shaky. To top it all off this silver lens looks great on my silver bodied E-M1 (shown with lens, a cheap generic lens hood, and an RRS L plate).

Better than my way-heavier, and expensive, vintage glass...
17 June 2024

Love this lens both on my Fuji aps-c and Panasonic/Olympus m4/3 cameras for general people and animal portraits and mild telephoto landscapes. Bokeh at open apertures is marvelous and at least as good as my best vintage lenses (some F1.2 and many f1.4), by Canon, Pentax, and Nikon. Might be liquidating some of those, given the new, crazy, used prices. Also, the TTartisans is much lighter and smaller, especially because of not needing an adapter. Highly recommended!

Excellent Lens for the price
26 September 2024

I recently purchased this lens and I'm in love. I'm new to shooting with a manual lens after a few adjustments I fell in love with the sharpness of the image. This lens forced me to be more comfortable shooting in manual, no turning back. 10 out of 10 I would recommend.

Happy I made this purchase
28 February 2021

It's my very first manual lens and I'm happy with this purchase. I watched a few promo reviews on youtube and I knew what to expect. I love the solid build, aperture ring is very smooth and clicks are soft and nice. Focus ring is very smooth as well. It's a real pleasure to shoot! Picture quality is great and sharp enough starting from 1.8 There are some chromatic aberrations, but I'm fine with it, especially considering the price.

High quality manual focus lens
25 August 2021

I bought it for GH5. With this compact size I can have a 100mm and 140mm with ex tele convert on ( In 4k mode). and with the amazing ibis and is lock, you got yourself a handheld 140mm steady shots. I put this combo in my shoulder bag. When I am doing wedding, I have one or two cameras on tripod, and I have this combo in my bag and I can take it out anytime to shoot some reaction shots. Super useful. I was about to sold ny GH5. but with this combo, it revive again.

Punches way above its weight. For stills AND video applicati

Nothing to add that hasn't already been stated but this is by far the best value for money lens I have ever used. I've come to realize that the game certainly has changed and buying $1000 lenses just for the name or that extra 5% of quality/rendering/etc. just doesn't make sense for many applications. While I bought this lens primarily as an interview lens for my GH5 I've also been having alot of fun with it slapped on my GX85. I've attached a recent photo that really shows what this lens is capable of.

So far so good!
8 March 2024

I purchased this lens for some portrait work. I've used it a couple of times since receiving it and so far it's been a great addition to my photo gear. It takes lovely photos and is easy to use. The manual focus forces me to slow down and really pay attention to what I'm shooting, which is helpful for portrait work. For the price, I've been pleased with the results so far!

Surprisingly Good
4 August 2022

This lens is an exception to the typical products put out by this company, which are mostly questionable. I watch the review on this lens made by Lens Bench on YouTube and had my interest piqued, so I decided to give it a shot. This thing is amazingly well corrected and performing. My only criticism is that it could use more focus resistance, it's too easy to shift focus, and not surprisingly it has some field curvature, but other than that it's an incredibly good lens, especially for the price. Have a look at the Lens Bench review and see how it easily outperforms the Contax Zeiss 50mm. Really.
