Ubiquiti Amplifi Alien Mesh Router - Wi-Fi 6

This is my second unit so i could setup a mesh in my house. So easy to configure and I love the Screen easy to see the usage at a glance. Configuration is all done from the phone very few settings but everything just works. Great signal strength. The Guest wifi is great for people visiting but i really wish you could set a password as all it does is provide an open network for the time you set.

Set up was super easy, works a charm. Signal strength is excellent despite not looking like a robotic spider. I have a 100mbps FTTP NBN connection (jelly?) and clocked this baby at 106mbps download **over WiFi**. The LCD display and green light make it look sooo purty. Oh, and the green light around her base turns itself off at some point in the evening so it won?t light up a room when you want your home to dark at night. Couldn?t be happier with this purchase.

Router keeps dropping internet signal, apparently newer iphone 12 and 13 in our homes couldn't stay connected, I tried all the available setting suggestions on AmpliFi community forums but no use. I will be returning it back

I am with 2degress and have Fritzbox 7490 fibre modem /router attached to my fibre connection. I bought this product based on another review which said that it gave double the range and 4x the speed compared to the Fritzbox. What I hadn't fully appreciated is that this purely a router and cant be connected direct to fibre. Effectively you are just plugging it into your fritzbox / modem and then using this and in our case a second Alien Router to create a mesh network. Which is exactly why I purchased it, but the download upload speeds varied markedly depending on what device you were running. Unless you are using a high performance phone or gaming device you probably wont get close to using the top data speeds. We also had a fibre plan that wasn't top speed so this limited performance. But as I have 3 boys aged between 15 and 25 the multi channels means that not only have I got decent internet everywhere it can handle the jandle when everyone piles on. Unlike the poor fritzbox that would just grind to a halt. Only had this a day but so far pleased with the purchase

Amazing wifi

Amazing oh product the wifi speed and strength are great. I highly recommend getting two of these instead of the mesh pack. 2 mins to setup super easy. Only down side is you can QoS wired devices but you can for wifi. I’m sure they will fix this up but great product.

Best router I've used

This is one of the best routers I've used. I've been buying my own routers for years over the ones issued by my ISP. This router was easy to set up - just know you're ISP user name and password, that will help. All wired and wireless connections work a treat, with fantastic coverage around the house. Great WiFi6 to my phone and great speeds across the house too. Plus looks amazing, real eye catcher.

Four and half Stars

Looks fantastic with a lot of features within the touch screen (speed tests, connected device names etc.). i would easily purchase this device again and have recommended it to customers but for a large home/difficult layout I would say get the extra meshing device to be able to extend the fast speeds to all corners of your home. the only reason I give it 4 stars is because there are no half stars and i have had some difficulties setting up, but the wizard app does help you diagnose problems. Scorptec had this delivered at lighting speed also they deserve 5 stars for their service

Powerful and far reaching

Instantly doubled my old routers speed and tripled my distance. Use to suffer constant drop outs as well especially in heavy rain. Now I’ve had constant connection. What makes it impressive is it’s plugged into my old modem/router.

Really fast and great design

This router gets amazing speeds and low latency even though I work upstairs and this sits on the ground floor under the stairs. And the touch screen on it is great!

This machine is awesome. Connectivatey issues with broadband supplied modem have gone. Setup was very easy. I would recommend this to a friend.
