This is a great device but requires good working knowledge of all things PC & network related. If your not use to the Ubiquiti eco-system will be confusing to set up. Instructions often have assumed knowledge basis the most annoying thing of all with anything Hi Tech. The lag in the app when setting up can lead you into believing you have' nt done something right, be very slow and methodical when setting up wait a few moment between steps. Way more functions are available if using dedicated Ubiquiti ethernet switches but can used with other switches and I have done so myself.Functions very well though.

We've been using this for a month now in our small house and have noticed a ~200Mbps (significant) bump in performance over our previous model (UAP-nanoHD).pros:- provides great coverage- provides great throughputcons:- does not include a PoE injector (but most don't these days)

I replaced the 2nd generation AP-AC-Pro with this 6th generation AP.This also use a Qualcomm chip IPQ5018/AP-MP03.1-C2, two ARMv7 Processor rev 4 (v7l) CPU, 1GB RAM and 4GB storage.The single U6-Pro installed in the garage and covers the whole house using a "medium" signal strength and about 20 WiFi devices.I was torn between the U6-Pro and the Aruba AP22.The AP22 has better 2.4 GHz performance, and arguably a more robust, stable firmware.But I am not keen on the Aruba cloud managed only AP software idea.So far, everything just worked on the U6-Pro, it runs cool and works reliably so far for weeks.

Amazing WiFi from a great brand.

A super fast Wi-Fi router with good range.Combined with the Unifi interface (which I have as I use the fantastic value Unifi Security Gateway for security at home) it provides incredible features and the ability for crazy levels of configuration, all through a nice interface. Well into the realm of far more expensive solutions. You can tell this system would scale with ease to larger or multi-site installs. I have to say Ubiquiti products have been 10/10 for me so far, and this wont be the last device of theirs I buy.

For the Prosumers out there - Unifi is the way.

Replaced my AC-Pro which with this access point.- Devices are stable (seems a little more stable than U6-Lite I had for a while)- Was able to use the same mounting point- Seems to have a little more reach for devices than the AC-ProI've got a U6-Mesh and this U6-Pro connected to a USG. Some 40+ clients in a 5500 sqft house and all are happy.

Great AP, but non-IT types beware

Here there be dragons! This is a professional level device, and needs at least a reasonable level of IT expertise to get the most of it. Also it absolutely needs either a Dream machine/router to be the heart of the system, or you need to be fully comfortable building a Linux server to host the Unifi host software. I personally already had an Ubuntu server I used as a custom firewall, so I deployed the software there to run the system.I see all these questions about PoE injectors... that means you're doing it wrong. I was fortunate enough to have Cat 5e drops in nearly every room leading back to my closet, so my clothes closet doubles as a wiring closet.About the AP itself, it has better reach and features than any consumer grade device, which is what I wanted it for. I have 2 of these and 2 of the 6 Minis deployed around my sprawling 1 story house, and every device has near perfect Wi-Fi now, as does my front and back yards. Not a cheap investment when you include the 16 port Unifi switch at the heart of it, but yay for PoE on every device, multiple VLANs, channel/bandwidth tuning, locking devices to specific APs, etc.

Great WiFi 6 AP

Another great AP from Ubiquiti. Replaced a U6 Lite with this one to get better range and somewhat higher speeds. Keep in mind speed will be limited by the client's hardware (a lot of products with WiFi 6 only have 2x2).Mounting hardware was also a pleasant surprise. It came with mounts for pretty much any scenario, including a plate for mounting on the existing electrical box I had for the cat 6 port.

So I take out my phone and scan it, just to be brought to a guide for how to mount the AP to the wall. Well, most people are going to make sure it works first, before pounding holes in the wall, and most people are also going to wonder how to get it to work...which is the hard part.You will need PoE (which it does state this when ordering), then after plugging it in you need to download the Unifi app on your computer. It would be nice if there was a quick start card in the box that says this, but no. Isn't Java a major security risk and hardly ever used anymore? Doesn't matter, if you want to use this AP, you need it. The website they direct you to for the Java 11 download is also confusing difficult to use.Finally, after you install Java and the Ubiquiti app, you THEN need to create an online username and password. You can then finally login to the AP and use it BUT if you want to see that stats, you need to have the app open.There is no logging in under a local network address, forget about it.I'm completely disgusted with Ubiquiti and I will never buy any of their products again.

Not Your Grandfather's Ubiquiti

The access point is fine, solid design and all the parts required to mount it to any type of fixture.It performs as expected, except for using the Ubiquiti controller. This was a hair pulling awful experience that took two hours to get the AP to be adopted by a fresh install of the controller.It doesn't matter how great the AP is if you can't get it configured. This one took far longer than it should have taken.

Not for the uninitiated

Once installed these products are excellent. But if you don't have IT experience you need some for installation of don't get the products. They have help through FAQ web pages and email, but there is no way of speaking to anyone. It may be Ubiquiti's most amazing achievement. you can't speak to anyone even if you call corporate headquarters.
