Ultimate Ears Everboom Wireless Bluetooth Speaker (Black) (984-001872)

I’ll start by saying this speaker truly delivers on all its promises - an incredible Bluetooth range, fantastic bass, beautiful outdoor sound quality when the function is toggled on, and convenient portability! I’m not the type to need to use its flotation or waterproof functions, but if you are, those are solid as well. My only suggestion - don’t bother downloading the EQ app they recommend to use with the product! Luckily, it isn’t required to download for setup or use - it’s offered as kind of a bonus, to allow for toggling between connected users and adjusting sound quality specifics for the type of music you plan to play. I did download it to give it a look, but it’s just not a very well-designed app. It’s pretty clunky and doesn’t provide much functionality, ... MoreI’ll start by saying this speaker truly delivers on all its promises - an incredible Bluetooth range, fantastic bass, beautiful outdoor sound quality when the function is toggled on, and convenient portability! I did download it to give it a look, but it’s just not a very well-designed app. It’s pretty clunky and doesn’t provide much functionality, in my opinion. That’s the only reason for the loss of one star! Since you aren’t obligated to use it, though, if you plan to EQ, just do it through your music app. Overall, it’s a really wonderful speaker! I highly recommend it, both for indoor or outdoor use.

Just recently, I got hold of the Ultimate Ears EVERBOOM and it truly lived up to its name of being the ultimate outdoor Bluetooth speaker that is also easily portable. The 360° sound and big bass are amazing, producing a well-balanced and immersive audio experience. On the speaker, I can adjust the sound according to my preference with the customizable EQ modes through the UE BOOM app which makes it fantastic since this can accommodate for different environments and events, whether I’m outdoors or indoors and partying or relaxing. One of its most distinctive features is the battery life—it can stay on for 20 hours—which is unlike other speakers I’ve had in the past that I need to constantly recharge or keep plugged in. One of its most distinctive features is the battery life—it can stay on for 20 hours—which is unlike other speakers I’ve had in the past that I need to constantly recharge or keep plugged in. People who listen music while traveling or while having a party don’t need to worry about this issue with the amazing battery life. Also, the fact that the speaker is both waterproof and floatable is an incredibly unique attribute, making it ideal for fun outdoor occasions such as pool parties or barbecues. Though it is slightly heavy, it’s compact enough to fit into almost all handbags I carry around with me wherever I go, so I can always have it on me when I need it. There is an impressive range of connectivity that allows me move around while staying connected without interruption. I tried it at the park and walked far away and was still able to stay connected and keep the fun going. Another thing that I enjoy about this speaker is the paring feature which allows for connection and syncing with other models from Ultimate Ears providing an even bigger sound experience and permits me to connect with my friends music tastes. My best friend has a Mega Boom so we are going to sync our speakers for louder more immersive music at our next party. I also really appreciate the sleek appearance of the speaker. I think the volume up and down buttons being on front of the speaker is really practical so you don’t accidentally hit a different button and turn off the speaker. Also, the black and lime green is really attractive and tech-forward and the marbling of the lime green specks into the top and bottom of the speaker makes it look super cool and slick on my shelf. Overall, the Ultimate Ears EVERBOOM speaker is an exceptional speaker with great, crystal-clear sound quality, impressive battery life, easy use for on-the-go, and many customizable options through the UE Boom app. Would highly recommend this speaker, especially for someone who needs something for the indoors and outdoors and likes to have fun!

I’ve been using this speaker for the past few days with family for outdoor usage, and it’s absolutely gnarly. We were actually really surprised at how loud this thing got, and the amount of dynamic range (bass, treble) the EVERBOOM throws out is great for its size. We were genuinely surprised at how much power is in this package. Another feat that we thought this speaker excelled at was battery life. We used it for 3 days, about 4-5 hours each, with no charging in-between. The battery life is extremely solid. Also, the waterproofing is a really nice feature as well. Brought this in the shower to test, and worked perfectly during a rinse. Haven’t tested out floating with submerging the speaker in water, but will be testing this weekend with a trip to the lake! Only real gripe is using the outdoor boost function while out and about. Can’t really tell the difference with it on or off, both sound. Also, the app is a bit of a pain to navigate, but you don’t have to use it, it works as a regular Bluetooth speaker. Overall, it definitely gets 5 stars from me. Very high quality speaker for the price point.

Everboom portable speaker review

Straight out of the box this speaker was very easy to switch on and set up searching for a Bluetooth device. The app was also super easy to set up and then paired with the speaker. The remote control aspect of the app also works well. The product is very well manufactured and looks stylish. It has a simple, solid design. The big plus and minus volume controls are simple and fun to use, and being able to use this outside now makes gardening much more of a pleasure, especially with the outside boost function! It boosts the lower frequencies that would not normally be as audible out of my phone's microphone. It is easy to carry and pick up with one hand at 1.2kgs and I use it around the house wherever I am working.I have used with my iphone and ipad and the sound ... MoreStraight out of the box this speaker was very easy to switch on and set up searching for a Bluetooth device. It is easy to carry and pick up with one hand at 1.2kgs and I use it around the house wherever I am working.I have used with my iphone and ipad and the sound quality is excellent. The materials used feel tactile and weather resistant. The silicone base means the speaker can be put down on a damp/wet surface and won't be damaged; it just needs a wipe down with a dry cloth. The carabina is a nice touch and could be useful for attaching to a bag on the go!The only downside is - the physical buttons on the top are responsive, however they are far too minimally labelled. The temporary film cover includes written labels, but once this is taken off, you're reliant on memory. The hard to make out icons have no distinction against the base silicone they are printed on, so I shall leave the film cover on.Overall I am enjoying using this speaker which has 20 hours of playtime and allows me to control my music directly from the speaker, clear user instructions are included together with a 2 year guarantee.

Highly recommended speaker

This EVERBOOM portable speaker is an excellent example of crystal clear sound and ease of use, coupled with long battery life and great portability. On opening the box, there is a quick use simple guide to getting the best out of the speaker. USB-C cable for charging. There are three white led lights that illuminate to indicate charge status. It's waterproof and 20 hours of battery life.I use this in my garden and the sound is clear can be heard clearly from 10 metres away, no distortion. We use this as a replacement for our hot tub speakers as they sound tinny and distort, this speaker is amazing, clear and concise sound, waterproof stops me from worrying about placement when outdoors.I now use this speaker round my house rather than using my smart devices the sound is perfect.Handy carabiner for carrying or attaching. I highly recommend this speaker, the product quality and price are amazing.

Impressive Speaker

The speaker comes securely packaged with a USB C cable and quick start up instructions, great that it is partly made from recycled plastic. I found it straightforward to sync to my phone and become familiar with the buttons on the top. The + and - volume controls are a fluorescent green and there are speckles of the same colour on the top and bottom panels. The speaker is very sturdy and overall the look is modern and simple.I uploaded the Ultimate Ears app onto my phone, and am becoming familiar with the features, the speaker can be turned on and off via the app and does have a microphone facility. I especially like the different EQ settings, which are signature, bass boost, cramped spaces, deep relaxation and podcast/vocal. I will use the last one frequently as I am an avid podcast listener.I also garden and took the speaker into my little greenhouse whilst working, using the carabiner supplied to hang it, I could move away with my phone and the connectivity didn't falter. The outdoor boost button certainly enhanced the sound, but to my ears the sound quality is amazing anyway, I don't think I would ever need full volume. I haven't tested the waterproof aspect, but no doubt it will get caught in a downpour sooner or later.Overall this is a fantastic speaker for all round use with a long 20 hour battery life and a great connectivity range.

Neat speaker with super sound quality

This speaker was so easy to set up. I was able to use it straight from the box; connecting via bluetooth on my phone. It came ready charged with 40% battery. Very well boxed and is a really neat sized speaker. It comes provided with a carabiner; useful to hook onto a high level setup so the sound is elevated, and also comes with a charging cable (no plug included).I downloaded the UE boom app which gives some nice control features. It's a simple setup and apparently allows for up to 150 paired speakers!... Maybe I'll look to get a 2nd speaker for a stereo setup. You can remotely turn the speaker on and off via the app which is useful. I haven't tried the 'one touch' playlist as Spotify isn't currently supported. Only Apple and Amazon music services seem to be compatible. It has a very clear and crisp sound with deep bass. The five presets of EQ on the app are useful but is also fully adjustable to sound preference. 'Bass Boost' preset gives a richer deep sound proving this small speaker can hit a quality sound. Some tracks struggled in hitting full bass so may need to switch the EQ depending type of music listening to, to avoid any distortion.Thankfully I've not yet dropped the speaker so can't comment on durability but it certainly feels a sturdy speaker.I have tested it out in the pool and it does float and still works with good sound. Not sure I would have it bobbing around the pool but safe knowing if it were to be knocked in the water it would survive.A really well made robust speaker and has all the features you would need for parties and gatherings. I would fully recommend this if you are looking for an outdoor portable speaker.

Perfect for normal speaker use, great outside for rugged use

I'm pleased to have the opportunity to try this speaker, it's proven a great speaker, easy to use and absolutely perfect for use where it's wet, or in a sandy/dusty place. This robustness makes it ideal when on the beach or at a pool, it can be immersed in water and even floats! So it's perfect for a day at a sandy seaside. Not only that, for me I used in in my workshop safe in the knowledge that, being waterproof, it is also fine with dust and dirt too. So, for a workshop or a DIYer or builder on-site, absolutely great. The speaker's matt black with a slight yellow speckled finish. The battery lasts a claimed 20hrs, and that looks realistic. Then you're off, just play your music or favourite radio station. The speaker's about 20cm/8inch high and is weighty enough to not just fall over or indeed blow over in a breezy outdoors. In use the speaker has quite a heavy base, but the Ultimate Ears phone app allows you to easily tune the sound using the graphic equaliser - see the pics of the app. I used the Podcast/Vocal setting as personally I preferred a bit less base for my music. There's quite a few difference sound tune settings. But many will like the slightly bassy sound. And turn it up and it really bangs out the sounds with decent quality. So, a great speaker for all round use but much more usable as it can go outdoors, get wet and dusty. I wouldn't hesitate to suggest a family member or friend gets one.

Small but mighty!

This is an amazing very portable speaker.
