Un Jardin Sur Le Nil by Hermes Eau De Toilette Spray 30ml

Since it is that wonderful holiday time of the year I found myself in Sephora wandering around checking out make up products and fragrances. I had only ever smelled Hermes perfumes in department stores but never the Eau de toilettes. I am incredibly disappointed that I hadn't tested these sooner! The Un Jardin Sur Le Nil is such a fresh clean scent reminiscent of a fresh garden. I absolutely love it and this may end up being my new every day scent. I did not however end up purchasing from #sephora as they only had smaller sizes available. The gift set was from #Saks5thAvenue. I highly recommend this scent, the price is similar to other higher end brands e.g. Chanel.

Unfortunately big minuses are that this is a light scent and it doesn’t last long, I need to spray a lot to make sure my husband could smell anything on me, and the product is a way pricey…

Beautiful! Smell like a fresh garden

This is one of the most unique spring/summer scents I’ve ever smelled. Tested it out in-store and immediately purchased a small bottle. Makes you smell like you’ve been in a fresh green citrusy garden. The tomato and piney mango is such a unique fresh blend. Not your typical citrus fragrance smell, which is great because a lot of citrus perfumes tend to smell the same. This one stands out to me. I only wish it lasted a bit longer, but that’s not a big deal to me. I don’t mind spritzing a little more. Will be wearing in the spring a lot.

Light fragrance, but not for me

I was SO excited to receive this fragrance in exchange for an honest review and wanted to love it, unfortunately that wasn't the case. Upon first application, I senced a strong alcohol aroma. The longer I had it on, I started to develop a headache. Since I was wanting to love it, I tried it a second time. The description of the fragrance was one I was so interested in, light airy, fresh. I asked my husband his opinion of it, and he scrunched his nose in disapproval despite my best efforts to seduce him with my new fragrance. It's definitely not a super pungent scent, so I do believe it lives up to the expectations of the essence they describe in their description, unfortunately it's just not my cup of tea (or my husband's for that matter).

Smells Fancy But Not Elderly

Floral tones persist for about two days when sprayed on my linen bedsheets. Two sprays are enough to cover the whole room. The original fragrance lasts six months, I either need to use it more often or get a smaller bottle. The fragrance progression will leave lily as the strongest smell in about a day and a half, followed by wood notes by the end of day two. Spraying this on clothes in your closet will keep them fragranced for 2 weeks. I wish the fragrance remained stable for more than six months. I usually get fragrance headaches, but handle this well.

Such a UNIQUE & fresh scent!!

This is a UNIQUE scent that I absolutely LOVE!!! I prefer very 'fresh' scents that primarily have 'green' & 'herbal' notes. And I do NOT like anything that is fruity or sweet--which seems to be what most scents on the market tend to be these days. 'Un Jardin Sur le Nil' definitely falls in the category of 'green/herbal.' And it's a WONDERFUL fragrance! So, if you love scents like Perlier/Victor 'Green Tea,' or Isabella Rossellini's 'Manifesto' or Elizabeth Arden's 'Green Tea,' then you may very well fall in love with this scent (like I did)!

This has been my signature

This has been my signature scent for probably almost 20 years now. It's a crisp kind of fresh, almost citrusy, and it's subtle. I've tried other perfumes over the years and always come immediately back to this. Any kind of sweet or heavy perfumes can trigger a headache and even make me nauseous. I often get compliments about smelling good, but never until someone hugs me. I like that people aren't smelling me from a distance!

Unique! Beautiful, natural aura.

Uplifting and refreshing fragrance.Wonderful grapefruit note on opening, follow by tangy green mango with cool breeze of lotus, orange and hayacinth.It's very soft with spicy notes that don't really stand out to my nose.Splash of citrus, green and watery notes, with this beautiful combination it smells clean, fresh, but with more depth.The longevity of this fragrance isn't really fantastic, I am afraid. Doesn't last much more than 4-5 hrs on me. Still, this can be different to each person, and the scent itself it's so gorgeous it doesn't really affect my rating and has been my favourite scent since I discovered it 3 years ago.Definitely great addition to any perfume collection.

Used, damaged, and possibly counterfeit.

The box arrived dented on the inside and the nozzle was broken.It sprayed a straight stream and leaked down the side of the bottle. There were also very small particles floating in the bottle.I believe it had been used by someone, returned, and then sent to me. After looking at it, I am not sure that it is authentic Hermes.The reviews look suspicious as well. Many five stars but no details? Hmm. Buyer beware, I’d say.

I am extremely happy with this fragrance! I have the original and this comes very, very close. My opinion is it gets a 9 - 9.5 out of 10 for comparison to the original Hermes scent. It lasts relatively long enough to not have to worry about reapplying - unless something about what you do physically wears down on it. I am a very, very active person and it seems to dissipate by afternoon. It's pretty fresh, sharp, and clean and I put it on in the morning before I work out. Even then you can still find a faint whiff later in the day in the spots where you have applied it. I am only able to stomach a few scents that don't give me a headache - always ones on the summer spring side, if you will, and this one does not bother me one bit.
