This phone system is great! The repeater actually works and takes nothing to set up, the yellow handset has been in the garden (wet/dropped) and still works, clear call quality. It was working on normal phone line and we have now been upgraded to NBN and the phone still works through modem. Answering machine is easy to use, in fact all of it is easy to use. The T-coil function is handy although I am not convinced it is as good as it could be (although it is not I who uses this function). Long list of useful features

We were after a long range cordless phone set for a country property and this UNIDEN XDECT 8355+3WPR has totally lived up to its reputation. We needed to be able to get a signal from the main house to a very solidly constructed shed some 100 plus meters away with structures in the way. We have a full 4 bars and cannot recommend this system more highly. It comes with a whole range of features too many too mention and is incredibly easy to set up. The base station being able to be powered by a handset during a power outage was a particularly impressive feature.

Purchased this flash looking set to replace a super old set of cordless home phones that were really crackly in the sound. Overall pretty impressive, good range, lots of functions and super clear to speak on. Bluetooth mobile connection is ok but not wizard magic, it’s essentially the same as your car Bluetooth and works on making the call from the mobile, as I live in a terrible reception area I’d sooner my mobile calls come through the house, also once connected always connected unless you disconnect so frustrating when babies in bed and someone calls my mobile = home phone goes. But good, well pleased with the outdoor/hard handset, would definitely buy again, worth the extra money
Vodafone doesn't support this phone. So I had to return it. Could not even receive a call from my mobile. It did ring. But for that it is overkill.
After all the good reviews I had high expectations. However, I was rather disappointed. The ringtone is not very loud even set at the maximum. The sound quality when on a call is only average and often there is static. In fact, the sound is not as good as the 20 yr old Uniden it replaced. Connection to my mobile more often than not does not work. Have not tried it on NBN so hope it works when we get it.
Uniden has always been an excellent product and I have been happy with my previous set for many years. Not sure what the issue is with the old one - hand sets would ring but could not hear or be heard via the connection. It may be something to do with the NBN system we have had to move to, but it has worked with that system for well over a year. Again, excellent quality.
Replacing a 15 year old Uniden 3 handset with base that was now unclear with VOIP over NBN. New Uniden 8355 performs very well and is clear sound. I have impaired hearing but the sound is clear enough that I don't need to use the T-Coil facility in the unit. The Range Extender is also very helpful as the house is effectively 3 stories.
It a perfect solution for elderly parents to have four handsets in the household. We have the main base and first handset in the kitchen, 2nd handset in the main bedroom, 3rd handset in the study and the forth waterproof handset in the main bathroom. Very handy when you receive a call during bathroom time. Another big bonus is that with this unit and its Bluetooth capability, you can link the unit with up to four mobile phones using Bluetooth. That way you can answer a call from your mobile phone on the handset as well as any incoming calls from the landline. This is really important where you have poor mobile phone reception inside your home.
Not a big advance on the Telstra/Uniden answer phone we bought 4 years ago! It does however seem to handle the NBN fibre to the premesis better than the old one. Just as well as it was for this reason we upgraded.The manual said that it would not take messages from mobiles! Really! A call to Uniden's 1300 help line fixed this - a very competent person there said the manual was "wrong" and guided me through a fix.The navigation buttons on the handsets are too small for my big fingers.The "Phonebook" is cumbersome and doesn't take advantage of the LED display.
