I'm using this with my iMac and it has exceeded my exepectations. Top quality ad/da conversion, the L2 2a and Pultec plugins blew me away because they sound and work so close to the real ones I have I can barely tell the difference, the response is so authentic to the hardware. at this price point you can't beat the sound or the quality. Very happy indeed!

Amazing audio interface! AAA+++

The sound quality of this audio interface is amazing! It sounds so good & the mic preamps are A+++. I'm really happy that I upgraded my gear with this one. Plus you're getting a bunch of plug-ins with it!

Product itself of fine. Policies terrible

Overall:Pros: The product itself is good. Came on time and unharmed. Cons: Doesn’t come with thunderbolt 3 cable. Missed that in the very fine print I’m sure. Refund policy prevents me from returning or exchanging product just because I opened it. Now I’m stuck with it unless I sell it. So disappointed. Also the set up isn’t the most convenient. Supposed to be plug and play and it took over an hour to figure out having to download the right drivers and google the fact that I had to tell my computer To allow it permission and all.... just too much. All in all, product it’s good, would not recommend getting it from this sight in which I was already skeptical about in the first place.

You truly feel the connection between your DAW (Logic Pro X in my case) and the interface. The sound quality and ease of use makes the unit a dream to work with. The buttons are well thought out and positioned in a manner that makes for a very intuitive experience overall. The most significant feature is the onboard DSP chips which takes the workload off of your computer. That feature along with unmatched effects plugins and the capability to record on the way in through true world class preamp emulations with undetectable latency is immensely powerful. Truly a industry standard unit. Buy this and have no regrets for settleing for something much more inferior and subpar.

Thunderbolt and Windows

Thunderbolt 2 was the standard supplied with the unit whilst my new PC had Thunderbolt 4 installed. They do not work together at all! :(The guys allowed me to swap to the USB model and all is great now, very happy. Thankyou.

I recommend this for those who are trying to make top quality recordings. Just grab a good mic and cable, then plug it up to the Apollo. There is a bit of a learning curve, but you should still be able to get something recorded the first day you get it.The plug-ins that come with this device are really good. Just spend some time experimenting with the parameters of the plug-ins as much as possible, and eventually you’ll find a sound to your liking. UA stopped support for firewire devices - Problems with OS Big Sur

Overall:This device which I bought for $800 a year ago (August 2020) is not compatible with a 2019 macbook pro / OS Big Sur, the reason being that Universal Audio has recently stopped support (and i guess driver compatibility dev?) for firewire devices. The reason why i found out is because while recording audio from a high paying client in the field, there was distortion and audio drop outs recording only one mic and having the I/O buffer rate to almost the highest, 1024, and after changing it to 2048 which is the max I still had distortion. Browsing the UAD forums for help and driver updates led me to find out that UA is not supporting firewire anymore. My advice would be dont buy UAD devices, or if you do get something that uses USB C.
