The best Audio interface I've ever owned, I know people are saying that as computers become more powerful that latency will no longer be a problem, so why buy equipment with on board DSP but believe me, this is so reliable and and sounds amazing

I started using this in my professional level home studio about a week ago. Since then it has been amazing! No latency and the performers seem to enjoy working with it as well.

This hardware/software collective has already proved its value within the first week of use. I recently upgraded from a Presonus FireStudio Tube to the UA Apollo x8p and am beyond pleased. The hardware is a well-designed unit with seamless software integration allowing easy live tracking with guitar (Hi- Z 1 Marshall Bluesbreaker Plugin), bass (Hi- Z 1 Ampeg Plugin), scratch vocals, drums (Glynn Johns three-mic) in my home studio. The plugin package is second to none. Powerful tools that extend any DAW throughout the entire songwriting process, from tracking an idea, through mixing & mastering, to distribution. As an active singer-songwriter, ease of use, low latency, and improving productivity are what interfaces need to deliver. This unit delivers and then some. Yes, it is an investment, but with productivity increases, saved time, and reducing the need to outsource, the hardware should pay for itself within a year. It currently comes with a free Satalite promotion, taking the processing power from my laptop to the interface.
Love this new piece of hardware. I got the Apollo Twin a while ago but having more inputs gives me so many more options.Love being able to record with no latency and without pushing the CPU (keeps my fan off, my battery safe, I have way more options, and it's so much easier to use / transition between recording and mixing). The only problem is I won't be able to go back to anything else.
I was asked if this item was a good value. My only choices were yes or no. Its a difficult question to answer in one word. I would say this...while it is an expensive piece of gear it is well worth it if you plan to do some serious audio recording. It is pro level quality in every way. You get what you pay for.
Was patiently waiting for new Apollo interfaces, upgrading from a mk1 UA Apollo Twin – had my eye on the 8p for a year, and then boom: x8p announced and Anderton's had it on announcement day! No complaints, an amazing piece of kit. Loving using it. UA are a great company.
Great gear ....even to Germany...long live Europe...
I've been looking at these almost since the time I began my home studio. I've been using a mixer/interface from another maker for more than 7 years and it served me well. With a recent upgrade to a new laptop with Thunderbolt I/O, I took the plunge. This isn't an inexpensive unit but, I was able to get this on sale during MF's Presidents Day Sale and UA was offering a bunch of free DSP plugins as part of the deal. Collin, my sales associate was over-the-top helpful. As far as the sound quality, ease of use and ability to integrate with my system, I couldn't be happier. Everything pulled together quickly. With multiple methods of connecting other gear, this has become the center of all of my audio playback. The onboard DSP plugin processing has helped relieve some of ... All together a win - win for me. Highly recommended if you can afford it.
