Universal Audio UAFX Enigmatic '82 Overdrive Special Amp

Great in combination with my other NI and UAD plug ins. A very welcomed addition

Authentic Sounding Easy To Dial In With or Without The App

Overall:I purchased right here on zZounds. The Enigmatic to my ears sounds like a Dumble Amp for sure. This pedal has very straight forward settings and sounds great with my Fender Princeton and Deluxe Reverb. The speaker cabinets and “Room” adjustments are what I really love. It adds a dimension to the tone you don’t typically get with your every day guitar pedal. This pedal transforms my amp to Dumble. It completely changes the sound. It inspires me to play more. I play for hours with this pedal. When you purchase you will want to connect it to your computer and install the UA connector software. I play for hours with this pedal. When you purchase you will want to connect it to your computer and install the UA connector software. This will register it and give you three bonus speakers/cabs which sound great on my amp. I had thought I wouldn’t be able to use them through my amp. That’s not the case. In fact I love to try different speaker/cab/mic settings and adjust the Room knob. You don’t need to rely on the app. It just has factory and Artist presets. You can also access your favorites and if you save your settings you can rename and access those. If the app aspect is a turn off, then you don’t have to use it and can use this pedal as a traditional pedal and dial in your own settings on the fly. If you don’t use the app, when you save your setting you can access your last save with the Preset Foot switch “Switch on right”. The left foot switch is labeled Amp. This engages the pedal and however your settings “dials” are set, that’s what you will hear. This is an awesome pedal well worth the investment. It’s inspired me to play more and I just love how well constructed this pedal is. Seems to be built well.

I will never be rich enough to buy a Dumble, so...

... I got this one, instead. I don't know if the modelled amps are identical to an Dumbles, but they sound good and most importantly *feel* good under the fingers. It's not a straightforward pedal, though. There are loads of toanz in here so be prepared to spend some time tweaking.

Knocks it out of the park!

I have almost all of the UAFX amp in a box pedals. Of all the UAFX models, this unit makes the most logical sense. Dumbles, legendary amps that few can find or afford. My personal opinion, this pedal is great and nails the Dumble sound. Thanks UAFX for saving me $350K........um yeah right, I wish! Thanks AMS for keeping all of us stocked up with killer gear!

Review of Universal Audio UAFX Enigmatic '82 Overdrive Special Amp Pedal

This is a very comprehensive pedal. It delves into so many facets of so many models of D style amps and does so with some very good sounds. It does a great big clean sound that works great as a pedal platform. It can also go very high gain.I struggled with the amount of options. I’m a simple man who usually limits pedals to 3 knobs.. 4 at a push. So controlling this via a mobile phone app was very frustrating and yielded mixed results.I ended up returning mine, but it’s worth stating that I did so in favour of using my Two Rock amp into an Ox Box.The Enigmatic is a great amp emulation, and that’s fine for many people, but I was left cold.

Wow!

I love this amp pedal. Easy to use (haven't played with the app too much). Plugged her in and after a few minutes familiarizing myself with it, it made me just want to play for hours! You will not regret this purchase!
