Valentino Uomo Born in Roma The Gold EDT - 100ml

This fragrance is easily in my top favorite fragrances. The first thing I noticed about it is how large the bottle is and the design of the bottle itself. I feel like the size is great for the price point and the design is like a work of art. It’s perfect for displaying on a dresser or anywhere else in the home where others could see and admire it. The scent lasts longer than other fragrances I’ve tried in the past. Usually I would have to reapply my fragrance later in the day but not with this one. The scent lasts all day long. Although the design is no different from the other Valentino bottles, if this is your first bottle (like it is mine), you will love it on the design alone. It’s bright smooth and airy powdery fragrance, it’s not super thick/dense vanilla fragrance, and I would say that it can be worn in wormer weather. It’s not really a new, never seen before scent profile, you could find similarities to other fragrances since it’s an amber vanilla fragrance, which are common notes in perfumery. I would also say that it’s an unisex fragrance despite the bottle design being the one from the man’s line. The longevity on me is average, around 5-6 hours on skin and a bit longer on clothing, after all it’s an edt. When I first saw that I'd be receiving this I looked up the fragrance and was excited to receive this based on the notes. They seemed to be in line with fragrances that I really enjoy with amber, vanilla, woods, and aldehydes listed. When I first smelled it though I was very disappointed. It smelled like Paco Rabanne or something. Just very generic and unoriginal. I've smelled a lot of men's colognes like this and wasn't impressed. Didn't like something in the initial spray. However after it dries down and settles it opens up and I get a nice sweetness from the vanilla. It could almost be a unisex fragrance except for the generic woody notes that are in a lot of men's colognes. The fragrance is also very strong. Every time I've worn it I keep questioning myself, "do I like this?" and I still don't know.When you first spray it on, it truly smells like men's cologne/deodorant. Not that it's a bad thing, but it makes me nervous every time like oh I don't know that I want to smell like that all day.It does develop into an amber scent, I know that it says there are hints of vanilla, but I haven't been able to pick up on them.The amber is slightly, very slightly, reminiscent of Baccarat Rouge 540, but I feel that in a comparison between the two, I would probably choose Baccarat.I'm not really sure of the sillage because any time I've worn it no one has commented on it.I do think that it has very long wear time though.
