The Sk8-Hi was originally introduced in 1978. This shoe provided new functions and style to skaters in the 80's. Vans has created the Skate Sk8-Hi Shoes to bring nostalgia with upgraded technology. The Vans Skate Sk8-Hi is apart of "Vans Skate Classics" line of footwear. These are the most iconic skate shoes created by Vans but revamped to fit the needs of modern day skateboarding. Generally a good shoe. Boardfeel is good. The hi-tops stabilize the ankle a bit more and if the board hits you don't get a cut straight away. As with all Vans skate shoes, the
laces are a little thicker + you get a pair to change. An insole optimized for skating is also included. The standard Vans insole is Popcush, but there are also others such as
Ultracush etc. The insole is ok, but can't be compared with Footprint, for example. Otherwise, I find the thickness of the fabric and the sole thinner than, for example, the
Blazers from Nike or a pair of Last Resort hi-tops, but thicker than a pair of Chuck Taylors from Converse. They don't last forever, but they don't get holes extrem... Show more

ASOS is trash, plain and simple. If you are looking for a simple, honest review of this dumpster fire of a company, here it is. First of all, no human contact if (rather, when) you

I skate flat/curbs/flatbars. My foot is size 9, I weigh 70 kg and I am 180 cm tall. I usually prefer cupsole skateshoes but I ended up with the Vans Sk8-Hi's because of the
protection over the ankle. This shoe is true to size, maybe a tad bigger than some of my 27 cm shoes. It is also not a narrow shoe like New Balances or Nikes. This shoe is
great for skating, but in my opinion not the best shoe to walk on as I found some marginal heel lift even with so many laces. However these break in fast, the shoe is light for
such a durable and even with a "fat" vulcanized outsole. I would prefer the pro version for skating every time. I think for my foot this shoe has not the optimal fee... Show more

The single most egregious thing ASOS does is sell things that don't exist. My very first time ordering, they messed it up. Two pairs, out of three, were wrong. And honestly, that's totally okay, if they would have fixed it. I know my size, in my brand, yet they still sent me shoes that were, read, THREE sizes too small. This was not an EU to US sizing problem, they straight up sent me a useless pair of really tiny shoes. They would have made excellent paperweights, to be fair. ASOS does not offer an exchange of any kind. You must rebuy. Okay, ASOS, that is fine by me. But, what if the item you want to rebuy isn't on sale anymore? Oh, dear shopper, that is what they want. My second time ordering, guess what they did to fix it? They (finally) gave me 25 percent off my next purchase, after fighting a robot for several minutes about the fact that the initial apology offer they proposed (15 percent) was less than the promo deal (20 percent) they had on the site for anyone to use at anytime, so I rebought the shoes they messed up. If you're still reading, you can guess what happened. They did it again! Three sizes too small. Guess how many emails I have received in reference to this? Zero. Now, you may be thinking, "okay, they messed up, twice, but it's okay! Chill, friend, there are bigger fires in the world." And, you are right. But, they refuse to speak with me. No other company I have interacted with on any level does that. It's slimy behaviour. Also, another pair of shoes I ordered, white trainers, which they DID get the size right, showed up dirty at my house in the box. Really dirty. Do you think I complained? Nope. Not after who they showed themselves to be. ASOS doesn't care. And neither should you. If you can find a cool pair of shoes on their site that fit you, go ahead, roll the dice and order them. But know this, they may not be the thing you ordered, and you may have to spend a half hour chatting with a bot, and then some more time packing it back up, printing your return label, and dropping it off. Ultimately, I am impressed with their selection, but completely grossed out by the complete lack of customer service, and more importantly, lack of actual product. Do not waste your time.... Even with the pop cush insole the feel is awesome. The Hi-top model needs some getting used to but is no dealbreaker for me as that was what I wanted. They have such a good view from above and over all. For this shoe I would have preferred it to have some topping in the heels to prevent heel lift, but that is all I can complain. It has some canvas for breathability in the middle which is nice for the summer. For me, this is a rather basic skate shoe with good durability on because of suede and a thick vulcanized outsole. I recommend these for you if you already like Vans skate shoes and want to go for something extra with the Hi's.... Show more

Former Skate Pro line?

It has a good combination of board feel, agility and cushioning support because the front half of the shoe sole is still thin and the heels recieve a very noticeable cushioning support from the very thick pop cush insole. It feels very unique when your toes and front feet can feel the ground surface while the back of your feet is well cushioned. The black /black colour way with black laces is very successful design, they look very cool and suits many occasions and clothing styles, making it an all round winner. Great pair of shoes
6 March 2024
Writing this review as I have received this pair an hour ago and the first impression out of the box is great! This pair feels great to touch and they look gorgeous.Comfort is also the best of all the vans I have ever had, they have an insole that makes these shoes extremely comfortable and snug around the heel, while also leaving a lot of room in the toe box so that my toes aren't squished.Really love them, hope they will last a long time as the previous pair didn't feel as great but still lasted a few years of daily walking and frequent abuse outdoors on a bike and skateboard.... Not true to size but always have been in the past
22 July 2024
I've worn Vans for my entire adult life (over 25 years) and have never had an issue with sizing. I've purchased Sk8-Hi multiple times in the past, including the current version with the PopCush sole. I recently bought the same size as I always have but for some reason this pair is too tight across the toe-box / instep. I was/am hoping they may stretch but I've never had this happen in the past so I wonder if something has changed in the manufacturing process since my last purchase or if there's a problem with this specific pair. I'd recommend sizing up by half a size to avoid this issue, or better yet buying in-store so you can get a feel for the fit.... Show more

SKATE SK8-Hi is now my absolute favorite!
7 November 2023
SKATE SK8-Hi is now my absolute favorite! I had purchased and returned another shoe that I thought was going to be perfect and it was not roomy enough in the toe area and I realized it was not the same style as the previous favorite, so now I know I need to make sure it is the "Skate Sk8". Here's what I love about it, it is roomy in the toe area, super cushy, it feels like a dream on my feet and offers more support. If you have to walk around all day, this is going to feel like you are walking on clouds. I can't find anything bad to say about it. I have 3 pairs now of this style and the first one was turned into roller skates.... Show more

Skate Wear Meets High Design
30 October 2023
I've been wearing Vans since I was little in the late 60's. I grew up in Orange County, CA and started with original Vans classic deck shoes and moved on to customs in grade school. I got my first pair of Old Skool high tops in 8th grade (blue and white) and was the only girl I knew, who wore "guys skate shoes". Many trips around the sun later and EVERY girl/woman from grade school to adult age, these days are sporting Old Skools. However, this pair kicks it up a notch. I love the one-tone light camel/tan leather body (even though this pic shows a white "jazz", which is the line on the side and mine are all one color). They are cool, modern, and very stylish - almost have a designer feel for the office or dressier options. Anyway . . . have had a ton of compliments ... MoreI've been wearing Vans since I was little in the late 60's. Sk*-Hi Shoes
21 April 2024
For as long as I can remember, I have always worn Vans sneakers. I started off with the low tops, however, over the past few years I have gotten into the Sk8-Hi products. I now own about 10 pairs. They are always so comfortable and are perfect for both winter and summer weather. I have never had an issue with rubbing on my ankles or even them not fitting. These are great shoes that I would recommend to anyone! So comfy too!... Show more
