This is an all around great shoe (so far, it has been worn just a month). Bought this as a fall/mild winter days shoe for a boy who is very active, and gets super hot with real winter boots. He cycles to school and is not cold/wet. So as far as I know, they live up to their description. Let's see how they take salt and colder days.

My expectations were very high for this sneaker/boot hybrid. They designed a shoe that was pleasing to the eye, different and unique. I fell in love with it! I searched for the color and type a lot online, but eventually found it the most reasonable on Evos website. Thanks Evo!While I was not terrible pleased with the lacing, I found the boot to be extremely comfortable. When I first set my foot in them, I found them to be a bit cumbersome. The lacing was a bit awkward at first, but I just accepted thats how they were designed. The first part of the lacing system seemed too tight, but when I loosened them a bit, they felt baggy and inconsistent. After a few wears, they felt immensely comfortable. You get a lot of ankle support, and they don't rise to the point where they feel like an actual boot, but more like their old school high tops. The design is classic and beautiful. They are lightweight and practical; it looks like a boot, but wears like a sneaker. I bought these in black, and visually they are probably the nicest shoes I have currently. I would not recommend these if you are looking for a hiking boot, as the use of these are mostly superficial. In a pinch they could work well, but they are just water-resistant. Overuse of these could result in damaging to their appearance. I live in Oregon where it rains a lot. I suppose I could spray these with waterproofing spray, but overall I see these boots as kickarounds in the city.

I love these shoes! They are my new favorite high tops. I was worried that they would be too hot because I live in an all year round warm weather state, but they are not. The toe box is a bit narrow so I went a size up. I like the texture of the bottom of the shoe. I just saw they come in orange too so I'm planning on getting those as well because I love this style so much!

I purchased a pair of these a while back and like them so much I got another. Well made shoe. Very comfortable. They keep your feet toasty on those chilly days/nights while camping. Great traction for the trails. I'd recommend these to anyone looking for a good cool weather all round shoe for an active lifestyle.
I've never owned a pair of Vans because they were always too narrow for my feet. The Ultrarange Exo Hi Mte have a bit of a wider fit up front that's necessary for all day comfort. They both keep your feet warm in the cold weather in morning but cooler as the days heats up this time if year. The quality is too notch, the style looks great and all around they're comfortable. Highly recommend then to anyone who likes a hi top boot feel with sneaker comfort.
I bought these two months ago and love how they wrap around my ankles and protect. I was a bit hesitant about the colour and style, but they seem to match almost every outfit I own - my mama jogging pants to walk around the neighbourhood and hiking pants on the trail. I can see myself wearing these all year round. I am really happy about this purchase and I am grateful to Carlington in the North York store who helped me with it. Thanks MEC North York! :)
Happy overall with these. Warm and quite comfy yet lacking the Vans UltraComfort removable insole. It's the lesser one than their Pro Skate shoes, it's glued in. They could use more arch support with a better insole. Also, there is no grey on the shoe as seen in the picture. Straight green which I was surprised by.
If you have wide or extra wide feet and the shoes feel uncomfortable that just means the shoes haven't shaped your foot yet. Takes about 1-3 days. The shoe is alot lighter than the my blue authentic vans custom. The Padding is squishy which make walking feel great. If your wondering about the Arch support its relatively small but the padding makes up for it. The Bottom of the shoe has some good grip perfect for snow, I haven't really tried running up muddy steap inclines yet. When it got down to 4°degrees my feet were still warm. Walked through puddles of water and not a drop went through the shoe. Bought these shoes since no one ever has the blue version. Don't buy a size above since it's true to fit, if you wear a certain size stick to that size. Even while ... Even while walking around 80°degree weather your feet won't overheat and it they do for some reason it just makes the padding of shoes feel alot better.
These are really good-looking shoes. I was looking for something that would look cute with jeans regardless of the style and that was also functional, and these fit the bill nicely. They are super comfortable and just clunky enough. They do run a tiny bit on the small side - I'm kind of a big 6.5 and I don't think I need to go up to a 7, but if you're in doubt, I'd go up half a size.
The Ultrarange EXO Hi is not the tyical skateboard Vans anymore. Worn them first time this morning for an hour walk. No problem on sidewalk, black top, gravel in 16 degree C ( RealFeel 22 degree under the sun). Feet didn't sweat. Concern a little due to the "heat retention sole" but no worse than a pair of all leather hiking boots except lighter, quite comfortable and well cushioned. Sure footed and stable as hikers. Although they are not gore-tex ( Vans does have the gore-tex version) and not water-proof, they seem quite weather and water-resistant. I am surprised that there was not much review on them. I just can't not getting a pair especially when they are on sales! I have hikers in Sympatex/skywalk sole and a pair of all leather Scarpa/Asolo. The Ultrarange ... Had to refund in store as I didn't want to do it via mail before ordering again. No hassle and the second order arrived in 3 days. For all thiose long term fans of MEC, If the Ultrarange EXO HI represents the new strategy of the company, MEC is back onto the right track!
