I have had a spot cleaner for around 10 years, but my previous green one had a number of issues that this Vax model totally smashes.1) The tank on my old model filled up with years of dirt and wasn't easy to clean, this Vax one you can completely remove the top of the tank to clean inside2) The nozzle has also become full of dirt, this Vax model you can remove the clear plastic cover to clean inside3) This also has a self clean where you use clean water to clean the inside of the hose.I cleaned several vomit stains (human and dog) and it handled them so easier, unfortunately it was so good at cleaning the rest of the carpet now looks dirty oops. I have used steam pro 2000 carpet extraction machines along with Van mounted 1200 psi machines which sucked through the carpet underlay even suck up the floorboards. Well I thought this little machine would leave lots of water with the carpet, but I have just done my living room, stairs and hallway in a few hours and they are spotless and blow dry within 40 minutes. The old part of the machine is that you have got to put a lot of pressure on the end nozzle when you are sucking the water out this is expected. I did a lot of research as the appliance had to fit in a tiny storage space. Tick. It is super easy to use and for an experienced user easy to assemble - just fit the hose holders front and rear not one each side as in the instructions. The water tanks are conveniently small and showing filling levels for water and water plus solution is genius. The usual efficient Vax cleaning. Only had it a day but really pleased so far. Oh and there is a spare cleaning head for 'messy stains' (I dread to think but nice to know the appliance is designed with 'pet stains' in mind) (could save your marriage when hubby walks straight in after treading in something on the pavement).

Very quick delivery, instructions are good and couldn't wait to use it. Did the sofa then carried on and did the stairs and a few mats. I would say I did spray, scub then go over using the suction quite a lot as it kept drawing more and more muck out. I will be doing the sofa again in the springtime so it's a lot cleaner, then I can keep on top of it now I have this machine. I cannot wait until the spring/summer to do my car seats (that have never been done in 8 years!) Bought the Vax Duo Spotwash to clean car seats and to help keep clean a new cream sofa (oh yes! I was that fool who bought a cream sofa). Used the Duo on my car seats and was amazed at the results. Car seats were extremely dirty and mouldy due to spillages but 10 years of filth came out in just 1 application. Cant add photos as having difficulty uploading but the extraction water was grimey and the car seat looks like new.Pros: fairly lightweight even when full, compact enough to put the whole unit in the car whilst you clean and later store in a cupboard, good suction, plenty of tools, long lead, self clean mode, good price. Really great for certain tricky areas- I recently got a free desk chair from work that had previously been used by a different company that had moved out of the space, it was perfect for my home office however it was rather dusty and generally needed a little tlc as the office space it came from was getting a full remodel. Enter the Vax.....cleaned out all the ceiling dust stains and I'm sure some other spills that the chair had gone through and it's good as new! Just had our carpets and sofas cleaned by professional cleaning company which cost a small fortune. We have 2 working cockers which over the years have left their mark but the professionals did a fantastic job.Looked at purchasing the vax just to keep on top of a job well done but didn’t expect any great results. Oh how wrong was I.We have a large fabric sofa in our sunroom which the dogs use a snooze area during the day. It took a couple of hours to clean including the cushions but the result was every bit as good as the professional job so well impressed. I’ve now cleaned the carpets in the bathrooms and bedrooms and everything looks like new.I’m so impressed with itand it’s more than worth the money paid.

Honestly works wonders, i use it regularly on heavily soiled carpets and it gets 99% of it out, really really recommend.I also love the design of the spot washer - the functionality of everything has been thought through; i especially love that there is a feature where you can flush through the hose tube to get rid of all of the dirt, all within the spot washer.I would recommend though that you have a small towel available to rest the nozzle on when cleaning the heads, as this can dribble a little.Also be careful not to exceed the maximum line in the dirty water compartment, as this begins to leak immediately after this is exceeded (i only experience this issue when cleaning the hose tube).
