A little research goes a long way regarding these drives. This one didn't list it's speed, but Verbatim is a very trustworthy brand which is why I chose it over the competition. To unlock the full capacity go to MyComputer>Right Click Flash Drive>Format>Select "File System" to NTSF and other options should be Default I believe. This will allow you go use about 60 gigs on it. Also to increase transfer speeds you can enable "Write Caching". My Computer>Right Click On Drive>Properties>Hardware>FlashDrive>Properties>Policies>Optimize For Performance. This should increase transfer speeds a bit(however I didn't test yet). This feature however in return forces you to "Safely Remove Drive" to prevent data loss. I personally pack it with Bluray Rips, and entire seasons of TV Shows, then plug it into my HDTV which accepts USB, and play them right off the drive. Works flawless. Just one of the many reason's I bought it. Although my PC is connected to my HDTV, it's nice to just transfer a weeks worth of watching or more onto the drive, and turn the pc off to save electric. Overall it's just an exceptional product and I highly recommend it. I will do an actual speed test later this week and post results for all as Verbatim hasn't actually stated the speeds of this drive.

I have to try inserting is multiple times into USB ports for it to be recognised.Copying video files to this drive is very slow.Whenever I try to eject it, it tells me it can't eject because another program is using it, even though nothing is.I will be returning it at the first opportunity.

Fast and Sturdy
7 December 2014

This flash drive is truly 3.0 fast. The hard shell makes it more durable than its counterparts. There is a major drawback in its design. The shell is bumpy & too rounded. Pushing the slide in and out is too difficult. This item has fallen out of my hands numerous times. A flatter design or a rubberized shell would have been better. For that reason I would recommend that you buy only 1 if you really need a reliable 3.0 flash drive.

Horrid

Slow read and write speeds, cheap build and poor reliability make this USB trash.Worth spending a little extra money and get a decent one.Tried using them for DJing and they perform worse than some of the USB 2.0 drives that I own.Not to mention even the vibration of the speakers was messing with the drives and corrupting them.0/10

Item rubbish or faulty
8 March 2020

Copying files to this item 46gb of files 83% complete after 1 hour and 45 minutes. Speeds upto about 60mb per secord for 2 seconds then falls too zero!!! for several seconds then repeats. Waiting for Scan to get back to me re this issue. I rang Verbatim in Germany tech support, they advised iit should NOT fall to zero !!Allan

Poor build. Known quality issue.

Poor construction.Casing came free of the internal parts of the device just from simple removing and putting on the plastic cap. See similar issue with the 32G version in reviews.

Poorly assembled
4 December 2020

The casing broke off from the USB exactly in the way described by a previous reviewer. Had to tape it together with sticky tape (despite this the USB is still loose in the USB Slot) . The Cap doesn't fit to the bottom of the unit when removed and the writing on the side scratches off very easily . Doesn't run much faster than a good USB 2.0 THUMB drive . Overall , a master class inpoor product with poor workmanship - WILL NEVER BY ANOTHER VERBATIM PRODUCT EVER AGAIN

USB broke free of casing on first use. Poor build.
27 February 2020

The first time the Drive was removed from computer, the aluminium casing pulled off the USB leaving internals still plugged. No danger, but poor quality control.
