Failed completely after a few days and a single use (copied large number of small files). Dreaded "No Media" error and stopped being recognized in Windows with no chance of recovery after having tried everything out there. Luckily I had backups. There is a reason some drives cost more than others. I will stay away from cheap ones and anything from Verbatim in the future. Please avoid this piece of junk.

Been using these for less than a month, and two of them have stopped functioning entirely. Can't even reformat them, it freezes up the whole system until we unplug it. When the first one went down I just assumed it was a dud, but tonight we've just lost another.Luckily they were being used for transferring rather than long-term storage, so nothing was lost, but it's greatly disturbed our workflow.

This pendrive is up to the quality standards you would expect from Verbatim. It is really, really fast when connected to a USB3 port and the connector can be hidden inside the unit protecting it (but not from dust since the connector pins are still exposed). I haven't had any problem with the pendrive myself but be aware that due to its large capacity and format, it may not be recognized by some old equipment. The USB2 connectors of my Windows PCs recognize it without any problem. My Samsung Galaxy Note 4 smartphone also recognizes it perfectly and my Galaxy Note Pro tablet too. I had a problem when I took it to a printing service. Their computer wouldn't recognize it but it was most probably due to their computer being too old. This is a review for the Verbatim PinStripe 32GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive.Feels fairly solid made of black plastic.It benchmarks fairly well for the price/size. Sequential Read 27.5 MB/s, Write 21.2 MB/s. Slow on small file writes, but decent reads. 4K Read 12.3 MB/s, Write 0.006 MB/s.There's a small hole at the end of the drive to attach a lanyard to it, not included. There's no activity light. Slider mechanism feels solid, and there's a satisfying click when you retract it fully back. Slider doesn't protect the stuff getting into the tip, though.Hopefully it'll be reliable. Decent speeds for the price if you get it on sale.
Bought 2 for mobile situations. One for bootable System Image and one for File System backup. 100 GB backups in about 47 minutes and the USB Sticks stay cool. Always liked Verbatim Memory Products and still do.
I bought the 256GB version at Staples.com, which was sold at a special low price – $27, even lower than much lower capacity drives. Great to be able to store so much on one drive. No problems so far. The body slides over the connector, so there is no cover to lose, but this leaves the end of the connector open to lint or dirt if I keep it in my pocket. (Such is the case with many other flash drives also.) It does have a small hole at the opposite end, though, so it can be attached to a string or lanyard.

I should have listened to the other reviews regarding the transfer speed. This is one of the slowest USB drives that I have ever used.I compared it to a Sandisk Cruzer 32 GB USB drive that I have used for years.Transferring files to this drive takes about twice the amount of time it takes to transfer to the old drive.I purchased this drive because I liked the connector access compared to methods used by other drive manufacturers.
Hi - just wanted to post an update to my previous posting regarding a similar product - the item I purchased and reviewed for Staples was the 128GB USB 3.0 Flash drive - pics attached - not the 128GB 3.2 Gen 1 Drive that Staples is treating as the same product/item. I have asked Staples a few times to remove my previous posting - it was supposed to be getting completed - however, it is over a week now and I still see my posting. I wanted to share this info. so people are aware of this before purchasing and reviewing items on Staples. While the items are similar in nature - they are different and I think this is totally wrong by Staples and very misleading to the consumers looking to purchase this product.
I use these to transfer CR3 RAW files as well as highres, processed jpegs to clients. They are reliable and fast enough for most shortterm data transport and storage applications. Using a USBC to USB 3.1 hub I can transfer 30 Canon CR3 RAW files 50 to 66 MB file size from a 1GBsec, 4 TB SSD to a 32 GB Verbatim Nano drive per minute. Realtime transfer rate is perfectly in line with BlackMagic Speed Test results of 31.23 MBsec Write and 36.73 MBsec Read test results 1GB stress test file size. Testing was done on a 2021 8core iMac Retina USB3.1 port. Speed test results were very consistent over the 8, 32GB drives in my last batch. Formatted capacity was 31.44 GB on each drive.
