I enjoy this Swiss Army Knife. It provides a larger version to the already great Victorinox line.

Like others have said it is a big knife, a Wenger model. The saw was my main draw as well as the safety on the main blade. Does not disappoint. It is hefty though to wear on a belt.

Very handy knife for camping. I like the aesthetic of the wood finish, and the size of the blade and saw is more practical than the standard size swiss knife. Will also use it when hiking and back-country adventures when I occasionally need a saw for trail maintenance.

Bought this for camping and any hiking where hanging around at camp was prioritized over making big miles. It's been used to whittle stakes and stands, to process firewood, and for general camp chores, and it has been great. The saw is the stand out feature: it is an aggressive pattern that just chews through wood better than it has any business doing on a pocket knife. The extra length compared to the 90mm Vic saws (and even the 111mm ones) makes a big difference in cutting power. If you are doing serious wood processing (i.e.: felling dead standing trees or cutting firewood thicker than two inches or so repeatedly and frequently) you will still want a dedicated saw. But for everything else, and the occasional big job, you will be surprised at how up to the task ... If you are doing serious wood processing (i.e.: felling dead standing trees or cutting firewood thicker than two inches or so repeatedly and frequently) you will still want a dedicated saw. But for everything else, and the occasional big job, you will be surprised at how up to the task this fella is.The blade is also nice and locks into place with an authoritative *snap* that is both reassuring and aesthetically pleasing. The liner lock works great and the button to release is the Victorinox logo, which is a clever and delightful touch. The lack of sharpening choil on the underside of the blade is annoying, though, and makes it tricky to put an edge back on for the full length of the blade without messing up the tang where it gradually narrows to an edge. The standard opening layer is also present, and is just as good as it is on every other Vic knife (which is to say, fantastic). The cap lifter is larger than typical and has an old, Wenger-style lock on it—when pressed hard it will bury itself in the knife body to lock out and prevent it from snapping shut on your fingers. Much appreciated, and it means it is up to serious screwing and prying tasks that the regular cap lifter wouldn't have been. The can opener tip also functions serviceably in small Phillips screws. The corkscrew is what it is—I don't usually carry wine into the backcountry, but this knife has actually made me consider it, just because! In a pinch it works well to work loosen jammed knots in paracord and tent guylines. The last tool is the awl/punch/reamer. It digs a hole swiftly in wood, which is handy for making a handle, running guylines through an improvised tent stake, building a bow drill set, etc. It also has a sewing eye to repair leather or other heavy materials if needed (it would be too thick, I think, to use on regular cloth without damaging it). Just be mindful that it doesn't close on your fingers when bearing down and twisting on it. Ouch. All in all this is a well built, sturdy, super-functional and attractive utility knife for camping, hiking, and messing about it in the woods. It quickly became my go to for those sorts of trips and I love it. Well recommended.
This is a great knife, previously Wenger Rangerwood (hence the Wenger logo) now Victorinox. The walnut wood used just looks and feels fantastic. Very good and relevant accessories too. Absolutely love this knife!!
It's a nice functional knife, I like it.The only problem was one of the scales was not glued down properly and came of the first time I placed it in my pocket. There was only one spot of glue one end of the scale. Fixed it myself as they wanted me to return it for warranty, I have had to wait several weeks to receive the knife in the first place and could not be bothered to wait longer for a replacement.
Awesome knife. Blade is 95mm and saw is 111mm long: it is a big pocket knife, check out some size comparisons online. In terms of spec., the Ranger Grip 78, with the red and black scales, is actually better spec'd for less money: it has the phillips screwdriver instead of the cork-screw, the blade is one-handed-opening, and it adds toothpick and tweezers. But for traditional aesthetics, with wooden scales and jimping on the blade, this is the one.
This knife is all you need in your backpack, whenever you go in the woods and setup a camp or having it in your bag in the city and use it for cutting apples or salads if u want healthy meal.Opening corks or cans? No problem.Even u got very nice saw which will make u forget your saw in the basement. Are u sick of knifes with thousand of functions you'll never need? This device has only 6 .But they are all full needful and top quality. Did I mention how it fits in the hand? It is like a balad. And remember this, watch the movie "127 hours "and note the knife scene. That means full movie If main character has one of these ,movie should be called "127 mins".
Perhaps I got a dud but on mine the corkscrew opener slightly bent after opening the first bottle of wine so now it kind of stands out of the wooden handles - no exaggerated force used and never happened with my other Victorinox knives. Apart from that a really nice, good looking knife that has a well working locking mechanism (pushing the flag) and an amazing saw that I used many times in the forest and at home.
This is larger than I expected, but it feels great in the hand.I ordered this for hiking, and it is a fantastic tool.I received it today, and I tested it out right away. The large blade locks in place, and doesn't move much, but it is easy to close by pressing the Victorinox symbol. It cuts extremely well. The Star of the knife is the saw-what a great tool! It is strong and very effective. Not sure what I'll use the awl for, but if I figure it out, I'll let you know.
