This is definitely the best xbox controller that I've ever held. I used to get blisters on my thumbs from using the dpad, but this controller has an extra 8-way dpad that resolves that long time issue. The adjustable triggers are very good in situations where I want to have extra short-travel buttons on my controller. The speed has been fantastic and it's really making me look forward to using it more in tournaments.

The recessed 2 button, 4 button paddle design is very comfortable though, and perfectly positioned, but the 4 button paddle layout needs individual slightly raised buttons for each paddle for a more tactical feel. Also, the membrane (garbage) used for the paddle button feature makes it feel too mushy, and slow responding. The paddle buttons should have mouse click buttons instead for all 4 paddle buttons.Overall, this controller is still stuck in concept mode, and not quite ready for prime time.Victrix is mostly known for their fighting arcade stick, and this is the first attempt at making a pro controller. They are not a bad company, and I give them credit for a good first attempt. I love all the accessories that's included, but that tall analog stick is way too tall, and I have big hands. Maybe include 3 different sizes next time like a small, medium, and large. Hopefully, some of my complaints will be addressed in a version 2. Good luck Victrix, but I have to return your controller now.

Best Xbox controller, some things to note however
19 February 2023

This controller is leaps and bounds better than any official Xbox controller I have used. Response times are as advertised. It's a subtle difference, but going back to a standard Xbox controller feels slightly less responsive than the Victrix Gambit controller. Some cons however. The back facing buttons are very close together so I can only use the 2 button paddles as opposed to the 4 button paddles that I was hoping to take advantage of. Using 4 makes it extremely hard to push the right buttons without putting pressure on the front facing buttons since these are a bit too easy to click. A potential fix for this could see the 4 back facing paddles be arranged a bit further away from each other, and a bit of extra resistance on the front facing buttons (a,y,x,b, ... MoreThis controller is leaps and bounds better than any official Xbox controller I have used. This would help in both increasing the longevity of the controller (to prevent stick drift) and would help justify the premium price tag on the controller as a whole.

Definitely the fastest and most responsive controller on the market. Yes, the controller does feel pretty plastic and could use extra weight. But maybe this is something that will be fixed in the next version. In terms of response / input delay on PC, there is not a controller that comes close to this. Best controller for fortnite competitive.

Good but could of be great!

First of let me say this is a very good controller, especially at $99, I prefer it over the Elite 2. The response feels great! Has all the bells and whistles one needs if you're looking for the extras that help significantly. This is literally the only controller (and i have them ALL) that you can set your in game dead zone to 0 without any drift (Apex Legends as a test). Every other controller brand new out of the box you need atleast a 5-10 dead zone. The controller has 2 faceplates, a plastic white plate (that has 2 interchangeable stop rings (circle\ hexi) that you can swap out. The 2nd is a really smooth purple rubber like material (feels great but has a downfall sadly). The 2nd is a really smooth purple rubber like material (feels great but has a downfall sadly). While the white plastic plate snaps perfectly in place, the purple faceplate tends to come undone in areas like the bottom points of the controller. Its not a huge deal, more just a picky annoyance. The controller has 2 swappable back options for the programable buttons, a 4 paddle or a 2 paddle option. Thats a pretty cool option to be honest. They feel pretty good but not as good as an elite. The paddles are in a great spot but a bit tougher to press compared to an elite. It almost hurts in a stretching way using them. That could just be me though.Where I take a star off is, something about the thumb sticks not always reaching full potential when you are pressing up/down/left or right. You can even test this and see it on their App. The test shows you filling up a circle and sometimes when you do it, the very outside layers dont fully fill up (without having to really jam hard), meaning you're not hitting the maximum level of the direction you push. So what does this mean or effect? When I'm pushing up to run in say Apex Legends, its not registering or it sputters. Once in awhile a recalibration in the app works to help fix the issue but it keeps coming back. I do notice it more with the purple face plate. Its possible the built in thumbstops are too small, not allowing you to reach full utilization without having to seriously crank hard on the up press. The other thing that is slightly annoying but you get used to it eventually is the short trigger stops are SUPER SENSITIVE. You will absolutely randomly fire your gun 100x before you learn to keep your finger away from it. Some could say its a positive also cause you fire that quick lol. Its 50/50 love hate for me.Overall I do love the controller! Id easily give it 5 stars if not for a few annoyances. I bought 2, hopefully the 2nd one doesnt have the thumbstick issue. If not, I'll change this to 5 stars/great.Id definitely give this controller a shot if you are looking for an elite 2 type controller but want to save $50-75 dollars.

Great response controller but horrible paddles
8 December 2021

This is a very responsive controller for the price. The build quality is solid but most of it feels like cheap plastic especially the face buttons. My main issue with the controller is the paddles, both the 2 and the 4 paddle plates are designed to sit more flush with the grip. To press the paddles you have to squeeze the middle of your fingers into the paddles which is extremely tiresome and inconsistent. This is very similar to the fusion pro and elite, where the paddles are extremely difficult to spam and press quickly because you have to squeeze your whole finger into them instead of clicking with your fingertips like on the razer wolverine ultimate. These paddles do not perform well in fast paced situations. Also the menu buttons are in the WORST possible place ... MoreThis is a very responsive controller for the price. These paddles do not perform well in fast paced situations. Also the menu buttons are in the WORST possible place at the top of the controller. To bring up the mini map in most games you have to move your thumb over the top of the thumbstick instead of to the side. This may seem like it's not a big deal but in game it is extremely frustrating because it actually takes twice as long to press the menu buttons compared to normal xbox controllers. They claim that this was designed by esports players but I highly doubt that because these design issues would never be approved by gamers that tested the controller. I think the razer wolverine ultimate is a much better choice especially now that it is the same price on sale. Paddles placed underneath the fingertips are simply superior. Hopefully they come out with a different backplate design which will significantly improve this controller

The Good; Sticks, out box stick tension, braided usb-c cord, trigger/button response, Dolby Atmos, low controller noise while playing, app, ease of use face plates and attachments, good for average and smaller hands. The Bad; Noticed no legit difference compared to other wired controllers in regards to latency, No Dolby Atmos without using Gambit controller, sound quality can be matched with quality headphones (with or some without amp ex: Beyerdynamic) trigger stop adjustments are questionable in quality and usage. The Ugly; Marketing is on top of their game with this controller. Unfortunately, I believe more money went into marketing and gimmicks, the box, and case than the controller itself. Which leaves me to question the quality and durability in long term use. But that part could be resolved with an added warranty from Geek Squad. The End; In conclusion, for price and whatever your own preferences are, the Victrix Gambit is not bad overall for people that don't already have a good controller you can wire up in addition to quality headsets.

NO...! The Worst!
21 November 2022

Controllers are one of my favorite things. I have about 12 different ones for use with Xbox Series X and PC. Most are good to great. This one is not. It's absolutely garbage. It's the only controller I ever returned. It's too lightweight, has hair trigger buttons and overall, poorly constructed.Do NOT waste your time or money on this! Nearly anything else is better. Look at options from PowerA. Much better quality.

Pretty Good pro controller for the price point
24 June 2023

The trigger stops and back buttons feel really great and responsive. Overall the feel of the face buttons, thumb sticks feel crispy and accurate. Remapping buttons on the fly is really easy. I knocked off the star because the software isnt really user friendly. And this is more of a personal thing but the 4 back button configuration is not big hand friendly. To cramped.
