Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb - 100ml Eau De Parfum Spray

I just bought the Sephora Luxe Collection (which is amazing!!) and I was so excited to get a small bottle of Viktor Rolf Flowerbomb. It's described as being "an explosive bouquet of fresh and sweet notes", which describes this perfume pretty perfectly. The first thing I smelled with this perfume was the patchouli and the musk. I'm a sucker for perfumes with patchouli in them. I also smelled the freesia which gives it a light, floral scent. This perfume smells absolutely beautiful! A little also goes a very long way, lending to a bottle lasting much longer than with other perfumes. This is absolutely not the case when it comes to my beloved Chanel. I have to basically soak myself in it to get it to last as long as I prefer. I used to think it was decently concentrated, until I tried Flowerbomb. What a difference. I will say, while I firmly believe you can wear any perfume you want at any age, I’ve noticed VR Flowerbomb is loved most by the 20-35 crowd. One of my friends, who is head over heels obsessed with fragrance, does not like Flowerbomb on her one single bit. It does not combine well with her body chemistry. I have noticed this is a running theme with women who are 40+. Honestly though, I believe this spectacular scent is 100% worth a try for everyone, regardless of your age. It truly is a beautiful, addicting fragrance.

It almost smells like a rosy, fresh, powdery envelopment of feminine love that is both calmly familiar and vividly effervescent. This is definitely an addictive fragrance. The best part is that the smell dissipates into the softest essence. I would feel comfortable wearing this in close quarters, as the scent is soft enough not to agitate other people in the vicinity. Some people dock points for this, but I love wearing a scent that comes off more as a soft trail, instead of occupying the entire room. They use the olfactory notes of Centifolia rose, jasmine, orchid, and osmanthus. There is nothing obnoxious or intrusive about the way this smells, and though titled “Flowerbomb,” this is not an overpowering or explosively strong fragrance. It is, however, filled with the intense aroma of a freshly cut and misted floral rose bouquet that is sensually addictive at the very least. A must-have!

I always thought this perfume would smell overly flowery because of it's name so I never tried it before but it smells more like vanilla to me: super sweet, warm and ultra feminine. The perfumed one smells more intense. I used the perfumed lotion on my chest when I wanted to still smell like flowerbomb but not too much on days I didn't want to use the actual perfume because this lotion still gives you the fragrance but it sits closer to the skin. I used the scented lotion on its own for a very subtle scent, but it does wear off faster. I also paired it with the perfume and it helped the perfume last longer and more strongly which is a bonus.This gift set is a great value for the price and I would definitely buy this as a gift, even if the gift is just for me lol

I've tested Sensual Amber on one wrist and Flowerbomb on the other, side by side, and there is basically no discernible differences. I don't mind paying more for perfume (Mugler's Alien is my all-time favorite and signature, for reference), but I don't see the point when there is an almost exact dupe for a mere fraction of the price. If you can afford it and the superior packaging is worth it to you, then I say go ahead. It smells nice, and is generally a crowd-pleaser.

The patchouli ruins any chance this had of being tolerable but beyond that, it's just a stinky, syrupy, powdery, overpowering mess. I've smelled it a million times on a million different people and I've never once thought, "wow, that smells really good on her." Ever. It's like if you walked into a department store fragrance counter in the early 1990's and sprayed every single perfume on yourself that you could find, Flowerbomb would be the end result. Having said all that, I would like to try the various flankers at some point to see if they're any more tolerable. But as far as the OG FB, it's an absolute NOPE.

It's a very pleasant scent and not one that you can smell from across the room but which does last all day. I do get many compliments on it and will wear it forever. I would have given this 5 stars (stars are fickle thing, arent they?) but as you can see the offer includes "free sampleS". I ordered mine and was excited to have a small sample of FlowerBomb as I would be travelling and didn't want to bring the entire bottle due to US carry on liquid restrictions (I purchase the large bottle) . For some reason they crossed the requested sample off and didn't ship it. When I reached out to customer servcie they said that they would not send the sample separately.
