EF lens had trouble focusing. Focusing could take up t0 10 sec if it could focus at all! I am a bird photographer so product was completely useless!!! If it did focus or if I used manual focus the photo looked soft and NOT sharp at all. Again, avoid purchasing this product, completely useless!!!

I'm not up to snuff with all the terminology, this converter works only with red-dotted lens, not the white-dotted lenses. It worked well with the lens that fit.

When I connected the lens, the camera gave Err 01 - Communications between the camera the lens is faulty. I covered the contacts with duct tape to get it to work.

I haven't used this product very much yet but I mainly bought it to try and get more close up shots of the moon but even with this, it really doesn't quite get close enough with either my 75-300mm 1:4-5.6 II or my 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 IS II USM lenses but, that really isn't the fault of the product, I probably just need more powerful lenses. As other reviews have noted, it is difficult to get auto focus although it can be done if one tries long enough. When I use it with the 75-300mm 1:4-5.6 II lens, it does occasionally throw error codes. And, in manual focus, it takes a lot of patience playing around with the focus to get a clear enough shot. But, it does get up pretty close on the mountains of which are nearby in my area. The pictures are with the 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 IS ... MoreI haven't used this product very much yet but I mainly bought it to try and get more close up shots of the moon but even with this, it really doesn't quite get close enough with either my 75-300mm 1:4-5.6 II or my 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 IS II USM lenses but, that really isn't the fault of the product, I probably just need more powerful lenses. It doubles my Tamron G2 150-600mm lens to 300-1200mm.Its a good teleconverter for the price.Tripod required.I use mine for astrophotography and use an external focuser so i cannot tell you how the auto focuser works but i love it. I have one lens with an incredible range now. 150-1200mm. Yeah, Im happy!
This 2x converter does exactly what I wanted it to: it gives me a way to double the focal length of my zoom lens (it's even noted as such in the EXIF data) at a very affordable price. It's lightweight, so it's easy to carry around as an accessory ready to use when needed. The image quality is good in my first couple of batches -- I notice no significant degradation for casual use. As noted in some other reviews, it won't autofocus, but that's a minor inconvenience.
It impacted the focus on the camera. Had issues getting it to attached properly - it would not click into place most of the time which contributed to the focus issues. I missed some good shots because the lens was not clicked into place. When it worked, it worked well, the problem was I had trouble getting it to work
This was a great buy for the price. I purchased it replace another Teleconverter from another company that was about 30+ years old that finally wore out. This new one is just as good and maybe even better. I would certainly recommend it to anyone.
Photos not as sharp as I would like them using converter, bit soft. Other than that it's good. First photo with converter. second with out converter. Taken on Canon 1Dxmarkii with 70-200mm canon lens
i purchased with no intention of using the auto focus. it still throws camera communication error codes locking up my 5D Mark 4 and T5i and rendering them useless until I remove the battery. I will be returning this. save your money and time.
