Placed between the camera body and lens, a teleconverter contains a set of optics that will effectively increase the focal length of any lens with which it is used. The Kenko Teleplus HD DGX 2.0x converter has the effect of multiplying the focal length of your lens by 2.0x, turning a 300mm lens into an equivalent 600mm. The HD DGX 2.0x converters have genuine Gate Array IC (Integrated Circuitry). This means the converter's unique circuitry maintains signal integrity between the camera body and lens. The 3~5-element design made with high quality multi-coated optical glass supplied by Hoya Corporation, the world's largest manufacturer of optical glass. Full AF operation with the Teleplus HD DGX 2.0x is possible using a camera lens with an open aperture of F2.8 or brighter. Please be aware that AF will work properly only if there is enough light and contrast on the subject to activate the camera's AF sensors properly. (Manual focusing may be necessary when using lenses with smaller open f-stop values than that given above.) The Teleplus HD DGX converters have updated circuitry to record exif data more accurately. In the exif exposure data (meta-data recorded with a digital picture) Teleplus HD DGX converters record the equivalent aperture and focal length of the lens setting plus teleconverter. Optically and mechanically they are identical to the prior high-quality Teleplus HD DGX converters. Lens performance has been improved dramatically as compared to the MC4 and MC7 models. The improvement in resolution is especially marked, 180% respectively in comparison to the current MC4 model.

2 x converter

Works well on my 70 - 300 lens until I zoom up to about 170. After that it's not to clever, seeming to confuse the lenses af system! On manual, cant fault it at all. Lightweight, not too deep adding pressure to the cameras mount and fits well both to camera and lens fits to converter well. I mainly use manual settings and lens so am happy with it, but if you tend to use Auto Focus, maybe not a good choice. Have tried on other similar zoom lenses and had same issue!

Amazing x2 TC and works with old AF lenses

Coupled this x2 TC with my nikkor 80-200 f2.8 ED on my D7100, D300 and D3. Works perfectly! Super sharp and stops down the f2.8 to f5.3 so still perfectly usable in average to good light. I've only noticed a very slight drop in resolution on the D7100 not enough to even worry about and true perfect images on my D300 and D3. Couple this up to good fast glass and you get a cheep pro super zoom!

Does Not Communicate With All Lenses

The B&H website description says full communication is supported between lens and camera... When I got a no communication message and called B&H the tech support agent said communication is not supported for that Nikon lens, only these Nikon lenses. B&H, you should make that clear in the product description.

Great Teleconverter
31 March 2020

I am very pleased with my new Kenko 2x converter. I wasn't sure this would work, but I attached the Nikon FTZ converter to my Z50 camera first. I then attached the Kenko converter to the FTZ converter and then attached an older Nikkor AF-S 55-300mm zoom to the Kenko. Worked like a charm!

B&H was great but the product isn't. With the converter attached autofocus didn't work an any of my lens.

I would not recommend this product. It does not wirk on autofocus when my zoom lens is at 300. It works up to about 180 but even then I find the photos rather overexposed.

Using With Nikon Z6 and FTZ Adapter
11 August 2020

I attached the Kenko Teleplus to the FTZ adapter and took it to my back field to try it out. Its not good. Oh, it zooms OK, but no matter if I use the eye cup or the monitor on the camera, there is a lot of jiggling and takes a lot of effort to get my camera to be satisfied enough to take the photo. I did try it on auto only at first. I was told that it would work with the FTZ adapter, but it doesnt really. No action shots for sure. Ill try on my D7200 and see if that works better.
