Vittoria Barzo Rigid 2019 Black 27.5x2.1
The Vittoria Barzo is a classic hardpack race tire. Small, low-profile lugs grip firm, dry trails well and the continuous contact center lug pattern make this one of the fastest true mountain tires out there. Lean-dependent sipe angles mean the hard cornering grip doesn't kick in until the tire is leaned over. This keeps rolling resistance to a minimum. Counter V-formation channels ease the cleaning of mud, dirt, and debris, so the tire sheds quickly if you find yourself in the sticky stuff. Almost as important is the casing underneath. Vittoria TNT casing is made from a cloth that has 120 threads per inch -- quite supple by mountain bike standards. The sidewalls are also reinforced with nylon in order to minimize both cuts and folding when riding at low-pressure. Holding the tire onto the rim is a traditional folding Aramid bead. The tires can be run front or rear, and if you need a little more dig in the rear, reverse the tread direction for more of a "scoop" effect.

Perform brilliant all year round in the UK mud, these are my 3rd set now and wouldn't use any other tyre on my xc bike. Never had a puncture or slashed a sidewall. A bit sketchy on wet cobbles but aren't all tyres? Great prices from bikeinn and rapid delivery

Installed tubeless easy enough and sidewalls noticeably added strength to tyre feel. I normally run my tyres c20psi (trail riding c80kg rider) and when inflated to that level the tyres felt too firm so dropped them down a few more psi’s. I was replacing a specialised ground control that had ripped in a rocky section the week before and have to say the bike did feel marginally heavier as a result of installing the barzos. First ride out was a mixture of road, off road and some steep singletrack up and down. Immediate impression was that I had more grip but at expense of initial acceleration. On road it was fine but felt like I was 5% slower. Off road the extra grip (was wet and slippery autumnal day) offset the top end speed and harder to notice any difference. And have to say the extra grip was great and obvious. On the steep incline again the extra weight was a factor but perhaps more in my head than actual time - and then on the downhills it more than made up time. I hit near PBs in dodgy, muddy conditions and certainly felt I could push harder next time. If you are looking for a pair of winter light trail tyres like I was then defo worth considering. I’m very happy so far with them!

The tires are easy to mount and seal up well when tubeless. The gray sidewalls give a whole new look that is very appealing. The tires seem to work well in just about all conditions. As for working with Bike inn....their communication and tracking is awesome. The only drawback is that shipment to the US takes nearly 4 weeks because of customs holds. Be prepared to wait a while for any order. Prices are fantastic though. I will certainly use Bike inn again.

Looks pretty good on new carbon 27mm rims. Set up on the first trial, still keeps tight even without the milk :-). Recommended!
Bought the Barzo rigid to replace a worn WTB Trail boss.In comparison the Barzo is lighter, rolls faster and is excellent in the dry.Can loose a bit of traction in the wet (especially on concrete)The 2.25 width measurement Vittoria use is ever so slightly on the thin side (The 2.25 Trailboss is somehow wider than Vittoria at the same specified width)
A great fast rolling tire I use in the front with lots of traction. I've used Vittoria tires for a couple of seasons now tubeless with no failures or issues. Plus, easy to mount.
Very good tire, fast at hardpack, good grip in dry conditions. Not ideal for wet conditions. Overall i am happy with this tire. Highly recommend
