The Voigtländer 50mm F1.0 Nokton aspherical Z-Mount is a high-performance standard lens with manual focus, optimized for full-frame image sensors of mirrorless Nikon Z-Mount cameras (Nikon FX format). The lens is based on the already known 50mm F1.0 lens with a VM mount but features electronic contacts for communication with the camera body. One of the development goals was to achieve a compact design in addition to the very wide aperture and excellent imaging performance. This was achieved by using a specially ground front lens made of a glass material with a high refractive index (Grinding Aspherical Lens). As a result, the lens configuration could be simplified without compromising image quality, and the length of the lens was limited to 66.6 mm. Furthermore, floating elements are employed, which means that a specific group of lenses is moved to the optimal position depending on the shooting distance to ensure consistent clarity and uncompromising image sharpness at all times. This high level of technical effort is reflected in the top image quality and provides the user with versatile options for image composition.
