Vornado has been my go to fan for many years. This dc motor fan is quieter yet just as powerful as the regular versions. I am hoping to see some positive results on the electric bill in the upcoming months. Only complaint is I wish it had a remote.

The power pack has a long chord to place this anywhere.Well made, solid unit. The best fan we have had.

This fan is wonderful. I was taken aback by the number of pieces at first because I am just terrible at constructing things. This was extremely simple, not requiring any tools, or odds and ends. I put it together without reading the directions and that speaks volumes about the simplicity of that task. This fan is so lightweight. It is adjustable to 38 inches if I remember correctly, and packs a punch. There are 3 settings too choose from which although simplifies, does leave some room to be desired. Personally, a 2 1/2 would have been my personal go to. When this is cranked up to 3 it is LOUD. Not train loud but loud like a fan that is meant to dry paint. It produces so much air for such a midsize model. I was completely surprised. I understand these fans are meant ... MoreThis fan is wonderful. I did feel the vent blowing slightly more but it didn't make any major improvements. I decided to try and just blast the fan at myself instead and that worked quite well. The only downside is the fan while relatively small has a wide petal base and it made my already cramped room feel more cramped. I ultimately decided to use it in the spare bedroom to hopefully create an overall airflow effect that will gradually make its way into my room. Overall, this fan is powerful and Vornado products have wonderful ratings so I imagine it will last quite awhile. This is a fan designed to help reduce your electric bill in the costly hot months, and to a Southerner such as myself, I could not be happier with that thought.

I like the fact that it is compact (especially at the base). We have had other, larger fans that used up a lot of floor space.We picked this fan for two main reasons.1. It is "Energy Smart." We run the fan every night - regardless of the season.2. It's a Vornado. We have Vornado fans that have lasted us for years. A couple of years ago, we bought fans made by a different manufacturer (from a different retailer). They were sleek and pretty, but they quit working and made the most horrific noise we couldn't use them. They were a waste of money.This fan doesn't have some of the "bells and whistles" that other do, but is functional and hopefully will last more that 18 months.The one drawback, is that I wish we could raise it another few inches.
I purchase this for my mom because she mentioned about this summer’s hot weather. So I chose this air circulator because of its price and value. It spins at 1800 rpm which is very fast. My previous Vornado fan air circulator spun at 1500 rpm which is a high end model at the time. I bought that air circulator in the early 2000s but it can hardly spin now because i lubricated the fan. NEVER lubricate a Vornado air circulator even with a standard fan motor oil.Back to the story, this fan is powerful but can produce a bit noisy sound at its highest speed. One feature my mom wished on this air circulator is that it would oscillate to produce and even wider angle of breeze as it doesn’t. Otherwise it would be a perfect air circulator for its value.
This is what I would consider a Dwarf Pedestal Fan. TBH Ive never seen anything like it. It looks odd being its a pedestal fan with such a small Diameter.Still, Based on the Reviews, I thought this Vornado fan would work out in my garage. Whereas it does push air, its still a very small diameter fan and its quite cheap with materials. It probably pushes a tad more air than the smaller desk Vornados which may speak high regard for the smaller Vornado fans.The variable speed that others mention has benefits, but not for garages. I wish i can find a use for this one but there just isnt any middle ground for a fan like this that doesnt even oscillate and takes up some room. The only downside to this fan is that we like to have it running at full blast to really move the heat out, but at the highest setting it can be rather loud. It's not like having a jet engine or anything, but there's definitely no ignoring it. We usually just drop it down to about half way and that seems to be a fair balance between air circulation and fan volume. Overall, this fan has been a welcome and massive improvement to the air circulation of our home. Before being able to test this fan, I had no idea Vornado made full sized fans. A few coworkers have minis on their desks that I always thought were cool, but this is a few steps beyond those. Even if I hadn't received this to test, knowing what I know now I would certainly buy one for my home and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to others who need to move some air.
A super cool way of keeping cool, while also saving energy. The unit is energy efficient model (designation DC at the end), and costs a little more -- pays off because it will save on energy bills. Nevertheless, the motor is designed to be more efficient, and does not generate heat like the non DC models-- so the fan also stays super cool!!!

They just didn't have any power supplied to them now. I did notice that the new fans had a different color logo in the middle. That made me wonder if the Company had changed hands or if I was getting black market copies of the original Vornado. I clipped the cords and sent them back, getting a full refund for those two fans. I had given the other one away as a gift also, but never heard back that there had been anything wrong or not working on it. Something is just not the same with these fans anymore.
