These things are amazing the UHD is much brighter and crisper than the original Razor. I love how they feel in the hand and the 18 power is more than enough for most my hunting needs. Early morning and Late evening glassing is so much easier now in cases where it would take 15-30 seconds to determine an object is now done almost instantly. The adjustments are smooth. If i had to knock it the only thing I would like to see is an added tripod adaptor included as 18's are difficult to hand hold. The accessories it comes with are amazing and if they would add the Tripod adaptor it would be by fare the best kit on the market.I cant stress to you all how much more clear and crisp the UHD glass is give it a try you wont be disappointed.

Used mine hunting first time and they were excellent. Performed amazing in low light conditions in the morning and evening. I even compared to Swaro SLC's and truly could not tell a difference. Combine that with the slightly cheaper cost and the unconditional warranty and these are the perfect choice. If I was including the bino harness that comes with these in my review I would give them 1 Star. The case is a piece of junk. Do yourself a favor and buy the binocs and when you get home, throw the case in the trash. Excellent optics, Terrible case!

Purchased these for wildlife viewing and have had a chance to use them for awhile now. Love, love, love them. This is about as large as you can get without requiring a tripod due to vibration while using high magnification. With that noted I highly recommend these to anyone looking for a well designed, built, rugged optics package for viewing, hunting, etc....A couple things to add1. Would like to see this product with a bit larger ends to let in more light but still, the 18X really brings in a high level of detail.2. Price is pretty high for the average person. At about $1600 it isnt for everyones budget but if you can afford it, this is a great optics package.3. Still not getting the rigid case provided with the top not hinged but tethered with stretch ... MorePurchased these for wildlife viewing and have had a chance to use them for awhile now. Could be I am missing something but its pretty straight forward.

Overall, the Razor UHD 18x binoculars are pretty incredible. I am writing this review as an Arizona hunter and have been really impressed with the applicability for my style of hunting all big game species. As a disclaimer I have not done a side-by-side comparison with other comparable binos from other brands and have tended to be loyal to the Vortex brand due to the solid price to performance and warranty they offer.Pros:The binoculars are incredibly clear and detailed and the 18x is so nice when looking for distant animals or inspecting an animal in detail. Within 15 seconds of my first time testing them I easily spotted people on a ridge 4.75 miles away. When hunting side by side with someone running 12x vortex I was clearly picking out the smaller bucks of the ... MoreOverall, the Razor UHD 18x binoculars are pretty incredible. Within 15 seconds of my first time testing them I easily spotted people on a ridge 4.75 miles away. When hunting side by side with someone running 12x vortex I was clearly picking out the smaller bucks of the group when he was convinced they were all does. For being 18x, these binos seemed very easy to focus at near or far distances and they held the setting throughout a long glassing session. They perform decent in dusk/dawn scenarios.Cons:The included case is terrible and needs to be re-worked completely. They come with a generic vortex chest harness which doesn't even fully cover the binoculars due to the size, allowing dirt and debris to get in. These binoculars are so big it makes no sense to wear them on your chest in the first place as the 18x mag and weight means you have to put these on a tripod to get any use of them anyway. When you attach the Vortex Pro adaptor to them, they are too big to fit in the case at all. Since these are typically going to be tucked in your pack, they should come with a more hard-shell case that actually fits them and can accommodate a tripod attachment.
I've owned many vortex products but theses by far are the best pair of binoculars I've glassed through. The best thing about B&H is that I searched many other sites and no one would offer me next day air. These guys did for $20. Amazing will definitely come back to this company for future purchases. Thanks B&H
I bought these UHDs as a substitute for some Swaro 15x56's. They are cheaper and when I compare them to my Swaro 10x42 SLCs I can not see the difference. A pro might see a difference but I do not.I wish I could have had access to some Kaibabs to see if there is a difference in the HD vs UHD glass. I decided not to wait for a comparison and just bought these. Read all great reviews. I have used these over water during my initial uses, getting a feel for them and the new tripod I bought. I will have long days looking through these during my upcoming hunts.
I have been into bird watching for several years now. I started with the Vortex Viper 8x32 binocular which suited me fine in the beginning. I then got a pair of Zeiss Conquest HD 10x42’s and was very pleased with them. But as I read more & more great reviews on the Vortex Razor 8x42 UHD specifically for birding, I recently treated myself to a pair and I absolutely love them. The color & detail are amazing and although a bit longer then my Zeiss, they are weighted in a way that are very comfortable and easy to use. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase!
I have several sets of binoculars and enjoy these very much. They are large compared to smaller binoculars yet that is what you expect just like a large scope. Bigger is always better yet, if you must carry it up hills, it will be heavier. That said if you want to see better you have no choice. I can look into the trees and see animals earlier and later with these 12x50 UHD's. I also have a set of 18X Canons which are stabilized and have good glass and fairly sharp but are too heavy to carry while hunting unless you are setting and glassing. These at 12 power are almost as good because they are so clear I don't want to carry a tripod and without stabilization you just can't scan with anything over 12x all day. I can use these all day out to 300+ yards and see crisp ... MoreI have several sets of binoculars and enjoy these very much. Purchased the 18x UHD and couldn't be more pleased. The eye relief and eyecup design allow me a full view with eyeglasses, and the definition is up there with high-end rifle optics. Mounted them on a tripod and I'm amazed at what I can see. Zero regrets overall, but now I want a set of 10 x 50s because it's difficult to go back to merely above average binos.
Never thought I would ever buy Vortex binoculars but after trying these I was sold. I had a pair of Cabelas Euro's10x42 which were pretty decent but the clarity is definitely several steps above those. These are longer and thinner compared to most 10x42's so they don't feel as beefy as most. They have a real good wide view, excellent clarity in the early morning and evenings. Well worth the price but still a step below the Swarovski but price difference for thos in my mind is not worth it.
