This little amp was purchased to get the legendary VOX sound into my DAW. It does not disappoint. The sounds that this little monster produces are as vintage as it looks. When using a mic and the amp at med volume level it records amazingly well. With a direct line into an audio interface the sound is next level.Great amp for practice however this really shines well when recording. (A additional note) when using headphones be prepared for sonic bliss. Truly 100% happy with this purchase.

The solid-state analog circuitry provides a very pleasing sound when using clean channel. The stock speaker is fine and does not need to be replaced per various YouTube videos. The sound is warm and almost like a tube amp as notes and chords trail off gently in waves. This amp is perfectly suited for me as an older guitar player who plays blues, rock and jazz at relatively low volume levels. I always look forward to playing guitar and hearing this amp and will continue to use and enjoy its clean channel with a $25 Azor analog reverb pedal. I strongly recommend this amp to anyone who wants that British tube like amp sound without spending a ton of money.

To preface my review I learned something about Solid State amps when trading for this, there are three types of Solid State amps; analog, digital and modeling. I had a Marshall MG30CFX that fell into the digital category and sounded much better than a Blackstar modeling amp I had owned for all of one day. I kept the Marshall for about 8 months since it was not my primary amp but was always troubled I could not get a good high gain tone out of it; the other three channels sounded great but the limitations of a digital Solid State amp showed thru in OD2. I think it would do great for recording and home practice; but if you want to play out you will need something bigger or mic it. Lastly, all of my results are just my guitar (2 Deans with custom pickups) plugged directly into the amp sans any pedals.

It takes pedals very well, unlike a lot of solid-state amps, so if you find the onboard overdrive disagreeable you can pair it with your favorite overdrive pedal with no problems.There are certainly some critiques to be made: It doesn't have an onboard tuner or reverb tank, no aux input for jamming with your favorite MP3s, EQ is only treble and bass, and the only output to be had without modding the amp is a filtered line out for recording. The controls are as basic as basic gets. But pretty much every criticism I can think of gets quashed by the fact that it's dirt-cheap and sounds absolutely brilliant.For less than a Benjamin, you get great Vox tone and a lot of volume for practicing. It's well worth the price.
Ordered this Amp less than a week ago and picked it up today ( 4 days later ). Arrived in perfect condition in a well packed shipping box. Un boxed it and plugged my Squier Strat into it with gain, treble, bass, and volume on Amp at 12:00 position. Guitar at 0's for tone and full volume. Struck an E-cord and WOAH!!!! clean clear CRISP sound straight away. Played around with GAIN and found that this little Amp packs some serious punch on Overdrive! The more I use it and play with the settings the happier I am. This little 10W Amp can get PLENTY loud, especially on the OD channel. This is my first ever electric guitar set up and I couldn't be happier with how this Amp sounds with my Strat. It's ready to go right out of the box and sounds amazing. This reproduces sound well, crisp and warm and faithful to the tone you're sending into it. It really sounds great for electric guitar and can handle a pedal chain as well. I've had a few small amps that sound thin and cheap, but this one actually sounds really good. You could mic it and record with it as it has a lovely tone. I tried it out with a Korg Microsynth as well, not so good there, the bass is lost as you might expect. Also, with just the Volume knob it doesn't get very loud at all, you have to put at least a quarter turn of gain on it to get somewhere, which doesn't really effect the signal that much but I would say it's ... MorePerfect for it's intended purpose. Beautiful little amp. Doesn't seem to be to everyone's taste, but it does what I expect of it. It's fine if you just want a nice clean tone which you can tweak through an effects pedal, and a bit of crunch. The volume goes up considerably when you switch from clean to crunch, so it's a bit fiddly having to remember this when switching. Otherwise, AOK.
Brilliant wee amp at a great price. Bought this for my son to practice at home. Sounds great, just trying to get used to the different settings on it but my son is a beginner to all this…as am I, but with some experimentation (and probably should read the manual too) I think it will be a great asset that will last him for years to come!
Really pleased with this purchase as a first amp having started playing bass 3 months ago. I'd been making do with an Vox Amplug, Garageband and Headphones, but this has added a whole new dimension to my playing and my connection with what i'm playing - it's definitely shown up some areas of improvement!Sound quality is great at the levels i've been playing - not had the opportunity to turn it up all the way, but equally I haven't felt the need to. It really packs a punch and therefore is a great training amp for home playing.One of the other major benefits for me is that it's so compact I can easily store it when not playing, and you don't even notice it. Definitely a plus if you're somewhat cramped.
