My new dentist informed me of his recommended way to keep debris out of receding gums and keep teeth cleaner using a water flosser/irrigator. When his assistant came to speak with me she suggested a cordless model to use on vacation and in the shower. I didnt know of any aside from the original, WaterPik. When I researched online I saw the AquaSonic. The AquaSonic price is about half the cost of the original. So far, its amazing. Yes, it has to be refilled more frequently than a corded model but, for me, I believe its well-worth this slight inconvenience. I use it daily and have it next to my electric toothbrush. Ive only had it about a week but it kept running for almost a week without a recharge. Everything you need is included. I cannot determine how long it will ... MoreMy new dentist informed me of his recommended way to keep debris out of receding gums and keep teeth cleaner using a water flosser/irrigator. I would recommend this model to anyone looking for a portable/cordless water flosser.

I used to hate flossing my teeth and it felt like a real chore but I can’t believe how many times I now water floss my teeth every day since purchasing this product. I absolutely love it. If I had to make a decision whether to take the water flosser or my electric toothbrush on holidays with me I would pick the water flosser handsdown over the electric toothbrush. My teeth have only felt this clean after leaving the dentist. I haven’t found it messy to use as stated in other reviewsi. It took me probably two goes to get it down pat. The trick is you have to firstly use warm water, secondly, keep your mouth just slightly open and your eyes facing the basin when you use it. You will see the water running from your mouth followed by food particles. Just run the nossal ... MoreI used to hate flossing my teeth and it felt like a real chore but I can’t believe how many times I now water floss my teeth every day since purchasing this product. Just run the nossal along your teeth the first time to get the hang of it, then when you get the hang of it you will instinctively aim between your teeth. The first time I used it I had to refill it about four times (which takes about 5 seconds) but as I kept using it with practice it became easier and faster to use. My only regret is that I didn’t purchase this years ago. Love it!

My dentist suggested I get a waterpik to clean around some older crowns. I selected this cordless one because I thought it would be easier to not have the water tube between the appliance and the mouthpiece. What I failed to consider was that I'd be maneuvering the entire appliance around my mouth! I'm sure I'll get the hang of it eventually. Currently I have problems shifting from one side to the other and the front of my teeth to the back. If I was doing it again I probably would start with a countertop unit. It might be difficult with the countertop unit but maybe a little less cumbersome! Hopefully in a few weeks I'll be looking back and wondering how I could have been so awkward! The Waterpik Water flosser is not great. I bought it to replace an old Oral-B Braun Professional Care Oxyjet Irrigator, and it seems like a huge step backward.Because the whole Waterpik unit is held in your hand, it's heavy, bulky, and slow to move, which means you can't get good aim at your gum-line and between your teeth. If you can't aim it then you can't clean your teeth effectively. And there's only two pressure settings: high and low (too low). The water tank is so small it runs out after a few seconds. It feels like a bad design all-round.On the other hand, the Oral-B Irrigator Oral-B Oxyjet has a dial so you can adjust the strength smoothly, its nozzle is simple to aim because it's on a flexible hose and weighs very little, and the water-tank is large ... MoreThe Waterpik Water flosser is not great. The other machines were too loud and very bulky to travel with. This model had very low noise in comparison. As well, the 2 settings were all I needed. All the residue came out during the timeout of the low setting. Yes, using the high setting caused the entire process to be quicker, but then by refilling and immediately using the high setting I noticed that no additional residue came out. BOTTOM LINE: Low noise, all mouth residue gone at low power setting, and easy to pack for traveling met my needs!
This Waterpik has some pluses and some minuses. It does floss real good and seems to get all the water out of the reservoir in an excellent manner. However I store this in a corner of my countertop and every day even though I wipe it off thoroughly after each use, there’s a puddle of water under the floss or when I go to use it the next morning. So the water is leaking from somewhere. I’ve had a Waterpik cordless flosser for years but the battery just finally went dead on it so I bought this new one. I’m disappointed in the water pool that appears every morning. So I’m returning it and going with the not so expensive model which is what I had previously in hopes that it will not leave a water puddle under it on the countertop.
Not for everyone, it certainly isn’t for us. I purchased two, one for myself and one for teenage daughter. I found it incredibly harsh on the gums and scalded my tongue at first as it requires a special technique. It also doesn’t allow you to turn it off without moving onto the higher setting first, which is awful if you’re already finding it quite harsh. It’s handy that it can be used in the shower and has a detachable water chamber but that’s about it. Returned the unopened one but disappointed that a return for the opened one wasn’t welcomed by Shavershop customer service when I provided detailed feedback. The return in store was easy, contacting customer service online was somewhat painful.
Don’t reinvent the wheel! The swivel dial is unnecessary, it should lock in place or eliminate it. To move the tip direction..just move your wrist! The electrical connection it awkward. The cord had to be perfectly flat ( it comes curled ), connect on a flat surface. It pops off the magnet connection to easily. Connection should be more secure. There should be a quick shut off without having to go through the selections.I have been using many designed “ Waterpiks” since the day I got braces..over 50 years ago! I use my water pik 2x a day in the shower, for this I love that you designed this one specifically for the shower. However, since the cordless models came out years ago I always used it in the shower without a problem .Perhaps this one will last longer. I ... MoreDon’t reinvent the wheel! I guess the higher price may be an indication of that. All in all I still trust the Water Pik band and never travel without it.Brushing and string flossing just isn’t enough.
I liked using this Waterpik. I thought the pressure was just right. I did have a problem with not being able to open the reservoir to clean it. The User Manual says that it is dishwasher safe, but I don't see how a dishwasher is going to clean the inside of the reservoir, since the holes are so small. Anyway, that is not the most important problem. This abruptly stopped working after 18 months. It is fully charged, but when I press the power button, nothing happens. It cannot be returned to BB&B, but it is within the 2-year warranty, so I guess I will have to deal with the manufacturer. Bummer.
I have used waterpiks for many years. I bought this one a couple months ago and use it everyday. It holds a good charge and has a lot of power. The big problem is the same as many people are complaining about, mold at the bottom of the water tank. I always leave the little door open and try to dry it out, but the mold is persistent. It is in a place that you can’t get to, so once it gets in there, all you can do is throw it out. I wish I had known about this before buying it. I have never had this problem with any previous units, but this particular unit has a serious design flaw!
