Also the wheel covers on mine are solid black as opposed to the grayish color in the pictures. So looks wise I think mine looks better than the old style.A bad thing: One of the nuts required to assemble the lid holding mechanism came with damaged threads. There were no extras supplied by Weber. So I had to make a trip to a hardware store to find a replacement nut in order to finish assembling the grill.Additionally, it turns out I don’t like the warming rack as it kind of gets in the way. It’s of good quality for those who need a warming rack, though. It just turns out I would’ve preferred a cheaper option that didn’t include the warming rack. Similarly, I would’ve preferred a cheaper option that didn’t include Weber’s silly GBS grill grate with the removable center. But I paid a premium despite not wanting those things because I really really REALLY wanted to attached lid bail system of the master touch. I appreciate being able to slide the lid away and to the side as opposed to lifting and hanging it. And the upgraded ash catcher is nice, too. I’d have done a premium if it had the nicer lid system.Ultimately, I probably should’ve just bought a much cheaper Jumbo Joe considering my needs. But there is no doubt the Master Touch is nicer.

I've always purchased Weber because my father always purchased weber. Quality build, longevity equals value. I was excited to know about the new 26inch kettle knowing that I was due for a new one. I do enjoy the larger cooking surface, the kettle is thick and heavy, when you lift the lid it slides back further out of the way for better visuals. A lot of what you expect from weber is still there. Where Weber needs to step up is the ash catcher is garbage. Cheap and flimsy. Easy to take off because when its full of ash it usually just falls off, and a pain to put back on.I loved my performer grill, I called to see if the 26inch kettle was coming out as a performer and know one knew. The cooking grate while built strong and heavy is also very clumsy. Hinged on the sides awesome. The circular wok in the middle not so much. It falls into the fire on occasion. When working with the grate you have to find a flat surface to set it on. If it came as a performer it would have had a built-in table surface to set it on. Next option is the ground, all kinds of safety issues especially when hot.

Bought from local Ace Hardware as a christmas present. Was missing the char basket and screw for handle. Called weber support and got sent replacements for both with no hassle except the char basket took a couple weeks and came a week late but was getting delivered during winter storm so no complaints there. Putting together the grill was definitely a bit of a hassle and some parts aren't screwed tight and it came with a warming rack which I don't really use so it's just collecting dust in the garage. Overall I think getting the original 22 inch is definitely more worth it than the master touch. For almost 300 dollars the quality wasn't really up to my expectations and the original is about half the price and can do what the master touch can do. If you grill everyday or something I guess this would be worth it for the ash catcher, char basket, and increased height but if you're a beginner or don't grill that much I would definitely recommend getting the original. Honestly the dome thermometer also is something I don't really look at so save the money and use it to buy an actual accurate thermometer for the ambient temp.Sorry for the rambling but TLDR save the money and just buy the original weber 22 and mod it

It's a minor issue, sure, but I thought I should at least mention it because it's a small thing that as contributed to the overall poor rating of this product. A new ash pan is being sent to replace this part.4. I ordered this grill via the website (after several weeks of it being unavailable in the black trim) and purchased the upgraded Stainless Steel grill grates. It arrived with Plated Steel grates. I wouldn't have noticed, except that I already had a new set of each on hand from previous purchases and could compare them side by side.Customer Service was quick to replace the grates. However, the new grates arrived broken and unable to be used. One bar was broken away from the grill, it was the bar that holds on the flip up portion of the grate. So, that part just fell right off. I'm not a welder, so I have no way to repair it.Then the replacement grates for the replacement grates arrived bent. Attempting to flatten them causes them to spring back and pop the center part out. They are unusable in this state.So... A replacement for the replacement for the replacement was sent it it was in perfect working order.4. About that 2nd dash at the top. "Items Did Not Match the Webpage"The new 22" Master Touch grills I've seen at my local hardware store have Charcoal Rails in them. Rails, not baskets. For me, personally, I wanted the rails because they are more versatile and you can use fire bricks along side them for slow cooking temperature regulation. Plus, they are adjustable. Which means they can be used for a lot of applications that the Charcoal Baskets cannot.I specifically wanted the Charcoal Rails. So, I checked the listing on the Weber site and confirmed that the BYOMT comes with charcoal rails. Mine arrived with the baskets. Fixing the issue was simple enough, although it did take walking the agent through to the website where they could see the item is indeed listed with charcoal rails and not charcoal baskets. The charcoal rails arrived in perfect working order. It may seem trivial, but I expect to get what I pay for, especially at this price point.Charcoal rails were sent to me and have arrived at the time of this writing. They seem to be in working order. However, it bugs me a bit, and buyers should be made aware that you might get the "old model" Master Touch with the Charcoal Baskets instead of the Charcoal Rails when you order directly from the website.---All that being said, Customer Service has helped to resolve all of these issues. At the time of this writing I am still awaiting the arrival of a new Hood, Ash Pan and Leg Assembly to repair my new grill.I have spent a lot of time on the phone with customer service and with providing pictures and proof of all these issues to them, but aside from that they are genuinely nice and helpful and go above and beyond to get issues resolved. Now, with all THAT being said, would I recommend buying from Weber?Maybe. I guess we'll see when these replacements arrive and the situation is completely resolved. They're still a good product, especially when compared to the competition. Plus, they're (MOSTLY) made in the U.S.A. I've just hit the "What Could Go Wrong With Your Weber BINGO!" card with this purchase. But they are NOT my Grandpa's Weber.

I'm learning the nuances of the multiple features on this grill. I use the optional sear grate often. It works very well. The thicker ribs on the cooking grate are sturdy and create even heat for well defined grill marks. The improved lower vent allows for highly accurate temperature control. I cooked three slabs of ribs a couple of weeks ago and the temperature held steady at 250 degrees for entire cooking time.I also got the heat diffuser. I'm still learning how to use it, but so far it's been a great learning opportunity.I've very happy with my 26" Master-Touch Grill and highly recommend it to anyone who uses charcoal for cooking outdoors.Well done, Weber!

My fiance and I just moved into a new house and on this day I felt like grilling some chicken for our first meal in the house. I have my smoker and blackstone but I didn't have a regular grill yet. So I went to my phone to do a quick research on grills and I decided I wanted a charcoal grill. So after checking a few stores I went to the ace website. I set for pickup and when I arrived at my local ace I was surprised to see it was already assembled which I don't know if they come that way or the people at ace were just board and decided to build mine but I couldn't be more pleased with ace hardware these days and I will be looking forward to come back because I want the rotisserie for this puppy. I highly recommend this grill to anyone who wants a charcoal grill. Webers quality is incredible.
I had to return the Master-Touch because when it arrived, the lid was damaged. So, I had to buy an Original Kettle Premium instead because they don't carry the Master-Touch on the sales floor at Home Depot. In my opinion, the packaging is not nearly sufficient enough to allow for single item delivery. I'm sure it's just fine if it's on a pallet with a dozen other grills, but the rim of the lid rests way too close to the perimeter/edge of the box. All it takes is one mishandled drop of the box by a delivery person, and the lid is very easily damaged. And I am not suggesting adding Styrofoam to protect the lid; rather, the packaging should be redesigned so that the cardboard is more than sufficient. Again, I don't think this is an item that should be shipped ... MoreI had to return the Master-Touch because when it arrived, the lid was damaged. Due to the size of the box and the poor packaging, it makes for awkward handling by delivery people and could be easily dropped resulting in significant damage to the lid.
I decided to "upgrade" our current 18" weber to the 22" Master touch.First off, that little 18" is ten years going strong and plans to be around for many more years so we have no plans to get rid of it.I gotta tell you, the 22" Master touch is a gorgeous grill. I purchased the additional rotisserie attachment and we enjoyed one of the best prime rib roasts we've ever had on Christmas day. Can't wait to rotisserie some chickens on that.My proclivity to stick with a charcoal grill was my driving force here, as I find my hubby is much more attentive to cooking with charcoal as opposed to a gas grill, though one day we might get another one of those, and you cannot beat the taste of food cooked on a charcoal grill. The grill itself is so well made and attention to ... MoreI decided to "upgrade" our current 18" weber to the 22" Master touch.First off, that little 18" is ten years going strong and plans to be around for many more years so we have no plans to get rid of it.I gotta tell you, the 22" Master touch is a gorgeous grill.
