The Weber Master-Touch 22′′ Charcoal Grill in Deep Ocean Blue is a great addition to the Weber lineup. The grill is outfitted with innovative heavy-duty Gourmet BBQ System cooking grates, a two-part grate system that may be used in tandem with Weber's Gourmet BBQ System cookware collection. To use the cookware, the center insert grate is removed and the cookware installed. The outer grates remain in place so additional foods may be grilled. The cookware collection (sold separately) includes a porcelain-enameled cast-iron Griddle, Sear Grate, Wok, plus a stainless steel Poultry Roaster and Pizza Stone with Carry Rack. Traditional grilling over the full grilling surface is accomplished with the insert grate and outer grates in place. The Master-Touch Charcoal Grill features many other benefits, such as taller legs to raise grill to optimal height and a shield on the lid handle to give extra protection to hands.

However, after using this grill, I'm left wondering where the "premium" part is.The grill's easy-grip damper handle, which should supposedly be a standout feature in comparison to its more basic counterparts, melted the second time I used it. This was not a case of overloading the grill; I used only the amount of charcoal that fits in a Weber Compact Rapidfire Chimney Starter. Despite this small amount of coal, the handle melted, dripping plastic onto the lid and ruining the brand new paint job. It seems this grill is not built to withstand even the heat it's supposed to be capable of managing. The hinged lid mechanism, another selling point of this grill, is absurdly frustrating. The lid does not fit correctly, allowing smoke to leak out from all sides, making cooking inefficient and messy. Weber suggests that after a few uses, a carbon layer will develop between the lid and the base, improving the fit and function. But honestly, why should one have to wait for a $500+ grill to "break in" before it performs correctly? This seems more like a design flaw than a feature, and it's not something you'd expect from a so-called "premium" product.Yes, the accessories that come with the grill are of good quality. But they alone cannot justify the exorbitant price of the grill. If the accessories are what draw you to this grill, I suggest purchasing the standard Master-Touch Charcoal Grill 22" and buying the accessories separately. That way, you'll save money and likely avoid the disappointment I've experienced. If you're particularly interested in the hinged lid and the easy-grip damper handle, I would strongly advise against purchasing this grill. Instead, opt for the Pro Charcoal from Napoleon. It features the same functions, it's cheaper, and it doesn't come with the same headaches that the Weber Master-Touch Premium has brought me.In conclusion, the Weber Master-Touch Premium Charcoal Grill 22" is a grill that fails to live up to its "premium" label or its high price point. It's an investment that I regret and one I would advise against making.

I purchased 2 of the Burnt Orange Master Touch ke.
23 June 2023

I ordered 2 of the Burnt orange Master Touch grills. One of them had flaws in the enamel on both the bowl and lid, chips in the surface and areas where the enamel was missing. The hardware such as legs and lid handle were damaged. It was disappointing..,but the associates at Weber have been working to resolve my situation. I ordered the grill on May 16 of 2023 and Weber has replaced the defective parts except for the bowl. Still waiting on that and it’s now June 23. Nonetheless I have confidence the issue will be resolved sooner then later. The 2nd kettle I purchased was nearly flawless except for missing some enamel around the bowl handle. I’ve decided to just live with it rather then go through the lengthy warranty claim process again. I’ve purchased many kettles ... MoreI ordered 2 of the Burnt orange Master Touch grills. Not impressed

I have not yet used the grill but I have put it together and unfortunately I am not impressed with some basic details.Note that this is my first Weber grill. I actually switched from another brand since everybody’s always talking about Weber and how great they are. So I decided to sell my propane and charcoal grills and get into Weber environment.1- When I was assembling the Master touch grill, I had a lot of difficulties with the first leg as it would not fit in the grill’s hole. Since the manual instructed not to use hammer or force, at first I spent half an hour on that leg but it did not fit through so I started hammering it down which eventually worked but damaged the leg.2- The four mini shelf angle L brackets that support the stainless steel grate are ... MoreI have not yet used the grill but I have put it together and unfortunately I am not impressed with some basic details.Note that this is my first Weber grill. Now I am not even sure if I want to buy a propane one or not!I will update my review once I use the grill to actually BBQ some food.

Like the idea of going back to basics with a charcoal grill. Sold my pellet grill after 3 years and bought a 22" Master Touch. I even got all kinds of accessories for it. The cooking results are great. Some things I am disappointed in :1) The ash catcher is very difficult to put back after emptying. It is too close to the size of the upper part and barely fits.2) The easy to assemble legs were hard to put into the tubes on the kettle because of welding slag in the holes. Once in, the grill is wobbly and when cleaning the grates, the whole grill is loose and you have to hold onto it with one hand while brushing the grates.3) The ash scrapers that rotate with the lever don't get much of the ash out. This is my second Webber charcoal 57cm BBQ as the other one finally came to the end of its life after 11 years. The assembly instructions for this new SE E=5775 was clear and took little time to put together. After assembled the whole unit does feels sturdy and good quality. However, there is a small chip to the porcelain enamelled rim which I was a bit disappointed as the BBQ is not cheap. The other thing I noticed is that the lid rim feels sharp at the edges which my previous one wasn’t. My whole purchase was a little over £500 which I thought was good value.Putting the thing together was annoyingly complicated, compounded by a poor instruction manual with confusing pictures. It took 3 of us over an hour to complete and I have since realised we got the legs the wrong way round, but I really can't be bothered to take it apart and rebuild it!The performance of the bbq is great, it cooked the food to perfection with no flare ups and very little hassle. It is very easy to clean and I love the ash collector underneath for an easy clean up.If I was judging the bbq only it would definitely score 5/5, but I have to deduct a point for the complexity of putting the thing together and another point for receiving 13 instruction manuals in 13 different languages. What a waste of trees...disgusting!My main gripe was the difficulty of claiming the free gift, a process obviously made over complicated and time consuming in the hope that the customer gives up. Firstly making the code number almost impossible to find, I scoured every bit of packaging, every page of the manuals and searched your website extensively. I eventually found a tiny little number on the barcode sticker of the box, very innocuous and well hidden! The process once I had found the code was long and drawn out and I eventually threw down my laptop in utter frustration. It was my youngest daughter that picked it up and finished off the process. The pizza stone still hasn't arrived!Really Weber you should be ashamed of yourselves, if you can't be genuine about an offer then please don't bother. Do you really believe your customers have the time and patience to play your stupid games. It should be noted that if I had purchased the bbq direct from the weber website the free gift would have been added automatically. Maybe something for your trade customers to discuss with your representative next time they call! The bbq is great, but I won't bother with you again, life is too short....
