I’m not the most experienced backyard bbq-er, and we didn’t need/want anything too large or fancy. So this grill checks all the boxes: ease to use, compact, easy to transport, easy to set up and collapse, and relatively easy to clean…although cleaning any grill is never any fun. But cooking with a grill pad makes cleanup a breeze and you still get nice grill marks if you want them. This grill also feels very high quality as compared with a direct competitor (which we returned in exchange for this…and I’m so glad we did). The competitor was less expensive but also much more rickety and finicky. It’s true what they say: Weber makes much better grills than camp equipment brands. This is a well-designed, well-built, reliable, and sturdy grill for the casual cook…better yet, it heats up fast and the cooking surface is surprisingly big.One thing that’s a bit tedious is connecting the gas to the grill. I don’t think it’s possible to connect a 1lb propane canister while the grill is collapsed, so addition to needing to crouch down low to reach the connector on the underside, it takes a couple of tries to find the precise angle to get the connector to screw in properly. Same with the Weber hose for connecting a 20lb tank. Since the hose is a Weber-to-Weber product, shouldn’t it be just as easy to connect the hose to the propane tank (super easy!) as it is to connect it to the grill (not so easy)? This feels like a simple innovation that should have already been achieved. Regardless, I’m still giving this grill five stars.

Excellent quality product with the exception of the poorly designed locking mechanism. We were able to fix this by adding a piece of material in-between the lock and the bar. Now its stays in place. Hello we recently purchased a Weber Traveller Grill here in Coronado, Panama and it worked for about a month and then it started doing the following.1. When we lite it the flame would only stay very small so the max temperature we could get it too was 350 F. This meant it took a long time to grill anything.2. After a short time or if we tried to adjust the flame it would go out and it would not let us re lite it until the next day.3. I went back to the store where I purchased it and they really didn’t know what to do ir think.4. I hired a local gas service guy and when he came out to check it out he thought that the value on the propane tank was defective so I took it back to the store and convinced them to give me a new one.Guest what the first night we used ... MoreHello we recently purchased a Weber Traveller Grill here in Coronado, Panama and it worked for about a month and then it started doing the following.1. I've had this grill for 2 months and love it! Use it at home several times a week for all meals. Top quality construction throughout. Very easy to fold up and move whether on the wheels or just by lifting the whole thing, folded or not; all the parts lock in place. I leave it set up and roll it into my garage when not in use to keep the bugs and critters out. I have an accessory hose to hook up to a standard propane tank vs. using the small cylinders that screw directly onto the grill, and have been amazed at how little gas it uses. Easy to clean; the porcelain-coated grates lift right out, and the burner area can be thoroughly cleaned without removing the burner. Easy to clean; the porcelain-coated grates lift right out, and the burner area can be thoroughly cleaned without removing the burner. I bought an accessory griddle that replaces one of the two grates, which makes it a snap to cook eggs, pancakes, and other stuff when you don't want dripping into the burner. I typically cook easy dishes and only for me, so the single burner is adequate and keeps things simple. Not cheap for a small grill, but I'm glad I got it.
I finally had occasion to cook with the unit utilizing both the grill and griddle surfaces simotainously. There were no flare ups on the grill side and the griddle was non stick. The clean up was very easy, and there was suffient surface for cooking. The unit stores nicely on the 5th wheel when retracted and can be very easily manuvered, and in my opinion lifted by one person. It is also worth mentioning that the liquids created during the cook collected nicely in the pan located in the bottom interior of the unit, and that during clean up there was no mess found on the exterior bottom of the unit or on the ground beneith the pan that would have lured ants to the immediate area. The grill is an absolute winner all the way around, and would without hesitation ... MoreI finally had occasion to cook with the unit utilizing both the grill and griddle surfaces simotainously. The grill is an absolute winner all the way around, and would without hesitation highly recommend this purhase.Keep in mInd there are others that imitate the webber grill but after making a number of reviews myself concluded that the look-a-likes were some what inferior or just lacking.Keep in mind there are other grills out there, however; it is important to remember that you get what you pay for. This grill is definitely worth money without a doubt.
I rarely write reviews, but felt compelled to for this awesome grill so that other shoppers can avoid agonizing over the purchase like I did. It does its job exactly as promoted and doesn’t let you down. I dare anyone to try to make a grill more adaptable and transportable. Whether you are tailgating with a hammered crew or having a steak dinner with a date, you need to own this rig. It lights simply, heats up quickly (yes, even in the snow), has a large cooking surface, is easy to clean, takes seconds to set up or collapse, and fits great in an SUV or truck bed. Do you like to party at home? Buy it. Do you like to party on vacation? Buy it. Do you like to party at your friends’ houses but don’t trust their garbage equipment? Buy It. I work this grill hard and often and have never experienced any problem. It is an absolute workhorse. Everyone I have shown this grill to is jealous. You roll down the lot and whip this Weber out and the people know you mean business. If you don’t have your credit card out yet, you should be yelling at the person in the next room to see if they’ve seen your wallet.
Despite following the instructions properly. The 2nd day I received the bbq the gas spring (hydraulic arm) just snapped and the bbq slammed the floor. Luckily the Weber team sent me a replacement. However, I noticed the handle was flimsy. I requested a replacement but I was told that according to my video I sent it seems to be working normal even though I sent video and pictures as proof. The handle doesn’t lock properly and it is a hazard because the cart drops sideways whenever you are using the bbq. I haven’t heard back wether or not I qualify for a handle replacement. Unfortunately I can’t return it otherwise I would do. The bbq looks great for looks but it is too fragile in my opinion. For the price I was expecting a better quality from Weber. I love this little grill. It's light enough for me to carry by myself (I'm small) but big enough to use as my primary grill. Two drawbacks I've noticed that are not an issue for me but might be a problem for others are:1. There is only one heating element, so you can't turn off the burners on one side to use that side for indirect heating, while cooking over direct heat on the side with the burner turned on.2.Getting the temperature to the proper setting is a bit more finicky than with my old Spirit grill. If I warm the grill to 500 degrees or higher and then want to keep it at medium heat (350-450 degrees) as recommended in the Weber cookbooks I purchased, I keep having to play with both the heat level control AND open the grill periodically. I don't recall having to do that with my Spirit grill--I could just drop the temperature dial to halfway and then ignore it. Then again, I wasn't paying nearly the same attention to temperature with my old grill, so maybe it was the same. Not sure. All in all, this is a versatile grill that can be used as a stationary grill on your deck and be folded up and carried to a park or campsite as needed. It's easy to clean and does a nice job of cooking burgers, brats, and hot dogs. Haven't tried cooking anything else yet.
I bought this just before canada day long weekend. So easy to use the only installation you be doin on this is putting the wheels on other then that its already assembled. Its so smooth to set up and the hydraulics make the BBQ fold so smoothly when it folds down on its own and locks automatically. It is such a space saver for loading into your vehicle and for when you need to store it away for the next outing. This BBQ would be perfect for someone who lives in a condo with a balcony as this BBQ is so compact it wont take up a lot of space. This grill is awesome the only thing that sucks and why it doesnt get a 5* from me is that there's only one side table instead of two. They should of made a slide out or pop out table. You should also give for free both side griddle parts since we're already spending over $500 but other than that this grill is beyond amazing. Weber you should make this grill dual cook meaning propane and charcoal instead of just gas. Your sales will double real quick. Last thing that is a real negative is why do I have to pay more to get a different color. These grills should all be the same price no matter what color the client decides to choose from. For future use I have no problem reviewing any of your products or being sponsored. 😉 😉
