A neat compact unit, albeit a bit “plasticy” looking, but good for the money.Only used once so far, so a bit hard to rate its performance, but seemed to grind to a consistent standard.Being plastic, the ground powder electrostatically (?) sticks to the container which is a little annoying, but again that’s what you get for the money.Bit surprised there was no guide provided as to the coarseness of the grind (ie best setting for espresso, drip, etc) as I am new to this art of coffee making, but a bit of trial and error should get me past that.So, all in all, I am happy with the purchase and trust that with due maintenance and cleaning it will last.

Overall happy with my purchase for price and quality - well suited to grind for aeropress or moka pot. I don't need more. As a new user I checked out the grind retention after just a couple of grinds. No great surprise that retention is significant. As it is fairly easy to disassemble and brush out I would recommend cleaning once or twice a week depending on use.

We are very pleased with our new coffee grinder. It is small and compact and has everything we need. Works well and simple to operate. No. 2 grind setting is great for fine grind and it has up to 60 seconds grind timer (which gives enough coffee for 2 large cups of strong coffee). We have been using it for a couple of weeks and are very satisfied. The communication with Alternative Brewing was prompt and delivery super fast. We will be a returning customer for sure.

While it grinds great and I would give it 4.5 stars for this.The motor is the weak point. I would deem myself an average user as I only make coffee once a day for my wife and myself.Usage is 5-6 times per week for a 4 cup Moka Pot - not much coffee being grinded.Today I I noticed an electrical burn smell and the motor sounded as if it was losing power and a flashing red light started flashing.Did I over do it in keeping this clean I wonder, as I ensured every 2 - 3 weeks I would clean the insides with the supplied brush and rinse clean and dry the burr grinder according to the instructions - as it is removable to do so.I recommend avoiding it for this reason alone. I love grinding my coffee in the morning! It’s a night and day difference moving from stale pre ground coffee to delicious fresh ground coffee every morning. This entry level machine is a pleasure to use and seems to grind finer than I can use in my moka pot. It’s a little noisey but for the money I think is reasonable. Very very happy !!
I purchased this to replace an old $20 blade grinder I've been using for the last 10 years! I wanted to be nicer to my beans so they made me happier with greater flavour. I use a Bialetti Brikka Moka Pot and so thought I needed the grind really fine so I setup this on the finest mode. Seems the unit struggles with that level of fine grains, it get's there but takes over the 60 seconds recommended in a single use and makes less than the required coffee for a 4 CUP Brikka. Pretty soon I noticed the Brikka doesn't need anything quite that fine and so I now have the unit set to 2.5 and it takes only 20 seconds to grind and the coffee is better as well, less sludge etc. Very happy with the unit, size was a factor for me and this is pretty small for a conical burr unit. ... MoreI purchased this to replace an old $20 blade grinder I've been using for the last 10 years! Purchased to downsize from an oversized and problematic Cunill grinder that I never got along with. Here's the numbers for the beans I've been using, yours may vary:Delter Press: 4Sunbeam Espresso machine: 3 - grind for 20 seconds into an empty chamber to fill the grouphead with no waste.I tried using 1 and 2, but found that the machine clogged up and wouldn't let any beans pass through. Not really a problem as 3 is as low as I need to go for what is probably the best espresso I've ever made, thanks to this grinder.One slight issue is that I ordered black and was send white. No problem though. Very happy with this purchase and Alternative Brewing!
Just like coffee, culinary spices lose their flavour when ground. I prefer to buy spices as seeds and grinder as I use. Dedicated spice grinders are at a professional level, hence too large and too expensive for home use. I turned to a coffee grinder and purchased this Welhome. It does a great job, with variable grind settings between 10 and 1(finest) I have found that setting 3 gives a fine grind, suitable for making curry mixes. The consistency of the grind is excellent leading to a consistent flavour in the food. The staff at alternative brewing were very helpful, responding quickly to emails and with knowledgeable answers. I am so impressed by this little grinder. For the first time in my life I have proper French Press coffee at home without any muddiness at all! I used 8 grind setting and the consistency was absolutely perfect. I could not detect any fines whatsoever! Very happy. The grinder is not as loud or as big as I thought it would be either, it fits neatly on my kitchen bench next to my other gear. Thank you Alternative Brewing for turning me into a coffee enthusiast :)
Easy to use. Quieter than expected. Consistent grind size. Can set to grind dose you want with timer. Great grinder to support my Gaggia Classic. Good value for money. Coffee has never tasted better in our house!
