Westinghouse 10kg Top Load Washer - WWT1084C7WA

So far, so good after about 10 washes. Very happy with the wash results. So soap residue, no lint issue, little wrinkling, rinse and spin good. The Eco wash feature is very user friendly, even though that choice of cycle takes 2 hours to complete. But if you want quicker, there is quicker. I would like to see a better lint filter system on all brands, including a filter for micro plastics, which I am told would cost manufacturers about $15 to include. But, as far as what is available on the limited market of good washing machines, so far we are happy with our choice.

Below standard performance

We chose this machine due to its dimensions. We have limited space between bench tops. We had a front loader for 8 years prior to this machine. We are very dissatisfied with its performance. Every load since the first has come out with lint over our clothes. We have read the manual to troubleshoot, and checked the lint capture mesh bag, with no change! We check pockets etc before each load, and have never had this lint problem before. I would not recommend this product!

Big and quiet.

Bought 4 days ago to replace irreparable 35 y.o. Simpson Model 165. Happy with new one. Used 5 times. Only using top of dial settings that govern the length of wash time, though there are more settings elsewhere on dial. Detergent dispenser works though don't overload it or use high sudsing powder. Use HE or front load powder or pour liquid detergent onto the clothing. Don't use fabric softener as it'll stuff the machine over time. Make sure you've got more than 67cm wide space or it'll be out in the middle of your floor. Power cord comes out of rhs so if power point is on lhs you've got a 1.2 metre cord that you'll have to wrap around the rear to the power point. Can't use extension or power board so know all that. Buy it.

Dont buy this machine

I owned a Westinghouse washing machine prior to this for 15 years. It was a great machine so when that finally gave up I bought another one. What a mistake that was. Bought in November, only 2 days home and installed and error codes. Would only go on one wash cycle, then it was not filling. So called Harvey Norman and they called the repairman. They took ages to come out, so without a washer for a week. They replaced it with the same model my choice because Harvey Norman said it may just be the batch that was faulty so we tried again. This one was good.... for a month. Well it wasnt exactly good because clothes were always coming out with lint and white stuff all over them (even though I used liquid detergent) so i would have to rewash everything multiple times. ... MoreI owned a Westinghouse washing machine prior to this for 15 years. Installer has come and taken it away, so left with no machine again and have to waste all that time going out and choosing a new machine on the weekend. I will avoid Westinghouse from now on. Pity cause they used to be a brilliant brand.

Excellent washing machine

So pleased with this washing machine, I looked at a few before deciding on the Westinghouse, can't beat Westinghouse products, it's lovely compact design, I really like the Auto water level that's great, no more adjusting it's does it for you. So many cycles to choose from, different spin cycles as in the strength of the spin so towels I use high spin, other delicate items I use the low spin option. The soft closing glass lid is nice, and it beeps once the cycle is finished, you can turn that off if you wish, I like it. Also big thankyou to Eddie who installed it, made sure it was level and tested it. Awesome service from appliances online & they delivered it the next day & took my old washing machine away. Good Basic Large Machine

Nothing too fancy but is a good, easy to use machine. See through lid and digital display with some setting sounds. But otherwise fairly basic and easy to use. Easy to throw in extra clothing after starting (unlike front loaders which lock until finished washing). Not complicated with unnecessary bells and whistles or overwhelming with too many electronics or settings. It is quite large, so measure the height of your taps because it is a tall machine and extends out frontwards some distance (may impede doorways). We find it to be large, easy to use, convenient, modern enough but still retaining a basic washing machine nature. Would recommend to families that need to wash large loads and need to throw in extra forgotten clothes after wash has started.

Really love this machine. Very easy to use. I do pretty much all our clothes in one wash, theres four in our family a 17 mth old, 3.5 year old & two adults. Love the 20 min fast wash but cant select water level with that cycle, its very low so only a small load can be done. The drawer for the powder doesnt slide back in easily, (maybe just because its new) and the scoop needs to be emptied on an angle to get all the powder in without spilling it into the drum (where it goes in the end anyway!) but I love the digital display mins left, where its at in the selected cycle & how quiet this machine is. Our laundry backs onto my babys bedroom & I can do a cycle without waking the little light sleeper. Even the spin cycle is quiet. 10kgs is MASSIVE, usually one load of clothes, one load of towels & I'm done for the day! It does use a lot of water but you use the machine less because you put more in each load. Im 52 & I almost need a step to get the socks at the bottom of the drum when unloading. Makes me smile! I love it!

Too rough

This machine washes well if you're a tradie or you have a family of children who like to roll in the dirt. For someone with more refined clothes that they'd like to last more than a few washes it is way too rough. It has shrunk our clothes and faded them. Items come out very crinkled. The spin to fantastic but not for dress clothes. Even though it has numerous cycles including delicate the machine is heavy duty. I changed everything to a delicate cycle but it's still not gentle. I know so many people are into active wear and hoodies these days so maybe that's what it's for. If you're tradie or using it for industrial washing go for it! We have to dispose of it and buy a new machine.

Very happy

I did my homework before deciding on this washing machine. Very happy with my purchase. Being Australian made was high up there and the price was reasonable within my budget. Its easy to use, looks arent everything but it looks very smart and for a 7kg washer its quite a neat size. I love that it is so quiet and my clothes come out very fresh and clean, also because it has an agitator its gentle on the clothing. My last washer didnt have an agitator so never again would I buy a washing machine without one. Very pleased with my purchase, the Good Guys as always were great to deal with ensuring the purchase and delivery all went well.

ok, but not as good as the old simpsons

I bought it, as it looked similar to my old simpson in form and functionThe simpson, I could choose the combination of functions, that I wanted to use for the wash cycle, not so for the westinghouse. It has preprogrammed functions, some of which are OK.The filter on the simpson would catch the dog hair, not so for the westinghouse, one could say the filter is useless.It does not seem to wash the dirty linen the same as the simpson, it appears to have a more gentle washing action. This is also noted in the instruction when washing linen.I only wash one day per week, but I do about 6 loads on that day, so I have done 30 loads since getting the westinghouse .I can only compare it to my previous simpson washing machines ( of which I have had 3 of ) which look the same as the westinghouse.I had the simpsons for many years and they served me well, unfortunately I have only had the westinghouse for 5 weeks.Maybe in time I will fall out of love with the simpson , and develop a romance of the westinghouse ! ?
