Bought 4 days ago to replace irreparable 35 y.o. Simpson Model 165. Happy with new one. Used 5 times. Only using top of dial settings that govern the length of wash time, though there are more settings elsewhere on dial. Detergent dispenser works though don't overload it or use high sudsing powder. Use HE or front load powder or pour liquid detergent onto the clothing. Don't use fabric softener as it'll stuff the machine over time. Make sure you've got more than 67cm wide space or it'll be out in the middle of your floor. Power cord comes out of rhs so if power point is on lhs you've got a 1.2 metre cord that you'll have to wrap around the rear to the power point. Can't use extension or power board so know all that. Buy it.

My machine is only 2 weeks old, but I previously lived with another brand 10kg top load with agitator and stainless steel drum for 2 years. Other brand washer constantly went off balance which left the final spin..'unspun'. It is a pleasure to hear the final spin on my Westinghouse, the soft close lid is a joy. Yesterday I bought a Westinghouse 425lt bottom mont fridge.

Really love this machine. Very easy to use. I do pretty much all our clothes in one wash, theres four in our family a 17 mth old, 3.5 year old & two adults. Love the 20 min fast wash but cant select water level with that cycle, its very low so only a small load can be done. The drawer for the powder doesnt slide back in easily, (maybe just because its new) and the scoop needs to be emptied on an angle to get all the powder in without spilling it into the drum (where it goes in the end anyway!) but I love the digital display mins left, where its at in the selected cycle & how quiet this machine is. Our laundry backs onto my babys bedroom & I can do a cycle without waking the little light sleeper. Even the spin cycle is quiet. 10kgs is MASSIVE, usually one load of clothes, one load of towels & I'm done for the day! It does use a lot of water but you use the machine less because you put more in each load. Im 52 & I almost need a step to get the socks at the bottom of the drum when unloading. Makes me smile! I love it!
Having been a Happy family with an older Simpson washing machine for 15 years or so , we needed to replace this tired old servant. What an absolute joy to get the newer Westinghouse 10 kg Easy CareThis machine has options for every need , more volume and for us more importantly a quieter operation. Quality of wash is most important and has mastered the that so well !Very happy customer
Well built for the price and can fit King sheets and blankets in the drum easily.Only annoying issue is the water hammer created by the stop start during filling. This could easily be fixed by programming a timer to keep the water on for 2 seconds once the full water sensor activated. This would eliminate the need to spend another $75 on a quality water hammer dampener for each water tap.Service price and delivery faultless.
Machine did not work properly from day one. Auto fill did not cover clothes, wash cycle only lasted 3 mins and spin cycle did not spin clothes properly. Clothes came out dripping wet. I rang the store immediately and was told a technician would take over 2 weeks to come and look at machine. Ten days later machine was stopping every 2 minutes during cycles so I couldn't complete a single wash. Luckily, I had Gold Services Extras and the Concierge there was brilliant. She rang store and arranged for me to get an immediate replacement and said this should have been done from day one. Don't waste your money on this machine. If you purchase Gold Services Extras contact them direct if you have any issues, do not contact the store you purchased from.
I bought this a few weeks ago and I must say its brilliant . I had a Simpson previously but they are no longer available so I went for Westinghouse.So many features and so easy to use. My washing is clean and lint free and also not tangled up like some of the other reviews I saw.?? Luckily i look beyond negative feedback that is not warranted from people who dont know how to use a washing machine.It is a quiet machine and i love the functions available. Everything works perfectly and I wash daily and sometimes two to three loads. Well done Westinghouse.

There is only automatic, low medium and high. I often have a 3/4 load of clothes and have to choose the high level to wash them so I am using a lot more water than I used to. The Fisher and Paykel had 6 levels - auto, low, low/medium, medium, medium/high and high.- you can’t change washing programs including water level and water temperature during a cycle unless you turn off the machine and started again. You could do this with the Fisher and Paykel.- the lint filter is useless and hardly collects any lint and there is often lint on the clothes.- I bought this machine also because it had a 60 minute wash time but after watching the automatic cycle it spends a lot of time doing not much eg at 60 minutes nothing happens, at 56 minutes it starts to rotate with hardly any water, at 55 minutes it adds more water, at 53 minutes it rotates and adds water stopping and starting but still doesn’t have enough water for the top clothes to be wet and at 46 minutes it drains. It therefore only washes for less than 10 minutes. I therefore now use the 90 minute cycle to give the clothes a chance to be washed properly.The Fisher and Paykel filled up quickly and washed the clothes for a lot longer before it drained and rinsed. This took about 45 minutes.I am very unhappy with my purchase. I have contacted Westinghouse but they are unable to help me.
After having a previous Westinghouse washing machine for well over 25 years, there was no other brand that we would have went for. This machine is very efficient and super quiet. The glass top allows you to view the machine in action and the results are great. Easy to use and to set up I hope it will serve the family for many years to come
