Westinghouse WTB4600WC 460L Top Mount Fridge

Bought this fridge 5 months ago. Price was good. It is a very square fridge with no smooth edges. Our last fridge was a Westinghouse of similar size and you can just notice how our new fridge looks cheaper. Even the Westinghouse logo looks cheaper spoiling the look of the fridge. The door storage with movable left to right sections is good. Plenty of space in the fridge and freezer. Ice maker works well. Temperature control in freezer is too loose and easily knocked to settings you don’t want. Electricity cable at back of fridge comes out right next to hot compressor which is a bit worrisome. Ice maker works well. Temperature control in freezer is too loose and easily knocked to settings you don’t want. Electricity cable at back of fridge comes out right next to hot compressor which is a bit worrisome. LED lighting and temperature control in fridge is great. My last few fridges have been Westinghouse’s, they’re consistently good quality for a reasonable price. This one is no exception. The size is perfect, the layout inside is super functional. And it looks so good! My only (small) complaints are: if I add a couple of lukewarm containers to the fridge, it works so hard to cool down that it sounds like the whole fridge is rattling. The noise drives me insane. It settles eventually, but I’ve never had this issue before and I can’t find a way to stop it. Also the freezer door just has one kind of “pocket” as a storage shelf. So you can slip in packets of peas etc. but it’s kind of deep so if things get frozen hard they can be tricky to get out, and there’s wasted storage opportunity above (could have been two shelves like ... MoreMy last few fridges have been Westinghouse’s, they’re consistently good quality for a reasonable price. Haven’t been able to figure out why, something to do with the design of the “bumps” along the top of the drawer sides? Not sure. Otherwise, it does everything I want it to do! And it really does look pretty :)

There are so few right hand fridges in the market, but we were lucky to find this Westinghouse that fitted our space perfectly and was spacious enough for an empty nester's needs.Unfortunately, due to COVID, despite the agreed delivery date being in July (I ordered in May), we did not get the fridge til September, and that only occured after I followed up (no communication whatsoever during this time). The first fridge arrived and was installed following the instructions in the book. Unfortunately after it had turned on and settled in, there was a thudding noise everytime we opened the fridge door. It was later confirmed as a badly welded door hinge and a brand replacement was offered. The fridge itself is good - quite spacious and has enough compartments and features to keep the parents happy, but the thudding (poorly welded hinges) is mildly irritating and to have two in a row shows the fault is with the manufacturer.
