Firstly, I have to say these treats are absolutely adorable!! it was even more exciting to give the doggos treats that were fun, in the shape of an alligator, as opposed to just a stick or simple shape. I didn't have that high of expectations because this was my first voxbox and I thought for sure since I was given this item for free to test, that it wouldn't be a quality product. I guess I was wrong! These treats really seem like good stuff... my dog(s) went nuts for them, I feel good about the natural ingredients, and even the packaging was hassle-free. okay, maybe the packaging is not as important, but it helps to be able to zip a bag of treats back up easily enough when you have dogs jumping on you with excitement to give them the treat! These alligator guys didn't have a funny smell like some other fresh breath dog treats do, yet they still seemed to have a lingering freshness on my dog's breath. The only criticisms I have, which are small, are 1) sometimes they leave a tiny bit of a white residue behind if your dog slobbers while she is chewing on it, and 2) you may have to supervise your dog eating it (at least the first time) to make sure she can handle it. My little one's gums bleed a tiny bit the first time because she was so excited and went to town on it, but these things are durable! In all, I would definitely recommend these treats for other pet owners!

Angular pieces

Whimzees are my dog’s favourites, she’s a pug and we buy her the brushees, however, our local store was out of stock so we opted for a bag of the alligators. She seemed to like them just fine, however towards the end of the treat, when there was only a bit sized left, we noticed she had been choking. We were able to get the piece out, and thought it may have been a fluke. Unfortunately, it happened the next time she got an alligator too. After that, we decided to stop with the alligators all together as this never happened with the brushee shape. Dogs should of course be supervised while eating the treats, however, it seems the angles or points of the alligator posed a choking risk for our dog.

Great dental maintenance

When I first rescued my dog, he had infected gums and very unhealthy teeth. After months of treatment with our vet, his teeth are back to normal and these chews are a great way to maintain the health of his teeth and gums along with our vet's instructions of brushing his teeth daily. My pup has a particularly sensitive stomach, and he does not have any issues with these as they are easily digestible. As soon as I indicate that I am giving him a Whimzee Chew he gets very excited and won't leave me alone until I give him one! I love that he is so excited about something that also benefits him. He is a 55 pound pitbull-mix and I give him the large chews. He typically gets through one chew in 20-25 minutes, it's a great way to keep him busy. Great treat

Our dog knows where this product is stored and will go to the cupboard door, sit and beg for this treat. when cupboard door is opened and she is not given an alligator treat, she will walk away. Now her canned food is also stored in the same cupboard and if she doesn't get the alligator she is not happy. She is an dog with an attitude! She may be told "not today" and appears to understand that the treat is not coming, so will eat her dog food. Again, a dog with an attitude. But we love her.

Have to keep buying these.

May 2 adore the alligator chews. My 2 year old literally cries if I run out of them by mistake. She won’t go to sleep as she has one a night at bedtime. She sits at the cupboard waiting to be given the treat box where she will choose which one she wants. She then runs to our bedroom and lies on the bed eating it.Sometimes I struggle to get hold of them and so have to get the small ones. She knows the difference and has made such a noise I’ve had to go get her a 2nd one.My 11 month old also loves them. He soon got into the routine also. He knows to wait until my 2 year old has got hers before he can get one out of the box.We have tried other makes but they both refuse to eat them.

Makes my dogs sick every time they eat them

I was giving these to my two dogs weekly to help prevent tartar and as a treat. I buy the variety box of Stix, Brushzees, and Alligators. One dog threw them up every time right after, but we figured it was his sensitive stomach. We stopped giving them to him but continued to give them to our other dog. My other dog kept throwing up the next day (we gave them in the evening after their dinner) and we couldn't figure out why-she was throwing up what looked like compressed kibble. We kept it in a bag for the vet visit next week. Finally, she threw up a whole, undigested alligator leg and we realized they were making her sick, too. All three types are making her sick. For how many reviews say these make their dogs sick, you would think they would investigate why. There are multiple posts on Reddit about the same complaint. Especially with how expensive they are.

Maybe great for your pup but mine hated them.

I tried these while waiting for a larger pack of dental dog chews. Thought they were cool and all the ridges would entice my 18mo old boxer/pit mix rescue. I gave him the first one, and he spit it out. Wont look at it, wont touch it, smell it, and certaintly wouldn't eat it.Every dog has their own preferences and I know from the reviews many love these adorable alligator dental treats. However, not for my pup. Note: He is a notorious picky eater, so if you have a picky eater and want to try these, I recommend you buy just one first to see how they like it.I'm going to take the other 6 I bought and donate them to a shelter.

My dog throws them up every time

We love whimzees for both our dogs, and the brushzees and stix are very popular in our house. Unfortunately, every time our girl got an alligator out of the mixed box, she threw up. She's a strong chewer and also seemed to finish the alligators faster than the others, which is not the desired effect.I really wish there was a larger box/bag offered that was all one style. Bags of 12 or 14 are less cost effective, require more trips to the store, and have more wasteful packaging. I really like the option to buy 44 Medium chews at a time, but I won't be doing that again since all the larger options are a variety pack.

The best dog chew on the market!

I am so sad to see people leave such negative reviews of such a great product! My 10 year old Yorkshire terrier has been enjoying these since he was old enough to consume them! While he is only 7/8 lbs, he insists on having the large alligators! He chews a little as he needs and then has a fun time hiding his gator under planters, in pillows, in the couch etc! They also help aid in his digestion! I find if he goes too long without having a gator, his stools will be hard and challenging for him to get out, but when he has his chew daily, he always makes smooth moves! He also always has great breath! Please don’t ever stop making these, they are a favorite in our household!

Works great!!

My friend and I have the same breed dog, a year apart in age. She has given her dog whimzees dental treats since he was a pup (size appropriate). His teeth are literally perfectly white with no staining whatsoever,and he has fresh breath.. My dog on the other hand is only two and has stained teeth already even though I try to brush them.. I didn’t know about whimzees until I was at her house one day and looked at those white teeth. Needless to say I started my dog on them and already see a drastic improvement..What I don’t like is that they’re recommended to have one a day but only offer a box of 24.. I know it’s a marketing ploy so you have to buy two boxes… I don’t like that. They should at the very least offer 30 in a box..
