My pup started loosing interest in the gator variety so we switched to the hedgehogs- and he absolutely loves them. I think the shape is more interesting for him and they have the option to be easily filled which is nice. I'd post a picture but he has to dance around and play with the treat before settling in to chew it up. My only complaint is that he gets these about twice a week and it's an expensive habit but I noticed no difference with greenies and only (temporary)minty breath with the fresh kisses . These keep his teeth cleaner longer and he has no bad breath. Which to be fair he has extensive food allergies (another plus for the whimzees) so it could just be the food change and less digestive upset. Either way- these are here to stay and we stock up with ... MoreMy pup started loosing interest in the gator variety so we switched to the hedgehogs- and he absolutely loves them. My 7 year old Cavalier loved this; but note they are hollow and Not solid. It took him about 30 minutes to devour the whole treat. Also the treats are approx. 3.5" tall. BUT at the end he had a good size corner left that he was cautious not to eat and I am glad and threw that away to prevent a choking hazard since they are of a medium hardness it would have gotten stuck in his throat. Please watch while your dog eats it to remove any potential pieces your dog can't grip and chew and might choke by swallowing. However, so far he seems to have no problem digesting and he enjoyed it. I was hoping it would be solid to make it last longer. My 11 year old Cavalier with old teeth enjoyed mouthing his just for fun and couldn't eat it very easily, it's still whole and ... MoreMy 7 year old Cavalier loved this; but note they are hollow and Not solid. My 11 year old Cavalier with old teeth enjoyed mouthing his just for fun and couldn't eat it very easily, it's still whole and smoother now, but loved the challenge and I can give it back to him each night to mouth it away little by little. I also want to mention you get 2 of each color hedgehog in the bag = 2 red, 2 yellow, 2 green. We started with the red but they seemed to have wanted to try all 3 flavors at once and didn't avoid any. I would buy again. If you want a very long lasting treat for a dog with normal teeth I suggest the Himalayan solid block sticks that last my 7 year old Cavalier a month of scrapping with his teeth; but when those get small enough to choke throw away stick or microwave to a chewable consistency. I buy a variety of treats for different situations and needs.

Whimsical shaped dog treats in fun colours and a healthy option made from vegetables. Molly (staffy) thoroughly enjoyed them and they kept her occupied for about 20mins. The shape and size did pose a choking hazard though so I would not leave dogs unattended while eating them. They are smaller than a tennis ball and hollow which makes it very easy for dogs to just scoff down. They are quite expensive and I would probably choose a different treat over these in general.

We give our pups dental treats daily but occasionally when we think our (5 year old) girl needs a little boost and pampering we give her a Whimsy hedgehog or a gator. She absolutely LOVES them. Plus we don't feel bad about their extra cost because they last 5x longer than her daily dental sticks. Her teeth are so clean she's never had to have a vet cleaning! Win/win!
Our 11 mo old, 57# Aussidoodle adores these. She plays with them like they were real hedgehogs; jumping around, pouncing up to it, nose down, back end up. She will lie down next to one and smile the silliest grin. Of course she eventually chews on them. They last much longer than other chews.
Its hard to find a good dental treat for my dog. Hes 65lbs but an aggressive treat eater with mystery halitosis. The vet simply can't figure it out. We brush his teeth every day (hates it) and tried many different dental (no interest in most) however the shape or flavor or something of the hedgehog whimzees is the sweet spot. His bad breath has measurably improved and he takes a long time to get through a chew. We have been able to move the brushing to every other day with these! :) I am going to try the other shapes to see if they are better or not.
I have 3 Pit Bulls. One of them has a liver shunt so she cant be put to sleep to get her teeth cleaned. She had major tartar on her molars. It looked like cement. She cant have high protein dog treats so I decided to try the whimzees. All of her tartar is gone! I am trying different whimzees to try to get different spots on the molars using the different shapes. So I went from hedgehog to alligator. Another one of my pitties doesnt like for his teeth and claws to be messed with and he does not like going to the vet. He had very nasty teeth when I rescued him..they looked like green and beige wood! Nicknamed him george washington. His tartar is gone too!! The puppy pittie likes to swallow treats whole..greenies arent strong enough for her. Whimzees are perfect. It ... MoreI have 3 Pit Bulls. The puppy pittie likes to swallow treats whole..greenies arent strong enough for her. Whimzees are perfect. It takes her like 5 minutes to knaw it down and she cant swallow big pieces very easily. My dog with the liver shunt is having no problems with the 5 ingredients in these treats so far! Her poop looks good too which is an important factor for liver shunt dogs.I have defintely saved thousands of dollars with these treats and chewy is by far the cheapest whimzee supplier out there! If my liver shunt dog had to be put to sleep for a dental cleaning or teeth problems, she might not wake back up!! Plus dental health is so important for her whole health situation. I highly, highly, highly recommend this treat. My dogs are obsessed with them. I have to hide the bag so I dont get harassed for treats.
My dog is obsessed with these! He carries his hedgie around all day, moving it from spot to spot, until he finally decides to eat it right before bed. These are his new big treasures. ;) And they last a while and really seem to give his teeth a good scraping!
I wasn't expecting much and use a major brand of dental chews usually, but these were pretty cool. The shape makes them more of a challenge and it took my dog a lot longer to get through. I have a largish dog so that was good. I would like more in a bag though. I was given the product to try and I was genuinely impressed plus they were super cute! The shape was really challenging and also if you wanted you could stuff it for a longer lasting experience. I also like the fact they are natural.
I'm not a dog, ok, but if I were, I'd be head over heels with any snack that my people have to spend more than a dollar for EACH one. My dogs LOOOOVE these treats. Unlike most dental chews that are inhaled in 5 seconds or less, these took my 2 aggressive chewers more than 15 minutes of hard duty chewing to eat! More than that, they seemed to LOVE the shape, getting into spaces and places in the mouth to clean and remove plaque. I wouldn't give these more than once a week because 1. they are big (my 2 dogs are around 50# each), and 2. they are expensive, and 3. I don't like giving those dental treats more than once or twice a week. In addition, one of my dogs is very old, with missing teeth, so I carefully monitor his progress whenever he eats. Regardless, I'd not ... MoreI'm not a dog, ok, but if I were, I'd be head over heels with any snack that my people have to spend more than a dollar for EACH one. My dogs LOOOOVE these treats.
