Convenient and OK, but packaging gets hot. The gravy is smooth and the flavour is OK for a packet gravy. The taste is 100% better than gravy made from powdered gravy. The only problem was the heating of the gravy. Following the heating instructions, the packaging heats up and was a bit hot to handle, while the gravy was only warm. I had to heat it a second time to make the gravy hot and needed a tea-towel to grab the packet out of the microwave. If I buy this again, I will transfer the gravy into a container before heating it.

Quick and convenient gravy. For the price and convenience, this is a great option if you're needing gravy. Microwaves in 60 seconds. Has a light chicken and herb flavour and went well with BBQ chicken and vegetables. The gravy is smooth and not overly salty either. Bonus points for being Australian made too!I've tried the beef gravy in this brand too - a little bland tasting. The chicken one is much nicer and has more flavour.

Why buy this when Gravox version is cheaper and better. So I was excited (again) and then disappointed (again)Gravox traditional is $1. 60 per 100ml and Woolworths is $1. 75 per 100 ml so for a start its more expensive than my branded productEven on special its dearer as the pack is smaller but i still weakened and bought it to try. My dinner is all leftovers except for the gravy and I know its yummy ( cos I've had it before )The gravy is chicken light in colour which is fine and a perfectly ok consistency but is too herby for me (i'm guessing thyme) so it overpowers my chicken but more importantly my potatoes. Now to be fair I do usually buy the Gravox Traditional but Woolworths don't do a Traditional so in a sense my comparison is a little unfair as I am comparing ... MoreWhy buy this when Gravox version is cheaper and better. Better than I expected. I was taught how to make pan gravy by my mother over 60 years ago. Never bought gravy and never used products like Gravox. Although I must admit to using the goop that was in the KFC meal packs in my younger take-away days! Therefore, my expectations of this product were not likely to be high. But I was pleasantly surprised at how good this was. Easy to make: just warm it up. Nice consistency not runny and not goopy. Pleasant taste. Perhaps a tad more salt than I would like, but we do use a little less salt than most. I won't be changing the way I make gravy. But I would certainly recommend this product to anyone who is unable to make gravy from flour, water, salt, and some pan juices.
Deliciously convenient. What more can I say other than this Woolworths Chicken flavoured Gray was simply devine and so easy to prepare! The only disappointment was there wasn’t enough to go round (200g is not enough for 4 - especially with a meal of chicken schnitzels and chips)!Flavour gets too marks - great chicken taste and thick consistency. Packaging gets too marks - easy to locate along side all the other gravy ranges Preparation gets too marks - 60 seconds in the microwaveQuantity is too small for a family of 4 (when you love your gravy). Will get this again for sure!
Always handy to have one in the cupboard. I hadn't tried this product prior to getting my Bunch gift. However, once I did try it, it will be a product that I will have in my pantry. I found it to be just as tasty as mixing a powdered gravy mix but without the hassle. It wasn't as thick as I would make mine, but so convenient after a long day at work to just pop it in the microwave oven and pour over the BBQ chicken I picked up too. Dinner was done in no time, add the Greek salad as side - delicious, quick and no fuss. Thanks Bunch
Very convenient to have on hand. Not a fan of this gravy. It really wasn't to our taste, being chicken flavoured we expected more flavour, less saltiness and the consistency was too runny. Apart from being convenient this is not something I would regularly add to my shopping list. Glad to have tried it as a bunch sample as I would have been very unhappy spending $4 for this product. I will stick to the Woolies powdered gravy mix or make my own from scratch.
Not My Cup of Gravy. I make my own gravy. I use the sachets from instant noodles, that would otherwise go to waste, dissolved in boiling water as the base; I add wine (red or white depending on the meat), meat juices; dried herbs from my balcony garden; and thicken with cornflour. It's fabulous gravy. It saved me a little bit of time to just open the sachet, pour into a jug, and nuke in the microwave. But the gravy was bland and boring and nowhere near as good as homemade. I wouldn't buy this.
Convenient option. Easy to locate in the aisle with all of the gravy’s / spices etc. Had a really good flavour, can definitely taste the chicken flavour to it. Super convenient to keep in the cupboard and just put in the microwave to heat. I feel like pricing is a little expensive at $4. 00 for 200g (especially in comparison to powder gravy) Packet says serves 4 however I am not sure you would get 4 serves out of it. Consistency is as per advertised on the packet however I like my gravy a little thinker consistency than what this is. We used on the Woolworths herb and garlic schnitzels.
A great pantry product! I have purchased this gravy before so am able to write my review immediately. I have tried a few in the range - chicken, peppercorn and beef. At $4 they are reasonably priced and always in supply at Woolies. The benefits - convenience. It’s a ready made gravy, a quick re-heat in the microwave and it’s ready. A great item for the time poor or for those can’t-be-bothered moments in life! It also has a good shelf life. The taste is milder than the beef gravy, lighter in colour as well as taste. It is as expected - not as good as homemade but a reasonable gravy for a pre-prepared product. It will not knock anyone’s socks off but they will all eat it and not complain! With it’s milder taste, I also found it pairs well with roast veges. A item to ... MoreA great pantry product!
