Good dark cooking chocolate. This was another baking chocolate sample I had in the pantry in hopes of baking something delicious but I ended up eating it for now and will probably make some chocolate chip cookies later. Packaging is plain, it can be a little bit more ✨✨snazzy for making it more attractive. Ofcourse all this has to do with costs, so that’s okay. The cooking chocolate is made in Poland, ofcourse I wish it was locally sourced. The wrapper is Return to store recycle ā™»ļø I am off the cooking chocolate train for now as I also received the Milk Chocolate variety but it was not in stock. I would recommend this product for keeping the pantry for its various uses.

Interesting. I found this product interesting to review. Cocoa has a lot of health benefits, lowering blood pressure and antioxidants to name a couple. That is generally 70% cocoa. This product is 50%, it has a 1 star health rating; to put that in perspective… a Mars bar has 1/2 a star, Coke and Fanta have 1 star. It says there are no artificial colours flavours or preservatives yet under ingredients it lists, sugar, milk, emulsifier, soy, vanilla flavour, 108mg of sodium etc. This product is made in NewZealand and comes with a Rainforest Alliance brand. I tasted this cooking chocolate and used it to make chocolate icing. It tastes delicious. I doubt there is any goodness in this product but for cooking it’s ideal. I recommend it for cooking and at $3 it's value for ...Ā MoreInteresting. I found this product interesting to review. Deliciously Dark. For a dark cooking chocolate it's quite delicious to eat without being used in cooking. It has dark chocolate flavour but not significantly bitter - making it tasty as a finishing chocolate for desserts (such as Shaved or broken onto crepes, yoghurt dishes, icing etc). It snaps apart easily, and melts very well. Very reasonably priced compared to competitors. Right on the bottom shelf at my woolies though, so had to go searching for it. If possible, the packaging being paper based (like the new Mars/snickers wrappers) could make me even more inclined to buy it, for the extra environmental support. I like that it says Made in Poland, adds a little bit of flare to the product.

Delicious Dark Cooking Chocolate. My first impression on the dark cooking chocolate was yum, delicious, the texture is hard but once you bite into the chocolate it is creamy. To prepare just open the packaging and bingo break a piece or 2 off then enjoy. A great chocolate for people, that don't like the bitter dark chocolate, as this is sweet and has a hint of dark chocolate flavour to it. I served mine with a nice hot drink as a little sweet snack, I'm definitely going to make some cookies out of the rest if their is any left haha. I love how for $3. 00 you get 200g very reasonably priced considering the named brands are alot more expensive for less grams. I will be highly recommending this chocolate thank you for allowing me to sample this product very grateful.

Good! I was going to make a chocolate pudding, but it didn’t use enough chocolate. I made a chocolate mud cake. It was going to be a flourless cake but I realised I had lots of SR flour to use up. A bonus with this chocolate is, I was able to break up the squares inside the packet without it breaking. So convenient! Here it is in the packet. I tasted a square, it was pretty sweet. On the packet it says it has 50% cocoa solids- you can taste it. The quality is good. I was happy with how the mud cake turned out. It smells really good & has a nice crunchy top. I haven’t made mud cake for a long long time! I cut back on the sugar- the chocolate tasted sweet- so I wasn’t sure how much to add. Especially since it’s not something I usually make. But that is what chocolate ganache or caramel sauce are for! I’ve already eaten some of it as you can see.

Made a Chocolate Mousse with this product. This product is very well priced and very palatable as well. I am not a big Dark Chocolate fan but I do use it in cooking and desserts. I made a chocolate mousse using Cadbury Mint Areo milk chocolate and Woolworths Dark Cooking Chocolate. It melted very nicely and combined with the milk chocolate took away some of the bitterness usually associated with dark chocolate. I will buy this product again as the price is fantastic and the taste is comparable to other well known brands. It's made in New Zealand. Thank you for the chance of trying this product.

Good taste. I used this chocolate to make fondant au chocolat. This chocolate was thick and hard to break neatly, but it melted quickly and was easy to cook, and it wasn't too sweet, which was nice. The only ingredients for fondant au chocolat are this chocolate and three eggs. Mix three egg yolks with 150g of melted chocolate, then gradually add the meringue made by whipping three egg whites and mix. Then pour into a muffin mold, press into the center one piece chocolate of the remaining at a time, and bake at 180ā„ƒ for 10 minutes.

Rich and Decadent. A standout choice for baking enthusiasts seeking a rich, indulgent experience. Its smooth texture and deep, complex cocoa flavor elevate any dessert, from brownies to ganache. Unlike some cooking chocolates, it balances bitterness and sweetness beautifully, ensuring your creations are both refined and delectable. Whether you're a seasoned baker or just starting, this dark chocolate is a reliable and delicious ingredient that brings professional-quality results right to your kitchen.

Surprisingly delicious. I'm not going to lie - I'm a bit of a chocolate snob, so I was not expecting much at all from this Woolworths own brand cooking chocolate. Boy, was I surprised when I whipped it out to make cookies and found myself polishing off all of the leftover chocolate! Not only did it bake well and add a smooth, rich, chocolatey deliciousness to the cookies, but it was also absolutely divine on its own. It was creamier than expected and did not have the harsh bitterness that I was expecting from a budget dark chocolate. 5 stars, would definitely buy again!

Nice taste and easy to work with. This cooking chocolate melted beautifully. We bought some ice cream waffle cones, melted the chocolate, filled up the ends, and dipped the rim with chocolate and sprinkles. It was a nice little treat and activity to do with the children. My kids usually aren't much of a fan of dark chocolate but they seemed to enjoy this one. It wasn't overaly cocoa tasting or too bitter. The price is spot on for the quality. I'd purchase this item again to melt on top of brownies next time, and make more chocolate coated cones!
