Woolworths Dolmades Traditional Traditional 280g

Nice entree. i love dolmadas, usually I get them from the deli. I love to serve dolmadas in a Greek style platter. With some tzatziki dip, olives, marinated feta, cherry tomatoes First time I ate from a tin. They're flavoursome, filling is satisfactory. A bit oily for my tastes. I prefer freshly from the deli however I will buy one to keep in the pantry just in emergency

A surprisingly tasty product. I have had this sample in the pantry for quite a while as I always thought Dolmades would be a bland, tasteless product. I bit the bullet today and my wife and I had them with cheese stuffed peppers as a snack after working around the yard. On the first bite I was converted, they were tasty and I would not be able to stop at one. Now I'd like to try fresh from the deli for comparison. $4 for 280g, made in Greece which is where they originated from so happy enough with that. I feel they would go well on an antipasto platter. Thanks to Woolworths and bunch for the opportunity to sample this lovely product, would happily purchase and recommend to others.

Bit Oily for my liking. I don't think I had ever tried dolmades before receiving this sample. I was pleased to be able to try them as I probably wouldn't have bought them otherwise. I wasn't quite sure just how to serve these so decide to just have a few as a snack. I added some cheese slices just to mix it up a bit. The can was easy to open as it had the essential ring pull. But it was quite difficult to get the dolmades out of the can in one piece. They were extremely oily and a lot of them fell apart as I tried to get them out. The vine leaves were soft and easy to eat and the rice filling was quite nice and flavoursome. I quite enjoyed them, although I found them a little bit too oily for my liking. A winner for me! Woolworths Dolmades are great! I have been buying and devouring them by the can load for many, many years. Great packaging, looks super appealing and makes me want to just eat it all! Once open, the contents look and smell amazing. I love the size of the dolmades, they are small enough for a little snack and then some more as once you start you will never want to stop!The dolmades taste great on their own or served up with a salad or with a yoghurt sauce or even hummus. Just eat them! I also use the excess oil in salads because it tastes like dolmades and I really do like the taste of vine leaves. Interesting Taste. This sample came at a good time as I had a dinner meeting at our house last night. The smell was quite overpowering as I drained the tin. I can't define the taste but it was interesting. All the participants said they really liked them and one said he had eaten Dolmades in Greece and these were good. Personally, I wouldn't purchase again but was pleased to be able to try something I had not eaten before. The 4 's are my guests point of view. I easily found the product in the Sauce section on the top shelf.

Something Different. I have always wanted to try vine wrapped goodies! Have seen cooks doing this on TV and thought that I could do it with our grape vine leaves. I did not expect the citrus/vinegar taste. Probably go alright with meatballs or a cheese dish or puff pastry goodies or on a platter. Places that you would use pickled cucumber for that zip of palate cleansing flavour. The other part was the veins in the leaves texture in the mouth was like little sticks. I did not know whether to keep chewing or to fetch them out! Could be a bit of a problem in company!The loop pull lid opened easily. I can see why they did that when I looked at the top for information. Onion, dill and mint flavoured. I think that I tasted onion but was left with the lasting taste of vinegar. It tended to overcome other flavours which may have been present. It comes from Greece as you would expect but could come from Australia as we produce everything here. I would not purchase every month but possibly would have on a platter for something different and for people to try. The price of $4 is about what I would expect for these specialty items.

Best dolmades I’ve had. I never really enjoy dolmades but I want to like them so I keep trying different ones. I ate these straight from the can all in one day! They are better than dolmades from the deli and from my local Greek restaurant. The texture was just right, the flavour is there, loved them. I’ve purchased more cans already, they’re a great snack to have in the house.

Mmm ... Probably very similar to a Sushi Roll, with these Grape/Vine Leaves instead of Seaweed. Well, much to my dismay, they were tasteless apart from being very oily. the rice was ok, but also oily, and I couldn't really say what it actually tasted like. It was definitely something very different. The leaves had veins in them that were like twigs, or like very thin toothpicks, and definitely not according to me as being edible. Very good. But you need to work on the price. A good product, which I did not know before. I liked the taste, but at the same time I figured it can be improved on. I tried to add salt - no, bad idea. I tried to add black cracked pepper - that was an improvement. I tried to add chilli (specifically the original Sambal Oelek) - that was an improvement, too. Then I added black cracked pepper AND Sambal Oelek: That was best!It's just the price, which does not resonate with me: Your price is $4. I don't know, if I am allowed to namedrop the name of another retailer, thus I'll just say I got the same product, same size, same taste but with a different name on it for $2. 50.

They were ok but the saying goes 'nothing beats fresh'. They are Made in Greece and contains all natural ingredients. It has a health star rating of 2, this is because of the high salt content but the fat content is low which is great. Found some not all weren't firm, I found some a bit mushy, even though the flavour was ok, still prefer the fresh ones with meat. I was introduced to these by my Sister in Law who is Greek and they also make their own. Unfortunately you can taste the difference but that is with everything we make at home.
