Norwegian Salmon. I was delighted to receive this sample through Bunch!I have tried the Australian farmed salmon, but was not aware that this frozen product was available at Woolies. The Salmon is from Norway. The pack is 250g and costs $6. 30. As I have a family of 4 I purchased an additional pack for my whole family to enjoy. The cost of the fish equates to $25. 20 per kilo which think is typical price range for this type of fish. My salmon was pan-fried. Each salmon is individually wrapped should you choose to microwave. Whilst my preference is to purchase Australian, I do not think that the flavour was less superior than the Australian brand. Perhaps Woolies should also consider creating a 4 pack of this product at an more economical price; and as an added bonus ... MoreNorwegian Salmon. Overall a great product!

Frozen Salmon. We are lovers of Salmon and eat it regularly, so was very grateful for this Bunch item. I cooked the salmon in the microwave from the freezer (as per pkt instructions) and served with broccoli, roast sweet potato, roast pumpkin, roast carrot, roast onion & leftover ranch dressing. Very enjoyable ! But then I read the packaging. Made in Norway - why does Woolworths need to stock salmon from another country? Woolworths sell Tasmanian Salmon at the deli and this week it’s on special for $29. 50 kg. This frozen salmon was $8 for 250g = $32 kg. (Other supermarkets sell fresh salmon for under $30 kg)Disappointed this is a Woolworths brand product. I’ll stick with buying from the deli or where Tasmanian Salmon is on special.

Woolworths Frozen Salmon Fillets Skin On 250g. Woolworths Frozen Salmon Fillets Skin On is a healthy product to have in the fridge. If you have an air fryer cook this salmon as per instructions on the back of the pack. Make and nice salad, make a quick lemon and caper sauce and you’ll have dinner in less than 10 minutes. Room for improvement - The packaging could be improved, the black ground and random vegetables on the box doesn’t clearly mark the context of the package. I’m pleased they use a box, but inside the box is two vacuumed seals (plastic) around the salmon fillets. Positives - The salmon was scaled, which I’m pleased, I’ve purchased salmon fillets from other stores that required de-scaling and it’s very hard to do that with a smaller size piece of fish. ... MoreWoolworths Frozen Salmon Fillets Skin On 250g. We weren't all that impressed. We thought the portion sizes were adequate for us but at 125g each may be a bit small for those with a bigger appetite. We decided to try two of the recommended cooking methods. One fillet was pan fried and the second was microwaved. The pan fried fillet was the clear winner. The skin was quite crispy and the fish was nice and flaky. The microwaved portion was still frozen in the middle and needed to be zapped again for quite a while before it was successfully cooked. It didn't look as appetising as the pan fried fillet. The skin wasn't crispy and it still looked undercooked even with the correct wattage conversion cooking time and then extra time too. We found both versions to be quite tasteless. There were quite a few bones in both ... MoreWe weren't all that impressed. There were quite a few bones in both portions as well as quite a lot of scales covering the skin. The microwaved portion was very oily as well. The salmon is a product of Norway and is $6. 30 for two fillets (250g)We were quite disappointed in this product and wouldn't buy it again.
Taste 5 package 3. Let’s start with the environmental cost Atlantic salmon from Norway while I prefer to reduce the carbon foot print as much as possible I will not eat or serve Australian salmon due to the (Huge negative destruction to environment the taz salmon farming is causing/ created) would not have even taken this sample if it was from Taz. taste was good nice size pieces, even thickness. I pan fried them with a maple smoke spice rub and served with Parmesan mashed potatoes and grilled cos very nice special supper for us. price point was good my only real complaint is that I couldnt see the size of fillets ( are they always near to equal) until I opened the box - a celulose window would be nice to be able to check this. thanks so much for this sample and yes ... MoreTaste 5 package 3. Ignore The Cooking Instructions. I was a little dubious about salmon in a bag and I was right to be. The microwave cooking instructions were completely off. The 1. 5 mins and 1 min standing time from frozen was wildly inaccurate. I had to heat for 4 mins and leave sit for a further minute. The fillets themselves were quite good but bland. They were a la natural fillets so I just added some salt/pepper and a squeeze of lemon. I’m quite suspicious about where this salmon actually came from too. It wasn’t disclosed anywhere on the packaging and I’ll be pretty disgusted if it’s an imported product. There also wasn’t any of the health rating stars on the pack like most products. One good benefit of the microwave cooking was that the house wasn’t filled with that grilled ... MoreIgnore The Cooking Instructions. One good benefit of the microwave cooking was that the house wasn’t filled with that grilled salmon smell that hangs around and the cooktop wasn’t covered in oil splatter. In a pinch I’d buy these again but honestly I’d prefer the fresh, Aussie salmon from the deli grilled on the cooktop or baked in the oven. Was happy to try it though as salmon is one of our favourite fish
Healthy meal. There were two middle pieces of salmon individually packed in a microwavable bag. Really like the idea and perfect for single serve. Outside it was a small recyclable cardboard box with detailed cooking instruction on the pack. Great size and easy to store in the freezer. The fish had skin on it, it had nice pink colour and looked fresh. I used foil paper to wrap it then cook them in oven. It came out perfectly. Meat was juicy and tender, lots of flavour but not fishy. Price was $8 for 250 gram worked out to be $32 per kilo which is acceptable. Product of Norway. Overall it is a great product to keep in freezer for a piece of mind just in case you want something healthy and lite with minimum effort to cook.
Quick bowl meal with tasty salmon. This was not a sample. I have had this in the freezer for a rainy day. There were two roughly even sized pieces of salmon in the pack. I cooked them up in my airfryer and served them in a bowl drizzled with teriyaki sauce. The salmon fillets were placed on a bed of cooked brown rice and baby spinach leaves and garnished with pickled ginger, grated carrot, sliced cucumber and toasted sesame seeds. The salmon was moist and flaked well. I removed the skin even though it was crispy as I'm not a fan. Just as well I did because there were three large scales still attached. I took a star off for that. I will definitely purchase this salmon again, great product at a great price.
Great to have on hand. Once a week, I usually buy fresh salmon but I was really impressed with this frozen version from Norway. The two portions being individually wrapped is a bonus. However, being 250g, they are a little on the small size so are ok for a lunch. Slightly larger ones would be better for dinner. After thawing, the fish was still firm and not watery at all. I seasoned the fish with salt and pepper and pan fried it in a little oil. The taste and texture was good. It made a lovely dinner with carrots, broccoli, zucchini and creamy mashed potatoes. The price was comparable with fresh salmon so I would buy this again and keep it in the freezer as a standby, especially as the best before date is quite long, August 2023 in my sample.
Fantastic Portion Sizes! I followed the instructions and let the salmon defrost overnight in the fridge and opted to fry these up in the pan (as per the instructions). These were absolutely delicious and both of my kids loved it. I served it up with some Moroccan couscous to fill us up (since each salmon is only a small portion) with a squeeze of lemon + salt and pepper. The skin was so crispy. YUM! The portion sizes were good, but if you're hungry, you'd want to eat both of them, so long as you have sides as well, it will be filling enough to serve for 2 people. They were both packaged really well, so if you choose to just eat one, you can just cut it up and thaw one overnight instead. There was no 'fishy' smell at all and it just looked like fresh salmon.
