Not value for money. After all the work I got 274 grams of cooked meat out 820 g of lamb bones. No value for money. I love a good curry cooked on the bone or a good home made broth. I love to see as much of the animal as possible used - nose to nail but i wouldn’t purchase these off cuts. I removed the large amounts of fat which were 250 g. Over half was bone so you are paying for a lot of fat and bones. Which I know the fat and bones is what gives flavour and goodness but you could buy a much better cut of lamb for not much more. In reality you are paying approximately $18 a kilogram for the lamb ! For $18 a kilo I can go elsewhere and buy a deboned piece of lamb shoulder which is much better value. Good value - cook in slow cooker. These are a great buy for the budget conscious, especially if you have a slow cooker. I chose a pack with the least amount of visible fat which I trimmed off and then into the slow cooker with a packet of french onion soup mix and a cup of beef stock. Towards the end of cooking I threw in some zucchini and mushrooms and served with mash potato. I have bought this product in the past and will continue to buy.

Ever liked lucky dips as a kid? Relive your childhood! Some packs have heaps of meaty bits and others don’t. Just like the lucky dips - some were good, some were lame. On the upside, lime trading your lame lucky dips as a kid, strengthen your bond with your K9 friend with the “less” meaty bits. WIN, WIN!
Great budget friendly meat option for soups & stock. I've been buying these for a while and generally they are a really budget friendly option, but you do have to look through the packets for the ones with the most meat (and least fat) on them. I use these for stocks, soups & often find offcut chops (the NQR ones) in a packet, that I set aside for Sunday "Big Breakfasts" or as part of a Dinner Mixed Grill.
Too Much Fat. After I cut off most of the fat from these lamb pieces, I made a nice lamb & vegetable soup. There were only 2 packs of lamb pieces to choose from on the supermarket shelf & both of them were very fatty. If I bought this product again then I would have to find a pack that wasn't so fatty. I was happy that it was Australian lamb though. I must admit too that I like making soup with bones on the meat/lamb though as I find it gives the soup more flavour.
Not great! Really struggled to find this product!!! Difficult to find a reasonable tray. I know they are off cuts, but the majority of trays were only fit as dog bones!! Most trays were incredibly fatty. If used for stock, you would have a lot of fat to remove. Not a product I would purchase in the future...
Great value. I don’t usually buy lamb unless it’s on clearance as the price tag isn’t really in our budget, and so I was surprised to see that all of the packets of these “offcuts” at my store were basically chops!!I originally walked into woolies to use this sample with the thought that my dog would love some bones, but ended up cooking them on the bbq and eating them ourselves!Really cheap in comparison to the actual chops, and didn’t find them fatty or lacking in meat. I guess it comes down to the individual store, but I was very impressed and will definitely purchase again! Especially knowing that it’s attainable within our budget!!
Perfect addition…. A perfect addition to the slow cooked lamb ragout I had planned. I found the lamb off cuts without a drama and there was a large variety of packs to choose from… I managed to find a pack with a couple of chops & odd bones. I didn’t have to trim much fat and the there was a generous amount of meat on the bones. My lamb ragout was delicious. I will buy these in future to add to slow cooked lamb. Thank Bunch.
Great Lamb. It took me a few goes to pick up the Woolworths Lamb offcuts sample as they were always out of stock, a very popular item in my area as to the price and the quality of the lamb. When I collected the sample their were a few packets to choose from. I chose one with the most meat as I planned to make a lamb casserole. There was a lot of meat on the lamb for the price of $6. 48. which is great value. I made a slowed cook lamb casserole. I just placed the lamb in the slow cooker with vegetables and water and Vegeta. Let it cook for about 6 -7 hours on low. Was absolutely delicious. I will definitely purchase again.
