Light Basmati. I love Basmati rice. I find it so nice and light especially when I'm enjoying something like butter chicken or any other meat dish with added sauce. The rice does not overpower the meat and it is really a pleasant light and fluffy rice to enjoy with Asian foods as well. I highly recommend Basmati and this one so easy in the pouch to heat up for 90 seconds and you enjoy it. I buy Basmati regularly and will be adding this one to my shopping list more as well.

Surprised by this. I’ve had this rice in the pantry for a while now waiting for the day when I was really busy and had to have a quick meal. Tonight was that night. I’m really really surprised by how this rice has come out. It was so quick and easy to microwave and when I opened the packet the rice grains were nicely separated. It wasn’t clumped together at all which is what I expected I’m really really amazed. I served it under some red chicken curry and with the abundance of curry sauce I don’t think anybody could tell that this was microwaved rice. For some reason I think the grains seem longer than when I cook the normal Woolworths basmati rice. Weird but not complaining. Certainly not offensive but if you are the one cooking and unwrapping I think you can tell. All in all it is a very handy pack to have in the pantry. Tastes perfectly fine quick and easy to prepare and a perfect price. You should try this one bunchees if you are a regular rice eater. It’s not bad at all!

Quick easy and simply delicious. Must have in my pantry. Just returned from 32 weeks travelling around Australia. So pleased we found this awesome Woolworths product. It enabled us to make a meal within minutes & not need the additional heat of a lengthy cooking process. Quick easy & delicious every time. Woolworths steamed basmati rice is so versatile. Mix with shredded chicken ham or salmon add hard boiled eggs onion capsicum frozen peas for a tasty quick nutritious healthy meal. Feeling like desert. Woolworths basmati steamed rice add chopped canned apricots peaches or frozen raspberries stir in Greek yoghurt sprinkle with chopped nuts or grated chocolate for a decadent treat!

Convenient and a good side dish. I liked the colour of the packaging - the orange evoked memories of Indian and Asian cuisines. The packaging was easy to store in the pantry and easy to open. I was happy to see the statement ' no artificial colours flavours or preservatives' and to see it contained 98% rice. However when I make rice at home I don't pull 'stabiliser' out of the cupboard - so what is it? and do we need it as an ingredient? Does it contradict promoting a 'no preservative' product?Cooking time was minimal making it a perfect accompaniment to a quick meal such as stir fry or a defrosted meal out of the freezer such as savoury mince or butter chicken. I found it difficult to find the reheat directions they were written sooooo small - I can't imagine what ... MoreConvenient and a good side dish. The cost was reasonable but disappointing to see it was a product of Thailand- although I don't know if any Basmati rice is Australian sourced? It tasted similar to other convenience rice I have tasted. All in all I would try again. (Must have been good as I forgot to take the intended photo!)

Surprisingly Great! I was skeptical about trying a precooked rice that can be heated up in the microwave. I am a rice snob where it has to be cooked in my rice steamer and I only like a medium grain white rice. Well this product is a game changer! To be honest I would never have purchased or tried this rice had it not been for Bunch. I decided to use this Basmati rice with a slow cooker beef stew. The packet that the rice comes in has clear instructions and product information. I ripped one side of the packet and microwaved it for 90 seconds. I gave the packet a shake before serving the rice and to my surprise the rice came our fluffy and fully cooked. The rice soaked up the juices of my beef stew too! I was expecting it to be a rubbery texture that would leave a plastic impression in my mouth. But instead the rice complimented our dinner seamlessly. My 8 year old son had his rice plain due to not wanting to eat the stew. He raved about the rice and asked me to make sure I buy more.

A Great Pantry Staple. I always have a few of these rice sachets in my pantry. I especially like this Basmati variety. I think it has the perfect texture and taste for pretty much any dishes that require white rice. I really don't cook rice from scratch anymore. I know every time I microwave these sachets the rice turns out absolutely perfect. It can also be used for fried rice or paella etc if you're wanting a quick alternative. I just microwave the rice for half the cooking time then put into a bowl and allow it to get cold in the fridge. From there you can do anything with the rice as you would with the totally raw rice. Brilliant!

Perfectly cooked rice. Generous serving for 1 or excellent portions for 2. Perfectly cooked rice in 90 seconds. Instructions were quite clear but the microwave power was 850w leaving me to guess how long to put it in the microwave for using a 1100w. The instructions could also be written larger so that people with vision problems could read it. Easy to tear off the top for steam to be let out and open from the other end. Breaking up the rice inside the package was easy to do with no big clumps once heated and poured into the bowl. The texture and quality reminded me of the rice I expect from my local restaurant. Excellent quality and would buy again however I just wish it was a product of Australia to support the economy instead of sending money overseas.

This tastes nice with butter chicken. I usually buy the Tilda brand-(Basmati Rice which is $3. 30 for a 250g 2 serves pouch) but decided to give this one a go instead I had this with butter chicken below is a pic:-The rice was soft tasted nice & went well with the butter chicken it cooked well in the microwave it says 90 seconds but I like to do little longer it's priced at $1. 50 for a 250g pouch-bargain there is a tear up top to open product & pour out & definitely be re-purchasing again. Update 2/8/2021:-I had this basmati rice tonight with mince & vegetables:- (red yellow & green capsicums broccoli garlic carrot purple onion zucchini Italian tomatoes & spice's) below is a pic:-This was nice with the rice.

Effort required to cook is next to nothing. My style. Ughhh my turn to cook so I did a few things and froze meals for the future. It did come out very soft a bit softer than a I usually have it probably because I hate cooking and am impatient to finish and get off my feet so I usually say “ that will do” It was not unpleasantly soft though and went nicely with the Slightly different taste to fresh cooked rice but again not unpleasant. I would absolutely buy this again seriously 90 seconds and no mess. I will definitely have a few of these in the pantry ready to go. The price point was reasonable for the effort involved which was next to nothing. Freezes well. Sometimes the convenience is just so worth it. Made in Thailand but not everything can come from Australia unfortunately. I would like it to come in a bigger packet.

Convenient but average. Convenience is probably the main thing going for this product only needing to be reheated in a microwave for around 90 seconds. In my sample the rice was overcooked and very bland. it could certainly do with a touch of salt to help the flavor during the cooking process as none is added. The packet says steamed but it had the texture of over boiled rice. The serving size is ample for two people made in Thailand and fully imported but no details on where the rice was grown. At $6 a kilo ($1. 50 for a 250 gram packet) it is actually quite expensive rice when you consider around 50% of the weight is water in the packet. Certainly not a product I would purchase again.
