It's processed cheese in it's most basic form. It's processed cheese like it used to be in the "olden days"! I haven't tasted processed cheese like this since the days of the old blue Kraft block (showing my age here ). Like many others have said, the slices are too small and the pack too large. The too large pack wouldn't be a problem if the slices were individually wrapped but as it is, you have to try & separate the slices - which isn't easy as they stick! Plus with the large pack you then have to seal the wrapping or decant the slices into a sealed container. It's all too hard for a cheap processed cheese. But if you think of it as a cheap processed cheese - you get what it's described as. A gourmet cheese it definitely isn't, but it's not pretending to be. This ... Tasty, affordable n melts well. We found this easily amongst chilled cheese products. I was very surprised by the price as it was super super affordable. On opening, a pleasant surprise that they were not individually wrapped. However, I would have loved for the 3 stacks to be separated within the entire larger pack - makes it heaps easier to use n stay fresh longer. The cheese did look like plastic cheese though, which made me v skeptical. Each slice was also significantly smaller than what we normally use, but separates easily despite not being individually wrapped. Not my preferred cheese. I like that it is not individually wrapped, less plastics more environmentally friendly. On the other hand, it's tricky to separate the slices without contaminating the rest. Suitable for high volume usage of cheese slices in a short time. Even though the storage instructions states that they can be stored in an airtight container, unless you use cheese slices on a daily basis, hard to say how long they will last without going off. The slices are small, so at least 2 slices to fit a slice of bread. It's creamy, odourless with no distinctive cheese flavour, it does melt either in the microwave or the grill. Photo below is the cheese grilled. Not suitable if you are on a low sodium diet or watching your saturated fats intake. 2* health rating. ... MoreNot my preferred cheese. I don't eat cheese often so 1 kg will take me a long time to finish. Thanks for the opportunity to sample.
What's the best cheese to hide a horse? Mascarpone... bwaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahaha, brilliant, get it? AnyhowFirst impressions - This is $12. 50! That said, I'm not really sure this is cheese, just some kind of by-product. I won't be buying it for the kids anyway
Just as good as the big brands. Kids loved these on there sandwich. I actually found that because they weren't individually wrapped kids weren't in and out of the fridge helping themselves to these as my kids usually would do. A bit pricey at 12. 50 so not something I can afford as I struggle to buy cheese as is.... on special though I'd buy. I initially thought that the slices would be hard to pull apart but I had no issues there. Next was storing. So I wrapped one stack in paper towel, one stack I stored in air tight container and the last stack I kept in its original wrapping. Stack 1. Stored lovely and has kept fresh. Stack 2. Package wise is great as less rubbish but would be good to have packaged in more sustainable wrapping. All in all these were tasty and just as good as the big brands. Abit out of my budget but that goes with the cost of living at this point in time. I gave 4 stars mainly due to pricing. The 1 thing I always struggle to fit in my budget is cheese, maybe a smaller 500 gr option for less fortunate family's.
Ummm I don't think so? Well I for one am not a fan of process plastic cheese It shouldn't even be in the same category as cheese? But on the other hand Mr M, loves it and takes it everyday for work, or has it on his grilled sandwiches. Yuk Now this was so easy to spot with all the other cheese slices in the fridge, we usually buy another brand and at first I thought this was a little expensive $12. 50 for 84 slices, 1kg. But we pay $5. 00 for 36 so it works out the same anyway. So I cut open the packaging as there is no way you can just rip it? And I go to grab a slice, and ewww it isn't even wrapped, I know to much wrapping is bad for the environment but some things should be wrapped, like cheese?Anyway after struggling to get a few slices out to make a piece of ... I believe that anything that is processed should not fit into any dairy/meat category! Just saying.... So Mr M, can happily have his processed cheese slices, and I will stick to the real deal thank you So in case you missed it, this cheese is not for me now or ever. This is a kicker!!!... Maybe there were some double cheeseburgers. This is not a product that I would buy again for a single person household, but our catering committee would most definitely purchase them again for catering functions. They would also be good for sporting clubs, School canteens and functions where a large quantity of sliced cheese was required.
Convenient Sandwich Cheese. This is easily found in the fridge section where all the other cheese varieties are sold. It's a 1kg (84 slices) of sliced cheese not individually wrapped, which is great, less plastic used. The slices come apart very easily and don't break during the process. Once opened, I covered it with cling wrap without the original outer packaging and this seems to work very well and each slice peels off with ease. I tried this a few ways, firstly fresh as is, which was nice enough, but it did remind me of eating cheese spread instead of real cheese. It was a bit too salty just like the cheese spreads usually are. Secondly, I made an open grill sandwich and found that the flavour was a lot less and not very cheesy. I think I'll use the rest without grilling or toasting. The price for this is $12. 50 - 1kg (84 slices). I prefer to buy a 1kg of tasty or cheddar cheese for less. It's not a product I'd continue to buy as it tasted too processed. It does have the convenience appeal of using this in school lunches for busy parents. * Made in Australia with at least 10% Australian ingredients* Plastic packaging is return to store
Only 10% Australian ingredients. The pack is a great family size of 84 slices and fairly priced at $12. 50. I like they are no longer individually wrapped, saves on packaging. You do need to put in airtight container once opened as not resealable. The slices stick together and care must be taken when removing as they tear easily. The slices are also very small and I used 1 1/2 slices on my bread to make cheese on toast. I was sad to see only 10% of ingredients are Australian, especially when Australia produces amazing cheese. The taste is okay nothing special but okay when added to burgers or sandwiches. I found the cheese doesn’t melt like real cheddar cheese this must be due to being processed as can be seen in photo.
