Woolworths Seafood Mayonnaise 250ml

Good Mayonnaise. This product was easy to find along with the other mayonnaise and sauces at my local store. There were plenty in stock. This seafood mayonnaise was not too bad, it was creamy enough and it did somewhat have a seafood-like flavour but not too strong. It was good when used as a dipping sauce for cooked prawns, crab sticks and tuna etc. But I find that it actually worked fine on salads too so it could be worth trying to use it on food products outside of seafood. This product is currently priced at $2. 50 for a 250ml bottle. It contains no artificial colours or flavours and has a health star rating of 2. Seafood back up. I don’t eat a lot of seafood so I trialed this on those in the family that do. General consensus was that they wouldn’t buy it again. Was ok but not as nice as a homemade version. Difficult to change their minds when already set in their sauce ways. Said if they didn’t know any different then yes they’d use it. Ok if you just needed to grab a quick sauce on the go. Wouldn’t use on an expensive piece of seafood though. More for perhaps dipping prawns into, even then my family mostly eat prawns by themselves, they don’t tend to use sauce with them.

No strong flavour here. I wouldn't call this zesty. Yes, it is a mayonnaise where I prefer a sauce on my seafood and lemon or lime. Easy to open and use and easy to store with its flat lid. We had it on prawns. It was acceptable but really didn't enhance the food. Has no artificial colours or flavours which is a bonus. Suitable for vegetarians on their seafood. Contains egg as it is a mayonnaise. Only a 2-star rating due to the salt and overall fat content that gives it some flavour. It has too many ingredients listed for me. To be stored in the refrigerator after opening but with no time limit on how long to keep it for. I suppose not past the best before date on the lid. Tasty but Extremely Unhealthy & Leaky Lid. Mayonnaise typically isn't the healthiest food. This seafood mayonnaise is next level unhealthy. After water, the first ingredient is canola oil. This controversial vegetable oil is thought to have inflammatory effects in the body. While further research is needed (isn't it always), that was my first hand experience. 20 minutes after eating this, my joints began to ache. It happened the next time I ate it too, only that time the lid was full of leaky sauce. If that wasn't enough, it contains both fructose and sugar, and preservative. Then there's a whopping 700mg of sodium every 100ml. It's heart disease on a plate. I don't care how good this tastes. It contributes to the poor health of the population. Delicious. This is so delicious. What I love about it the most is that you can make it less strongly flavoured for those who don't like stronger flavours, by adding in some mayo. It's a staple in our house now. Not just for prawns, but my kids love to dip hot chips in it. Really strong, clear flavour and perfect with prawns. Actually now we've had this one we won't buy the more expensive ones. Not just good with prawns but all kinds of seafood! Yum yum yum

Ok for a readymade seafood mayo. G'day250ml Woolies seafood Mayo $2. 50. A nice little squeeze bottle, you can see what you are buying 86% > Australian ingredients. I love my seafood so had to try it with some woolies Banana prawns on special this week. As far as sauces go I thought it was good to dip the prawns in. ( Only in my opinion) a little manufactured for me, I tend to make fresh. In saying that as far as ready made sauces go it went well with the prawns for the price. Good for a ready made sauce but not for me -although others may like very muchThanks a bunch

Basic but nice. This seafood mayonnaise is creamy and has a nice, basic taste that is great with shellfish and accompanying salad. The taste is good for most people including children who don’t really like a spicy kick. When I use it now I add a dash or two of chilli sauce which gives it a bit more oomph. It doesn’t contain a lot of sugar but is pretty high in fat so has a health star rating of 2 however it’s not a food that you would eat a lot of at once. Quite happy to keep this on hand, particularly during Summer. The price is good compared to others on the shelf. Comes in a handy squeeze bottle that sits upside down so it all drains downwards.

Smooth taste. It had a nice smooth consistency, and was nice to have with crab. I did find that the strength of the flavour did overtake the taste of the crab. I tried adding tartare sauce to the crab, and that was less tangy than the Seafood Mayonnaise. I then tried it with corn frittas, which gave the frittas more taste and zang. I am going to use the remainder to have on sandwiches with corn beef for example, so it is still a handy product. Thanks for the sample which allowed me to try it out a few different ways.

Thick thousand island? Not sure what to expect from the name “seafood mayo”, whether it will taste like seafood or it’s to go with seafood. It has quite a subtle favour that is very much like thousand island but not as tangy. It’s also thicker. It tastes “normal” but I probably won’t buy it. If I want a sauce for my fresh cooked prawns I would go for thousand island as it’s more refreshing and tangy. If I need mayo I will just go for plain mayo. Not sure what other occasion I could use it for, maybe burger? But there is better sauce for it. It has noted free range egg but I would be keen to know if it’s pasteurised as that was one thing I checked a lot during pregnancy. I might give it a miss if unsure.
