Soft and mushy. Handy if looking to stretch a meal out, can add it to meals you're cooking, but otherwise not great. Too soft and mushy, I prefer a fresher option. But again, a cheap and convenient option to keep in the pantry if needing to bulk up a meal a bit. Probably wouldn't buy again though

Please don't show these to the French. The people I've known with French history appeared to be very passionate about their beans of many varieties. I envied their animated stories while I only knew a couple of varieties from our home garden. These canned green beans were pale, bland and insipid - with no apparent connection to the bean-stories I heard in the past. We added them to a brothy vegetable minestrone, and the beans did not help to embellish the meal with their soft and dull texture and flavour. I could only imagine one day being forced into buying these as an emergency convenience item if I really needed to shed a tear around a camping trip fire-place where I had no option to bring along any decent fresh or flavoursome foods. I'm sure even the French ... MorePlease don't show these to the French. The people I've known with French history appeared to be very passionate about their beans of many varieties. Not at all! Raised on a farm, we grew pretty much all our fruit and veg. Seeing as we only went to town once a fortnight, sometimes once a week. Mum kept a good tin supply in the pantry, tinned beans was one of them Supermarkets, just not around the corner. I didn't mind the tinned veg then, not so much now. Found these to be a bit on the moushy side, and a bit bland. They were easy enough to locate in supermarket, liked the colouring of wrapper on tin. Priced at $1. 10, 35c cheaper than the other one. But was quite perplexed when I saw the were from France! Both brands have a 41/2 health rating. Gob smacked! Thanks for letting me try, but you know Woolies which one I would buy if I had to. And it's not Woolies brand, the other brand Edges you out all the way. Cheers

Great staple ingredient. I tried these in my savoury mince. They were a great addition. I don't normally put beans in but I was pleasantly surprised. Very tasty! I was very surprised with how much was jam packed into the tin too.
Soggy. These were very soggy. I understand being canned there is no way to avoid this but this means the only thing I could use them for was in a stir fry or something similar as it wasn't immediately noticed that they were soggy. They would be no good as a side or in a salad as the texture is so off but as a quick addition to a stirfry, they are passable.
Good product. I opened the green beans last night and was amazed to see just a minimum amount of liquid as any other makes of green beans I have bought are usually half filled with liquid. I ate the beans cold and added them to a potato salad with egg, mustard and soy sauce. The beans were tasty if a little on the soft side to how I would normally eat beans. But for my mother who is 93 they were ideal, just the way she likes them. I will buy again and keep an extra tin in the cupboard for convenience. One question though why use beans made in France with all our beautiful fresh produce here and what about supporting Aussie farmers by choosing locally grown ingredients.
Easy and Convenient. Quick and convenient. Just open the can and you have yourself a serve of vegetable. Just need heating up if you like it hot. The beans are ready to be eaten, so don't need lots of time to cook them through. It can be serve next to your steak and mash in less than a minute, or drop them into your chicken curry sauce.
Jury is still out on tin vegetables. Okay, so I read most reviews before tasting and thought oh no, this is going to be disgusting. No, they aren’t as green as fresh beans, they aren’t crunchy. However, they do taste like beans and not as bad as I was expecting. Maybe that’s partly to do with my upbringing - meat & 3 vege and Mum (rest her soul) boiled the living daylights out of vegetables so it totally transported me back to the 80s! Lol I wouldn’t buy them as a staple just because fresh is best but they aren’t as bad as you might initially think. C’mon, jar asparagus is way worse, no? The leftovers will go to the fur babies. As an aside, I have never found any produce from France I didn’t like, but maybe, just stop importing the beans. We have plenty in Australia ... MoreJury is still out on tin vegetables. There ok but my frozen beans are nicer. I put this in my mince dish last night upon opening can the green beans were fresh full to the top with juice too but had orangey brown spots on them not all over though tasted ok bit plain my frozen vegetables with beans in them are much nicer then these one's, it's priced at $1. 10 for a 410g (estimate) can this is cheap & nicely packaged, there is a pull-ring up top so easy to open, in the ingredients on side of can it says:- green beans (50%) & water. The beans were soft so not hard, the juice tasted ok, all the same colour so none were off but will be sticking to my frozen beans with vegetables from now on but ok to try out.
DELIGHTFUL BEANS TO SAVOUR. These beans, with a NATURAL taste, are ideal for anyone wishing to start a recipe right from the start. They allowed me to enhance their mild natural flavour by using a variety of ingredients. I began with draining the beans, adding chopped red onions, petite tomatoes, a tiny sprinkle of salt, French Dressing and finished off with a scattering of coriander over the top. What a quick and easy way to serve a delightful side salad with any meal. I also like the fact that they have no artificial colour, flavours or preservatives and that they are reasonably priced. Another thing they have going for them is that they available from my kitchen pantry at any time you need..
