Yes as you are getting more premium ingredients with buttermilk versus water. I think the percentage of water should be disclosed on the ingredient list. Will not buy again, there are better products on the market.

Creamy and not too sweet. Received this as a sample and have taken a little while to open it as we don't eat ice cream a lot. Found it was lovely and soft so no need to take out of the freezer early to use. Texture was creamy, not icy at all and the flavour was definitely vanilla and not too sugary. Really happy that it isn't too sweet!We made banana splits this time, but will be happy to use this ice cream as a side (eg on apple crumble or chocolate pudding) or just eat on it's own in a cone. At $2/L it's a very good price point. Would buy again.

What's not to love. My kids were excited for this sample and it didn't disappoint. With the current prices of ice cream it's dropped off the shopping list and become a rare treat but the price of this tub may just change us back to having our regular cones. I'd avoided this brand as previously I'd found the texture lacking but woolies have upped their game once more. Creamy and soft with that mouthfeel that all good ice creams have, this one doesn't crystallise and keeps its foamy feel even if some of the tub has melted a little on the way home. Big enough for a few family serves it's great for those looking for an ice cream hit on a budget. I'd love to see the product images on the front have topping suggestions pictured too (choc tops, nuts, 100s and 1000s) for those more inclined to buy flavoured ice cream to give this one a diy try at home. There are other brands that outstrip this in flavour (creaminess and that vanilla hit that can't be beat) but it definitely hits the spot if you're not a fan of full on flavour. A great buy on any day of the week and well worth the try. Hats off to woolies on this one!

The Woolworths Vanilla Ice Cream is exceptionally creamy and tasty, sort and smooth and great on its own as well as with baked puddings or with fruit salad. I had it on its own with some passion fruit and it was awesome. Over Christmas we had a lovely warm date baked pudding and I added some vanilla ice cream to this, and it went down quite well too. I made some fruit salad, using fresh fruit, and added a dad of vanilla ice cream to the mix and wow, so enjoyable. Great ice cream jazzed up a bit. Great ice cream which I made even nicer by jazz it up a bit. I have bought a few Mars bars on special for $1. 00 each, cut them up to small pieces. Left the ice cream out for a bit to make it softer than mixed the Mars bar pieces in it and back in the freezer. When I took it out later on to give to hubby and the kids, everybody loved it so much. I am not sure it was because of the Mars bar pieces or the actual ice cream, but it really tasted fantastic. Please give it a try. The ice cream was really nice and creamy

Not our first choice. We keep a tub of reduced fat vanilla icecream in the freezer to accompany desserts - we like the lightness in texture and flavour. Whilst this Woolies version is good price wise, we find the Bulla reduced fat vanilla a better product; it is slightly creamier and has a better vanilla flavour. The calories are comparable (bulla has slightly less carbs, and slightly more fat). Although the Bulla tub is more expensive in Woolies, we can get it cheaper elsewhere.

Creamy reduced fat Ice cream. I was pleasantly surprised that this Woolworths brand ice cream was almost as nice as the Peters Original I usually buy. Only $4 for 2 litres, it is Australian made from at least 82% Australian ingredients. I noticed the small print that says it is reduced fat, so it is surprisingly creamy. The vanilla flavour is not strong. We really enjoyed it scooped onto a warm apple pie. Even when it melted on the apples, it was still quite creamy. Happy to buy this again.

Gone up in price. I bought this for $4. 40. Added to milkshakes, smoothies etc it is great. As an addition to a dessert it is fine. But on it’s own it tastes as it’s been refrozen and lacks the wow factor of a creamy smooth melt in your mouth ice cream You can 100% taste the difference of a branded comparison. Bulla was the same price on sale. Much more creamier smooth taste. I have the expectation homebrands should be cheaper therefore I wouldn’t buy again as I know I can get better quality when other brands are on sale for the same price.

A good budget friendly ice cream. This is a basic vanilla ice cream. The vanilla flavour is pleasant. It is quite sweet, and I note that the first ingredient, after water, is liquid sugar. This is a reduced fat ice cream, containing approximately 40% less milk fat than regular ice cream, relying on the high sugar content to give it richness. Made in Australia from at least 82% Australian ingredients. I wonder which of the ingredients are imported. Hopefully not the water, sugar, cream or milk. If you want a premium, creamy, ice cream this is not for you. However, at $4. 40 for two litres it's an affordable choice for families.

Value for Money without Compromising Taste! My family and I enjoyed this vanilla ice-cream for dessert, with sticky date pudding. The vanilla ice cream was really nice to eat. It was creamy, smooth and light. We could taste the vanilla flavour, however, it was mild, not overpowering. The ice cream is able to be scooped from the tub as soon as it comes out of the freezer and is a nice consistency, not runny, yet not hard. It has been a long time since we have eaten a homebrand ice-cream. This ice cream is such a big improvement on the homebrand ice creams of the past. It now tastes like a branded ice cream and not a budget ice cream. We will happily make the switch to this vanilla ice cream because it tastes great and is such good value for money.
