Good product and made well. Should operate ok when fitted within my vehicle.

I have installed 8 Blockheads on the plywood "table" I constructed in the back of my Sprinter van. So far I have used them to transport 5 bikes--quite securely. The Blockhead is simple, flexible to position, and elegant in design. The elegance contributes to the only negative aspect, however: the forklocking skewer cylinder curves back over the bolt holes in the base, making it impossible to put a conventional socket wrench on the bolt heads. I have a set of ratcheting flat wrenches, fortunately, because one would otherwise have to spend more time wrist-wrenching the bolts down. This is a small weakness, generally, because most users will be installing fewer than 8 and will probalby not be planning to take them on and off.

Good way to secure my bike in the bed of my truck.Especially if I’m driving long distances, making me not worry about my bike moving all around the bed!! Great product!

Awesome mount. Didn't have a lot of room in the bed of my truck, mounted this thing on my toolbox and problem solved. Good price too. Mounts anywhere seriously, Anywhere.
I installed to of these to the side of the toolbox in the bed of my F-150. They were easy to install. They location on the side of the toolbox where I mounted them keep them out of view, not messing up the look of the toolbox at all. I used rubber washers and have had to leakage into the toolbox at all. There may be nicer mounts on the market, yet this gets the job done in every way needed.PROS: Ease to install, Secure, AffordabilityCONS: None so far
I recently got decided I was going to complete in a triathlon and had no previous experience on road bikes. Knowing I needed to transport one often, I quickly got tired of throwing it in the back of my SUV. This product was a perfect fit for my needs, taste and budget. Yakima supports the National Ski Patrol and as a member I want to support them. The installation was easy, extremely flexible with fitment location and not bulky. This combined with a bungee cord for the back is exactly what I was looking for. Only reason there aren't five stars...I had to buy the mounting hardware separate...
I purchased two blockheads about 5 years ago to carry my road and mountain bikes on road trips. This accessory is simply perfect. They have been in the bed of my truck since I originally installed them back in '06. They always work, no questions, no problems. Even trucking down hard washboard fire roads, or traversing very rough terrain, my bikes are always secure and hardly even wobble. They are so good, my brother purchase a couple for the bed of his Ford Ranger. This is a fantastic product! He mounted his Blockheads directly to the bed, which I do not recommend for many reasons. Please see below for my preferred installation method. Instead of mounting them directly to the bed, I attached them to a length of redwood lumber that fits securely in the bed slots of my 2004 Chevy Silverado. [Yakima, hit me up if you want pics] My brother, who often rides with me, refined the attachment by drilling through the 2x6 and installing a carriage bolt with two nuts. That way the Blockhead is always secure. This installation method allows you remove the 2x6 and the blockheads should you ever need the complete truck bed-floor - and you don't have to unbolt the Blockheads - you just slide the 2x6 out from the bed slots. Such an awesome deal. Thanks Yakima! Josh
Got 2 of these for a custom rack that I'm building for our popup camper. There are cheaper options, but you get what you pay for. I went with Yakima because of past experience and the BlockHead is no different. Great stuff!
I bought this for the bed of my truck to hold my bike. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. ,,Really the only negative thing I can say about it is that you have to drill into the side of the truck bed to mount it, unless you do like I did and fabricate a mounting bracket for it, so that no screw penetrates the bed.,,,,The bike has a little wobble when going about 70mph, but it isn't a problem because tje BlockHead holds on tightly to the truck.,,,,If you don't mind drilling into your truck bed or spending time to fabricate a mounting bracket, this little guy is a great, cheaper alternative to the Yakima BedHead.
Works great to stand up a bike INSIDE of a small SUV. Had to use some Yankee ingenuity to attach it to the inside of the vehicle. I used it in my 2003 Toyota RAV4 until it was totalled. I now use it to stand up the bike INSIDE of my 2013 Honda Fit. Instead of having it slide around in the back, it is secure. I can even put 3 people plus a bike in the Fit.
