The guitar was well made, but a little too far on the 'treble side' for my taste.

Great guitar! I play classical guitar, and I was curious to get into the flamenco style more. This guitar is reasonably priced and seems good to me, as a beginner guitar. The included gigbag is extremely thin and not well padded. i will probably replace it.

A nice light and bright sounding guitar. I wanted a classical style guitar but with a better lower action, which generally flamenco guitars have. I do do a little flamenco style strumming but the guitar is good for all styles. The action isn't so low that the strings are buzzy, so that was a plus. The overall finish is good. The spruce top, but probably more so the cypress back and sides produce the brighter tone, much like maple would. The clear 'golpeador' (pickguard) is neat, functionable and well stuck down. My wife thought it was a piece of protective film that needed to pe pealed off :-) . The body is slightly slimmer than a classical body but soundwise I would say it's equally as loud. The only thing I would question is the absence of an adjustable Truss rod. ... MoreA nice light and bright sounding guitar. The only thing I would question is the absence of an adjustable Truss rod. The neck is very straight at the moment, which is great but whether it remains that way, time will tell. The neck is a three piece neck, so maybe it doesn't need a truss rod. Jury's out on that one. One of the stand out points is the lightness, which is really nice. Lightest guitar in my collection.Would I recommend it? Yep, I would. For a sub £500 guitar it's really good.
Nicely constructed and easy playable guitar. The low action and set up is perfect for Flamenco (3mm low E string at 12th fret) and no buzzing - I don't know if this is down to Yamaha or dv247.The sound is bright, clear and fairly loud with that typical Flamenco Blanca vibe.I already own a number of good classical guitars (Hanika, Esteve) in the £1000 plus area and this guitar compares favourably with them (although of course a different type of sound ) I play Classical as well as Flamenco on it and can't put it down (always a good sign)I have given 4 stars for sound on the basis that there are guitars out there that probably sound a bit better however I don't think you'll get a better performance for under £1000.Some Flamenco purists should note that the height ... MoreNicely constructed and easy playable guitar. This I understand is quite common on factory built Flamenco guitars that are part of a line of Classical guitars, as is the case with this Yamaha. I personally don't find this a problem and I guess many wouldn't.Overall highly recommended.
I bought this for practice when my flamenco guitar was being repaired. For the price it is a decent instrument. It is well built and has a low action (3mm at the 12 th fret) which makes it very easy to play. If you are learning flamenco I would recommend this guitar as it will give you everything you need for at least a couple of years before possibly trading up to a hand built instrument (for this you will be paying upwards of £4k). Don't make the mistake of thinking you will get a much better guitar by paying £1,000 for something factory made - you wont notice any appreciable difference from the yamaha. Highly rcommended. Change the strings as those supplied are not great.
